Next Prime Minister of Pakistan : Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Plus minus game has started now. Money bags are open for people to feed on and join hands with them.

Pakistan politics heat up: Bilawal in Islamabad for key meetings

As dust settles on the Pakistani elections, political maneuvering for government formation kicks into high gear with chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s arrival in Islamabad, signaling a flurry of high-level meetings and strategizing.

Sources report that former president Asif Ali Zardari will also join his son in Islamabad later tonight.

Additionally, the PPP is expected to convene a central committee meeting soon, where discussions will likely focus on crafting a communication strategy for their approach to government formation.

While the nature of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's meetings remains undisclosed, speculation suggests he might engage with other political figures to explore potential alliances and partnerships.

The upcoming central committee meeting will likely shed light on the party's official stance and communication strategy in the ongoing political negotiations.

With the election results finalized, the political landscape in Pakistan is poised for an intense period of negotiations and strategizing.

Bilawal has all the qualities to serve as PM. He is mild tempered, educated and well spoken. He is a very good ambassador for Pakistan on the international forum.

Besides, he cannot be worse than Imran who proved to be the most incompetent PM in Pakistan history.

Not only did he destroy the economy he also corrupted the minds of a generation of Pakistanis and spread hate and violence.

It will take a long time for the country to recover from the damage and chaos that he has caused but the good news is that the Establishment has shut the door on him completely.

They are fully aware of the fact that the country cannot afford to have him as PM again. Pakistan will be finished if Imran becomes the PM again.

Bilawal will be a better option than NS or SS, as the man himself said "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me".

None of the allegations against Bilawal have ever been proven, and he is not responsible and liable for his father.

PTI supporters want to prove that Bilawal is corrupt but they have zero evidence.

This is the hallmark of PTI though. A bunch of liars. It is expected when their leader is the biggest liar this country has ever seen.

Bhutto Jr will prove to be a perfect puppet for whoever is really pulling the strings, I don't think anyone could argue with that.

Whenever a member of the public asks him a question he gets up and runs away, seen it happen a number of times. There’s a reason why he asked to have a public debate with the dumbass Nawaz Sharif instead of Barrister Gohar.

Never had a proper job in his life.
Born with a silver spoon, a spoon earned from stolen money...

Yeah what a PM he would make
Bilawal isn’t any less qualified to be PM than Imran was.

Imran has also never had a proper job in his life and he used his popularity and celebrity status as a sportsman to form his political party.

Imran was educated at one of the most prestigious private schools in Pakistan and never had to struggle for money and comforts in his entire life.

Imran earned his money through hard work. He didn’t rely on daddy to get him into the Pakistan team.

A load of tosh…

Imran earned his money through hard work. He didn’t rely on daddy to get him into the Pakistan team. He didn’t have daddy doing all the talks behind the curtains just to make him the FM.

Daddy is doing all the work, probably changes Bilawal’s diapers.
Imran was schooled at Aitchison. You can’t afford to go there unless you are born with silver spoon.

By the time he was in early 20s, he already made enough money through cricket to be set for life.

He never knew and still doesn’t know what the life of a common man is like and how much he has to struggle to make his ends meet.

Did Imran work hard at his craft? Yes he did, but so what. Every athlete has to work hard to perform at the top level.

But hard work doesn’t make you qualified to be a PM. No one works harder than a laborer, but it doesn’t mean he is qualified to be PM.

Imran has done nothing in his life to be a PM. He is not even a politician.

He is a populist who cashed on his popularity and used his fan club to win votes.

The main thing is he is well spoken. This is why everyone in media from ary to geo are praising Bilawal. Both Pti and Pmln have people that dont know how to talk and sprout garbage all the time.

Bilawal's election campaign was also praised and the media always looks forward to talking with him

Someone like sher afzal marwat is seen as a leader by pti.....

Pti fans used to claim how bilawal eill never be pm, so now he is about to become one they cant digest it.

Bilawal seems to have developed a weird method of speech where he appears ultra relaxed and elongates words for some reason.

His urdu has improved tremendously. Sherry Rehman has done a good job there. He is one of the few people you see on TV who speaks fully in Urdu. He rarely uses English words when speaking Urdu.

