I cant believe some posters actually think Pakistan was planning to chase 200 in last session.
They gave up ages ago when Sami and azhar played at 1.5 for 60 overs.
Require run rate now over 7.
Should be attacking, Pakistan are on the back foot now.
Less defensive, but he should be attacking. It will take a miracle to chase it now.. Pakistan looked to have shut down shop too.How is the field setting now? KW should be looking to attack now.
RRR 7.4... it's game over and we're still defending
Kane might be worse than Mathews....
Lol really?
You're watching a different game if you think that running was to secure a draw .
But now it's time to walk home with a respectable draw
My only issue is the half-hearted attempt to accelerate towards an impossible target after Tea.
Now Pakistan has its last two recognised batsmen at the crease apart from a debutant. With 22 overs left and a new ball due.
Younis needs to dig in and defend and save this match.
1-0 is only half as bad as 2-0, especially when poor preparation was obviously the cause.
Its obvious really.
IF you are planning to chase 370 on 5th day u dont go at 1.5 per over for 60 and then want 200 in 30.
That run out showed the suicidal mentality.
It might suit people who were under the delusion that Pakistan were chasing this, but they were content with a draw.
Can't compare Pakistan to anyone , someone's flawed, sometimes genuis . Don't want it to be predictable & boring like India /Bangladesh.
Pakistan was never gonna chase this..
especially when poor preparation was obviously the cause.
If the practice match hadn't been rained out, or if Pakistan had arrived a week earlier, they would have won the series?
Well, the euphemistic name of the mercurials and the unpredictables has spoilt the mindset of many Pak fans here. Like Big Mac said it in his interview, it's just another way of saying you aren't professional enough, meaning you fail as much as you win.
It's one thing to plan a chase of 360 in 98 overs. But to try and chase 210 in the last session after crawling at 1.5 rr for the first two sessions doesn't look genius to me. It's bordering on brainless.

Commentators last night thinking 340 was more than enough)
Even 370 isn't enough with our lulloo bowlers.
5 down.
The choke is on!![]()
Pakistan have paced the chase very poorly.Just one example of some of the garbage posted in the last couple of hours.
I had my doubts about 1st test being a fluke for new zeland when Pakistan were underprepared with the tour match being washed out but this match puts an end to all these debates
Final series outcome is fair and square

This collapse shows how well Sami & Azhar batted.
Chalo dil dar chalo, hame tayer chalo -
Junaids - boss, good, bad, ugly can't tell; but if anyone can bail this out; it's the old man & his dance. This game is all about character - he is the only guy built that for few years with a Pro & played few season of meaningful FC cricket - rest are product of Quad E Azam style ....
I think Pakistan have to worry about losing here, instead of chasing....
This.
A little more urgency in the first 2 sessions, and they could have chased it.
NZ wouldn't have taken the new ball if Pakistan had a sniff, the new ball was taken once Pakistan shut down shop.No they couldn't.
If they had been 230-3 at Tea and then lost a couple more wickets accelerating the tail would have fallen to the new ball. Just like with India in Australia two years ago.
What were they drinking at Tea time?
They just needed to shake hands at 92 overs with Pakistan 250-2. And we could all blame the PCB for losing the series by brainless scheduling, whilst happily noting that all the batsmen had had a good knock.

Two fours... the chase is on again![]()
If Rizwan really can hook and pull, Younis might be fighting for his place in Australia.
They drank tea boss - anything stronger is Haram .......
Everything was within plan, barring a small catch - which Ken knew & a guy sitting in Toronto knew - 23 overs with a brand new cherry, on a 15th session wicket, in fading light for a bowler taking 6for in 1st innings, against a batting line-up with 4, 5, 6 & 7 making tail-enders proud ........ PAK should have gone gone to 81st over with 2 down, not 4 - check my post somewhere yesterday ..............
Shafiq should be the one.
At least Shafiq will see Starc's bouncers and Yorkers. Younis and Misbah will just get hit by them.
