What's new

New Zealand v Pakistan | 2nd Test | Hamilton | Nov 25-29, 2016 | Day 5

Sami apart from being a crappy batsman is also a pathetic runner

Sami barah massom sa bacha lagta hai.

I am not going to criticize him, its good to have an opener who can stick around and he should be given all the confidence and backing.

Reversing now.

This is nothing like an ODI.

I'd rather see Sami hit a century and Younis get back into form rather than Pakistan win.

This is just a warm-up for Australia.

Your signature holds true RIGHT NOW

Slogging is not required , smart cricket is required. Take singles and twos , run hard , occasional boundary.

Sarfarz would literally eat this Santner with the kind of rubbish he's currently bowling....

Really?? - He is one of the best opener I have seen from Pakistan in last 30 years... He just does not need to listen to Pakistani fans. If these two guys have not been there, we have been 4/5 down by now and facing defeat... If win is impossible, next task is save the match, that is test cricket...Sun has not come out all day, its not easy to bat...

All the odds favor Pakistan. More than enough overs to win and still no more than 5 a over.

Have you noticed that the advertising on the grass is Pakistani?

Reinforces the idea that Pakistan jostled with Australia for the role of third financial power in world cricket.

BTW, good time for Azhar to get out IMHO.

What's new - eventually this game will survive like Baseball or Ya(n)ky football - 90% market in IND & if BCB, PCB can get their acts together, my be like Nippon league, there will be couple of other good market for cricket. Do you think, tradition will protect this game in UK when Rooney is earning $400K/week after tax, MacelRoy $25mn/year, Murry $20mn/year, Tyson Fury $25mn for a 45 minutes work, Hamilton $3mn for a 300KM race ....... and James Anderson's biggest pay day being $10,000 match fee ...............

How devious it would be if home umpires start giving the incoming batsman the wrong marks for where their leg/off stump are :srt

I certainly would have done that if my team was losing :ashwin

Glad they sent Babar over Sarfraz. Babar is a pretty good ODI player himself and is much better vs pace than Sarfraz. Plenty of time for Babar to get set and score a big one like he does in ODIs. Will be the key me thinks.

"He's got mens spread all over the ground" - Waqar

It's a draw folks. Time to move on and get on with the rest of your day..

It was all ok before lunch. Now if you talk about collapse than with Pakistan it can happen any time and we can still lose this match. Surely now must be his reckless batting post fifty. He needs to make sure we must go tuk tuk till 6 overs are left and then try if it works for Pak.

This is all posey now like trying to deviate blame

Forget about flight, Santner is going for darting on day 5 :)

no home umpires in test cricket buddy

Yesterday, I actually wrote that Mickey'll settle for a score like 170/1 at Tea & from there on 200 in last 35-38 overs - PAK is matching that script. That's probably the only way to approach such 2 Test series.

Need power hitters here to give us a chance. Yeh "tuk tuk" nehin chalega. Thankfully, Azhar has been dismissed that may give Pak a better chance.

Junaids - who played that Babar pull best?

Some of the posters with a rudimentary understanding of the game don't realize that the openers have set up the game for the middle order against tiring nz bowlers.

Now bowlers are tired and ball is soft, it looks more easier then before. Both of those things have happened because they blunted the first 40/50 overs. Keep in mind when you play overseas, you are at disadvantage, your natural shots(since bounce and pace) are not there... Look at Auses, English and NZ, how they were doing in India or UAE???

Also, don't expect everything from Sami. He has done his job, now trying to accelerate as much as he can, he is no Sharjeel or UA to boss the tiring bowlers, doing ok after 50.

Exactly. Some very bitter posts on this earlier from bitter people.

Last 10 overs 40 runs, despite spread field they have done ok...

Two faces that are expected to be the future of Pakistani batting. If they can guide us home..

is there any chance fir a win?

just woke up

Satner got Azhar like that.. Babar better be careful

If we have to do 140 in last 20 overs, with 7/8 wickets, it's T20 game, not impossible... Means we need to score 80 in next 20 overs, ~4.4 RPO again it depends how much these two can drag...

both opners at 35 SR.

Come on man

No one is askking to play a Ross taylor innings but atleast have some initiative

Test cricket rules make the difference. All out defensive field & negative bowling makes it very very tough. But nothing is impossible

211 Needed from the last session. They're going to have to play out of their minds.

40 runs short for this session. Not impossible but hard to score 200 in one session but we have wickets.