If you give him a decent FM ( someone like HRK) and a bulldog Interior Minister he could have a decent regime that balances his laid back nature.

He shouldn't be in the position he is in...but I'd take him over the Sharifs anyday.

Having all those qualities (which he doesn’t) is good enough for you to have him serve as PM.

Imran has done nothing in his life to be a PM. He is not even a politician.

But, a guy who chose to live in a 3rd world when he could’ve lived a luxurious life in London or anywhere else and NO there’s nothing luxurious living in Pakistan even if you’re a multi-millionaire, left a billionaire wife, built hospitals through charity work, built his own party from scratch, campaigned for 20+ years…that sounds pretty straightforward, I’ll give that a go tomorrow morning.👍

I'd be a bit concerned with how even indirect criticism of him or his supporters isn't being toleratated, makes participating in debates about his qualities worthless. He's clearly being cleared to provide a face for the establishment.

Yeah he probably is which is a bit weird given the way the establishment have clamped down hard on PPP in the past.

But this is Pakistan. Sadly things aren't going to change. I'll take the guy who may be slightly corrupt but also have a little bit of nous than the kudos of the sharif family who's only job is to loot and steal.

Yes I realise being less corrupt is setting the bar very low, but thats sadly the best that can be achieved now.

Imran is a narcissist. A power hungry individual with a messiah complex. Living a quiet, retired life was not for him and politics was the natural next step for him after he retired from cricket.

Building a party from scratch is not difficult for one of the most popular celebrities in the country. He cashed on his popularity as a cricketer. The same people who were in love with him during his cricket days followed him to politics.

As far as his hospital is concerned, let’s not forget that it has been exposed as a political tool. SKMH exists to collect funds for PTI.

@Mamoon who you voted in kPK?
Didn’t vote this time. I don’t want to vote in a country knowing that my vote will have no significance against the votes of the uneducated masses who shouldn’t be allowed to vote in the first place.

Yes, and Bilawal came into politics because he was concerned for the welfare of his country, not after the money or power at all. LOL

That explains why he only won 1 seat in the NA, with about 200k votes. 🤣

What isn’t easy is to be made the chairman of a party that at the time was the second biggest party in Pakistan. The struggle Bilawal endured throughout his life is something even Mandela would’ve been inspired by.

Your problem is that you think of yourself as some Alpha male, you’re threatened by someone who takes the limelight. You’re jealous of someone that has lived a better life than you.

What a cop out. You couldn't vote for the PTI because you would have looked silly after years of hating on Kaptaan. I want to believe that your trolling is just that and it's not really you. I can't imagine a Doctor, even a flawed one supporting criminals that are killing, kidnapping and torturing people. If you genuinely support these people then may Allah have mercy on you and give you Hidāyah..

When someone has said many times that they don't believe the country should exist, then why should they vote for Bilawal, Sharif or Imran Khan? The logical answer if the country didn't exist would be to vote for the Indian PM which would be Modi.

There you have your answer.

I knew he would say that because everytime he actually nailed his colours to the mast " Real PM", "NS and Maryam are anti establishment" and 100s of others, he got humiliated.
Have you noticed how he never gives an answer. He runs from me faster tham Usain Bolt. I asked him straight out why he has never condemned the murder, kidnapping and torture of PKs. He like at @Rana runs. Rana was quick to condemn the chants of chore in the faces of chore but I dare he to tell me when he has condemned these heinous acts that any civilised person would condemn. Apparently " we" as he called the perpetrators have a right to kill PKs

PPP to back PML-N candidate for PM's slot but won't become part of govt in Centre

Despite days-long consultations between the two major parties of the country, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to back Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) candidate for the prime minister's slot but will not be a part of the federal government.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari made the major announcement during a news conference in Islamabad after the Central Executive Committee's (CEC) session on Tuesday, saying that he was withdrawing from the candidacy for prime minister's post as "the PPP doesn't have the mandate to form the federal government".

"It is a fact that the PPP does not have a mandate to form the federal government and due to that I will not be putting myself forward for the candidacy of the prime minister of Pakistan," said the 35-year-old politician, who ran the 2024 general election for the country's top slot.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PML-N, he said, had more numbers than his party in the National Assembly (NA), but since the former has announced that they would not engage in any dialogue with the PPP, there is no possibility of a PTI or independents-led government in the country.

It may be noted that PTI founder Imran Khan brushed off the possibility of forming a coalition government with PPP, PML-N or Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).

The young politician further stated that as the PPP is not in a position to form the government in the Centre, it would not be interested in taking federal ministries in the setup.

"We don’t want to see chaos in the country or perpetual crisis in the country," he said while setting aside the perception of re-election.

Revealing the reason behind backing the rival party's candidate for the coveted post, Bilawal said that the PPP decided to support the PML-N's candidate for the premiership to ensure political instability in the country.

Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed that the former ruling party, upon directions of its founder Imran Khan, will join hands with Majlis-e-Wahdat-Muslimeen (MWM) to form its governments in Centre and Punjab.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad on Tuesday, PTI spokesperson Raoof Hasan said that the former prime minister, while ruling out the prospects of any talks with the PML-N, PPP and MQM-P, has directed the party to form a coalition with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) over reserved seats.

The PTI's decision to join hands with the MWM — which has only secured one National Assembly seat — comes as its sponsored candidates, who have won 116 provincial assembly seats in Punjab, will have 72 hours to join a party once the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) notifies their win.

Good decision by PPP.

If PTI doesnt want to join them, than PPP should sit in opposition

What sort of opposition is it in which they are asking for the presidency along with the Senate and National Assembly speakership?

its all noora kushti nothing more than that.

The sort of opposition that can pocket half the perks but none of the blame. Cunning runs in the blood!

PPP are showing what munafiqs they are. It was only last week that Billo was telling us SS was the reason for the disaster of the last 2 years and today they announced that they would support his Pmship. IK was 100% right not deal with these crooks. IA Sindh will see change soon and these thugs will also become history like NS, JKT, PK and other losers

PPP is having a golden moment now. They don't have to face the curse of people yet they can enjoy all the perks of the government. All the blame will go to PML N yet again and PPP is going to enjoy the show. The biggest munafiqs of the country are joining hands once again to loot what's remaining of this country.

What grinds me is Billoo's 'know it all' pressers/interviews wherein given an opportunity he can supposedly rescue the country by himself. An extremely privileged child in an adults body, surrounded by wealth, political nepotism and never had to do a days of honest work in his entire life. A life that has zero achievements to show for himself and whenever challenged will use the 'my mother was also assassinated.....' card in a jiffy!

Now for the coming months/years he and his family will be 'pretend-opposition' pointing fingers at the appointed government while pocketing their share of the loot as well as using government privileges to travel all around the world to spew his stupidity. Have to give it to them.... Well played Bhuttos.... Shabaash!

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has ‘decided to vacate’ NA-196 Qambar-Shadadkot seat, the seat from where Benazir Bhutto contested elections, ARY News reported on Friday.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was declared the winner of National Assembly constituency NA-196 Shehdadkot-I with 85,370 votes.

His runner-up was Jamait Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl group (JUI-F) candidate Nasir Mehmood, who bagged 34,499 votes.

According to details, the former foreign minister has decided to keep NA-194, Larkana-I seat and to vacate NA-196, from where he was also declared the winner in the February 8 general elections.

Sources privy to the development said, Asif Bhutto Zardari will likely contest a by-election on NA-196.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Thursday directed candidates who have won more than one seat in the 8th February General Elections to retain only one seat of their choice and vacate others.

As per details, the ECP urged the candidates who emerged victorious from multiple constituencies to vacate the extra seats before administering the oath.

“Alternatively, by Article 223(2), if no action is taken within 30 days, all seats, except the one for which the candidate is ultimately declared successful, will be deemed vacant,” the ECP maintained.

Why not?

If THEY think he should lead Pakistan then he will be the prime minister. Personally think he is a much better choice than Maryam Nawaz.

Heard that Shahbaz Sharif is going to be a PM so what about this malfunctioned kid now?
Nothing, he'll bide his time and point fingers at the Sharifs as long as this government lasts. He'll sit on some International department/committee so that his global travel expenses are covered. Inflation, IMF, Debt, PTI & IK.... way too many issues and Billoo wants to keep his kameez clean. Joining this cabinet in any noticeable capacity will mean that he'll have to share the blame, so no he's not having that. The Sharifs are corrupt, Billoo is both a coward and corrupt.

Sindh govt to probe poll violence, provide justice, says Bilawal

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Saturday said the upcoming Sindh government led by the PPP would constitute a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe all violent incidents during the election campaign, promising exemplary punishments for those involved.

The PPP chief made these remarks after a visit to the residence of a party supporter whose 12-year-old nephew was killed in an apparent clash between two parties in New Karachi in the lead-up to elections. The PPP chairman met the victim’s family, offered condolences to his mother, Rasoola Bibi, and offered Fateha.

“By giving exemplary punishment to those involved in the violence as per the law, we will bring justice to our workers as well as all other political workers, while also ensuring that such incidents do not happen again,” he told reporters.

According to the PPP leader, there was alleged pressure on the victim’s family to announce that they were not associated with the PPP. He said that instead of providing justice to the victim’s family, the law enforcement agencies registered FIRs. He said that his party would not forget the injustices meted out to it during the recent general elections and the killing of the PPP workers.

The PPP chairman said: “We will not tolerate religious, linguistic and sectarian terrorism, neither in the metropolis nor in this province. Those parties who want to promote terrorism are mistaken…we will not allow this,” he warned.

Rigging protests

Speaking about protests against alleged irregularities in elections, the PPP chairman said the opposition parties holding protests against alleged rigging had never won an election in Sindh.

The PPP chairman said the 2024 elections were not much different from the 2018 elections, recalling: “I raised my objections to the election in front of the whole of Pakistan after the (party’s) Central Executive Committee meeting.”

According to Forms-45, PPP candidates had won PS-124 and PS-125, but candidates from other parties had been declared successful in these constituencies, he claimed.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari said the PPP would take its case to relevant forums and if it did not get justice, then the party would chart its future course. He said that those who are protesting “unnecessarily” in the name of rigging in Sindh these days had not won a single election in the past.

PTI-SIC alliance

Responding to a question about the PTI, Mr Bhutto-Zardari said that “now the Sunni Ittehad Council should tell the truth to its workers that it does not have the majority to form the government”.

He added that the PTI did not stop Shehbaz Sharif from becoming the prime minister. “If Shehbaz Sharif is going to become the prime minister, he will thank us and the PTI, [because] I think Khan sahib himself would have decided not to field a candidate against Shehbaz Sharif,” he said.

On the issue of former prime minister Imran Khan writing a letter to the IMF, the PPP chairman said that “writing a letter against Pakistan” to the lender would not accomplish anything. “However, after this letter, the real face of the person who loves his politics more than the national interest has been exposed,” the PPP chairman said.

SIC did not even try to convince me to not vote for Shehbaz, says Bilawal

Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that the party had decided to vote for “those who had come to ask” for the prime minister’s election.

He said that the Sunni Ittehad Council, which is now home to PTI-backed independents, did not ask for his vote. “Now how are they objecting that someone is forming the government? […] they were not in any position to form a government in any situation,” he said.

“They decided themselves that they will not ask. So the only option we have is to give a chance to those asking […] PPP will give its input using the parliamentary system,” he said.

“We are thankful to the SIC, they had Maryam Nawaz elected chief minister unopposed. They also did not oppose election of Murad Ali Shah. They did not ask for my vote or convince me not to vote for Shehbaz Sharif, so I think we should thank the PTI and SIC that Shehbaz will also be elected unopposed.”

Who is Bilawal trying to fool, SIC knew PPP-PMLN is a nexus, also by voting for SS Bilawal is at loss this will be a stain for him in future that he directed PDM & PDM+.

I still doubt that he ever went to Oxford because the way he speaks looks more like he did his matric from Chunnia Public School.

To be honest I would rather have Bilawal as the next PM as the guy definitely very empathic person at least he will do something for the poor people deprived of basic needs , he is definitely not money hungry type as well.

Bilawal hopes new APNS office-bearers will promote democratic values

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended warm congratulations to the recently elected office-bearers of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) on their well-deserved victory.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his congratulatory message addressed to the newly elected office bearers, saying: “The victory in the election is a manifestation of the trust and confidence your colleagues have in you.” He emphasized that Pakistan is currently facing a challenging period, and in these circumstances, the role of the media and the leadership of APNS is crucial.

He highlighted that the media plays an important role in shaping public opinion and promoting democratic values. “Under your esteemed leadership, it is our sincere hope that the APNS will make even greater contributions to the growth and integrity of the press than ever before,” he added. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed confidence that the bilateral and constructive cooperation between the PPP and APNS will persist, fostering continued progress and collaboration for the betterment of the country

PPP to work with other parties to fix Balochistan’s issues

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said the issues and challenges facing Balochistan would be resolved through reconciliation and consultation with other political parties and leaders as one person or a single party alone could not tackle them.

“The guiding principle for my party’s government in Balochistan is the philosophy of reconciliation as envisioned by former prime minister Benazir Bhutto,” he said while speaking at a press conference at the CM Secretariat after attending the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti here on Saturday.

Mr Bugti, PPP’s Balochistan president Mir Changez Jamali, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Engineer Zamrak Khan Piralizai of the ANP, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran of the PML-N and Mir Zia Langove of the BAP were also present at the press conference.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari affirmed the PPP’s commitment to collaborate with all political parties, both within and outside parliament, to effectively address the challenges faced by Balochistan.

Outlining his party’s priorities for future political activities, he said: “I will spend less time in Islamabad and more time in Quetta and Karachi.” He expressed gratitude to all political parties present in the Balochistan Assembly for their support in the election of his party’s nominee as the chief minister.

The PPP chairman, while replying to a question, emphasised that the issue of missing persons is a concern for the entire country and called for constituting a parliamentary committee to address the matter.

“We invite all parties to join the PPP in establishing the committee as our aim is to seek solution through reconciliation and coordination,” he said, adding that the PPP, in consultations with all political parties, will make efforts to solve people’s problems.

He said the Balochistan government would be run according to the philosophy and ideology of the PPP, emphasising that his mother Benazir Bhutto’s last book was on reconciliation.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari mentioned that his party had contested the elections based on a 10-point manifesto, adding that had the PPP formed the government at the Centre, it would have implemented stringent measures to provide relief to the people.

“Now that the PPP has formed governments in Sindh and Balochistan, our commitment is to pursue the implementation of the ‘people’s economic agreement’ despite limited resources in the two provinces,” he added.

The PPP chairman said a “party of martyrs” is now ruling Balochistan, and it would be ensured that its people no longer have to endure further martyrdoms.

He also reiterated that terrorism and extremism would be eliminated through implementation of the National Action Plan.

“We fought terrorists in Swat and Waziristan,” he said, adding that they would again address the issue of terrorism through a policy involving dialogue, deterrence and development.

Responding to a question, the PPP chairman said the 18th Constitution Amendment and the NFC Award were actually the demands of Balochistan, which were fulfilled by the previous PPP government.

He mentioned that Aghaz-i-Haqooq Balochistan was initiated by former president Asif Ali Zardari, adding that had it been implemented, the situation in Balochistan would have been different at that time.

He the newly elected CM would visit Gwadar, a city severely affected by recent rains, and personally assess the situation there, conduct a thorough review, and make announcements regarding assistance for the affected people.

Bilawal campaigns for father on eve of presidential election

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari kept campaigning for his father till the eve of the presidential election as he hosted the lawmakers of National Assembly and the Senate on Friday.

The PPP chairman also met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and provincial assembly members earlier in the day.

During the gathering held at Sindh House in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the support for PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari, who is the coalition’s joint candidate for the presidential elections being held today (Saturday).

The parliamentarians, all of whom would vote in the election, also assured the PPP leader of their support.

Heads of all parties in the ruling alliance were present in the reception, including the PPP leaders, MQM-P’s Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Aleem Khan, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) President Khalid Magsi and Professor Sajid Mir.

A source in the PPP said

Mr Zardari had not invited Pakis-tan Muslim League-Zia President Ijazul Haq.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Zardari thanked coalition partners for their support and vowed to work together to overcome the prevailing economic and political crisis.

“We know there are gigantic crises ahead, but we can jointly overcome them,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Shehbaz assured the PPP leader of the full support of his party’s lawmakers in Centre and Punjab.

On the other hand, Mr Zardari’s opponent, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party’s (PkMAP) Mahmood Khan Achakzai, also hosted a reception at the Islamabad Club.

Bilawal meets Maryam

The PPP chairman met with CM Maryam and Punjab Assembly MPAs at the Governor’s House and sought votes for his father.

The PML-N, PPP, PML-Q and IPP lawmakers were present at the gathering where Mr Bhutto-Zardari and Ms Sharif sat side by side and addressed them.

As the former called for national reconciliation, the latter censured PTI founder Imran Khan and outgoing President Arif Alvi for “being partisan”.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari underscored the need to make his father the president as he is someone who would take the country “towards the path of reconciliation” at the time of divisions.

“The PTI divided the nation, but we will find a solution to bridge this divide,” Mr Bhutto-Zardari said, adding this political divide has led to a situation where “we can’t even shake hands with our opponent”.

“We will have to bury the politics of divide and hatred and [political] parties would have to move forward together.”

The Punjab chief minister said Mr Bhutto-Zardari didn’t even ask her party members to vote for his father, but they’d vote for Mr Zardari as he was PML-N’s presidential candidate.

“The presidency needs a person like Mr Zardari and not the incumbent [Alvi],” CM Maryam said, and claimed that the outgoing president protected PTI’s interests and “abrogated the Constitution”.

“He will not be remembered in good words,” she said and even called PTI “cartoon network.”

“Bilawal had rightly called them [PTI leaders] cartoons. The cartoon network running in Pakistan should be shut down now.”

Ms Sharif added that the common agenda of coalition parties — PML-N, PPP, PML-Q, IPP and PML-Zia — is to rid the country of crises.

Ms Sharif added that all PML-N MPAs and allies would vote for Mr Zardari today.

She said the MPAs had been given the briefing on how to vote in the presidential election.

Fazl ‘cold-shoulders’ PPP

Separately, a PPP delegation also called upon JUI-F emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman and sought support for their candidate in the presidential elections.

According to a statement issued by JUI-F, the delegation led by former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani also included other PPP leaders Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Khursheed Shah.

Sources said the JUI-F emir categorically announced that his party would stay away from the election and not vote for any side.

JUI-F leaders Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Ghulam Ali, Maulana Abdul Wasey and others were also present in the meeting.

Bilawal stresses reforms for speedy justice

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Thursday underlined the need for introducing judicial reforms in the country in line with the Charter of Democracy, which was reached between the late Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif decades ago.

Ninety per cent of the points mentioned in the charter of democracy have been implemented, he claimed, adding that now is the time to go for judicial reforms so that people could get justice.

People of Pakistan face certain difficulties in getting justice, Mr Bhutto-Zardari told a gathering of polling agents and in-charges of the election campaign for the Sindh Assembly’s constituency PS-10. The meeting was held at the camp office of presidency in Naudero, marking the death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The PPP leader said that after the Supreme Court’s recent short order in the Z.A. Bhutto case time has come to introduce judicial reforms in the country. He appealed to the federal government to carry out judicial reforms to ensure speedy justice to people.

He noted that the judgement in the Z.A. Bhutto reference filed by President Asif Ali Zardari came after a long struggle.

He stated that due to the holy month of Ramazan the death anniversary of Z.A. Bhutto would now be held on April 13 or 14, adding that the party would make a final decision in this regard. He said the future event would be a historic one since it would be held in the wake of the Supreme Court’s short order in the Bhutto case.

The PPP leader pointed out that during the election campaign he had stated that no party would be able to form its government without the PPP’s support, adding that his prediction stands proved today.

“We took part in elections, but could not secure a simple majority to form our government. Therefore, we decided to lend support to the federal government with the sole objective of addressing the issues of poverty, economic crisis, price hike and unemployment,” he said. The federal government should be given time to deliver and pull the people out of the economic crisis, he added.

About PPP’s governments in Sindh and Balochistan, he said those who won the elections should now be ready to make efforts to find out solution to people’s problems.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari asked Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to call upon ministers to hold open kutcheris in different districts to have first-hand knowledge of the issues and prepare development plans in consultation with the area people. He said funds for the execution of development schemes would be released to provide relief to people.

Talking about the ‘Awami Muashi Muahida’, which was launched during the PPP’s election campaign, he said efforts would be made to implement in letter and spirit its contents by the PPP-led governments in Sindh and Balochistan. “We are trying to extend relief to people in their energy bills through solar energy systems and would also provide relief to farmers through the Kissan Card,” he added.

The PPP chairman said that the energy minister had assured him of providing relief to the masses through the solar system, adding that process had already started to launch the Benazir Mazdoor Card.

Bilawal seeks tripartite dialogue on terror

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday demanded the government to initiate tripartite dialogue with neighbouring countries to curb the menace of re-surging terrorism.

“The suicide attack in Karachi is a reminder that the menace of terrorism is once again rising in Pakistan. The federal and provincial governments will have to take action against terrorists and ensure to engage the neighbouring countries to take action against them,” the PPP chief said while talking to the media outside the Parliament House.

The PPP chief said that as a foreign minister he had held a tripartite dialogue at the foreign ministry among the foreign ministers of China, Afghanistan and Pakistan, adding, “We should have similar efforts to eliminate terrorists.”

Bilawal welcomed the action taken by the National Assembly speaker against opposition members over trying to disrupt the parliamentary proceedings.

He criticised the opposition lawmakers belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying that PPP was not afraid of any “forest monkeys”, rather these people were afraid of an unarmed girl, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, therefore, they resorted to ruckus during her oath taking in the National Assembly.

“The [Pakistan] Peoples Party is never afraid of such tactics. For three generations we have fought against dictators like Gen Zia and Gen Musharraf and have defeated them through democracy. We will still face them democratically,” Bilawal said.

The PPP chief stressed that people's representatives should fulfill their responsibilities but regretted that the current the opposition did not want to play its due role in parliament. Instead, he added the opposition’s objective was to take NRO – a reference to political amnesty granted by Gen Musharraf in 2007 – for their leader.

Instead, he added the opposition’s objective was to take NRO – a reference to political amnesty granted by Gen Musharraf in 2007 – for their leader.

“The opposition's style of protest was undemocratic. Their behavior undermined the sanctity of the house. Unfortunately, because of their behavior, the speaker was forced to suspend the membership of the two opposition members.”

Bilawal praised the address of President Asif Zardari, who is also the co-chairman of the PPP, to the joint sitting of parliament on Thursday. “The Peoples Party made history yesterday and President Zardari addressed the joint session for the record seventh time yesterday,” he said.

“President Zardari highlighted the issues, whose resolution is the need of the hour. President Zardari gave the message yesterday that we have to forge unity to solve the problems of Pakistan. We should think of the country instead of our political differences. We should think about this people.”

When asked about Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s announcement of protest in Sindh, Bilawal said that Fazl had been given a wrong impression by his party people that he lost the elections in Sindh because of rigging. “He should protest in Dera Ismail and Peshawar and not in Sindh.”

Bilawal may return as foreign minister

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is likely to return as the country's foreign minister as the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and PPP were close to finalising a power-sharing deal, according to people familiar with the development.

If the insiders are to be believed, Bilawal would join the cabinet of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as foreign minister. They said that an understanding between the party bigwigs was reached recently during their talks.

They claimed that Bilawal, who was initially reluctant to join the cabinet, agreed to become the foreign minister once again. The two sides are now working on the details and the timing of PPP formally joining the cabinet.

Sources said PM Shehbaz wanted the PPP to join the cabinet before the next budget to be presented in the first week of June. It is, however, not clear whether the PPP joins the cabinet before or after the budget. One thing is certain: the PPP will be part of the cabinet in June, according to sources.

The incumbent foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, was appointed as deputy prime minister to allow room for Bilawal to become the top diplomat.

Sources said that Dar's office was being set up at the Prime Minister's Office, and he would operate from there once he vacates the Foreign Office for Bilawal.

Dar, according to sources, was never comfortable as foreign minister as he always wanted to look after his favourite Finance Ministry. But Shehbaz and others in the PML-N wanted to keep him at bay.

Nevertheless, he managed to convince the prime minister to appoint him as his deputy. As deputy PM, he could potentially oversee the government's economic policies once again.

Meanwhile, there has been a feeling within the PPP that Bilawal, when he served as foreign minister during the PDM government for 16 months, greatly enhanced his local and international profile.

They believe that Bilawal's return to the Foreign Office would only benefit him and his party. The final decision regarding PPP joining the cabinet will be taken by its Central Executive Committee (CEC).

After the February 8 elections, the PPP decided to back PML-N to form the government but refused to join the cabinet. There was, however, an understanding between the two parties that PPP would be part of the government at a later stage.

Since the PML-N fulfilled its commitment by letting the PPP appoint its men as governors in three provinces besides clinching two other constitutional positions, the presidency and the chairmanship of Senate, the PPP would return the favour by joining the cabinet.

Sources in the Foreign Office said that Bilawal is a good choice as he proved himself to be an able foreign minister during his 16-month stint before the elections.

As it has been challenged in court for Ishaq Dar being deputy prime minister, I guess they want to keep Ishaq Dar as deputy prime minister so they will make Bilawal foreign minister.

Bilawal forms committee to engage with govt over privatisation

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has constituted a committee to engage with government over privatisation issues.

The members of the committee included Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar and Saleem Mandviwalla, said a notification issued by Chairman’s Secretariat.

Ten companies have reportedly shown their interest in acquiring the majority stakes in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), it emerged last week.

Sources told ARY News 10 companies including three domestic aviation companies have submitted their applications for tenders.

Fly Jinnah, AirSial, Arif Habib Group, Shujaat Azeem Group’s consortium, Tabba, Tariq Group and Sehgal groups have also shown interest in acquiring the majority of PIA shares, the sources said.

The last date of PIA privatisation was May 3 (today) which has now been extended to 18 with aim of providing such companies with ample time to finalise their proposals.

The Federal Minister for Privatisation, Abdul Aleem Khan, in his statement asserted that there will be no further extension beyond this deadline for the submission of declarations of interest for national flag carrier.

The Privatisation Commission and the PIA administration also conducted various roadshows but failed to achieve much success, sources said.

The process should be expedited because it is in the best interest of Pakistan.

The PPP are always showing themselves to be the Munafiqs they are. On the one hand they love the trappings of power with their alliance with the Junta and on the other hand, they like to pretend they are the opposition.

I think Bilawal's idea of being a foreign minister would be him getting to do the job in a foreign country. Dubai McDonalds and ice cream zindabad!

'Politics of hypocrisy': Bilawal takes opposition to task in fiery NA speech

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari attacked the opposition in a fiery speech on Wednesday stating that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers lecture about the “rule of law” on one hand while “inviting interference” on the other.

Addressing the National Assembly session, Bilawal referred to President Zardari's speech as "short and sweet" and stated that the president's words were neither "political nor personal".

He added that the president advocated for dialogue, deeming "dialogue as the only solution to problems". Bilawal also stated that the president established Pakistan's policy regarding Kashmir and Palestine "categorically."

Taking a dig at the opposition, the PPP chairman alleged that the opposition should look at themselves as elected candidates; "they cannot look beyond themselves".

The former foreign minister urged the opposition to seek solutions for the nation's problems instead of focusing on their personal issues, alleging that the opposition has forgotten that they represent the nation.

He said, according to them, they are fighting for the "rule of law," but surprisingly will not talk to any elected representatives but only to the establishment. "They are not interested in democracy, nor the rule of law, only in their personal issues."

"It is the politics of hypocrisy," he added.

He further criticised the opposition, "Protests are their democratic right; however, working for the nation's welfare should be their priority."

Referring to the upcoming budget, Bilawal said the government and opposition both should "play their part" in the budget.

Referring to the Sindh government's work in healthcare as a "historic success," Bilawal claimed that people from all provinces travel to Sindh for treatment.

The PPP chairman also stated that the Sindh government has targeted the structural issues in the education department. He talked about the issue of "ghost teachers" and explained that through the introduction of a biometric system, the issue was largely taken care of.

Referring to protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Bilawal noted the prime minister's intervention and said that he was thankful for the prime minister's allocation of funds towards Kashmiris as it was their rightful demand.

Bilawal also talked about the wheat scandal, urging the premier to probe the matter. "Agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan's economy."

The PPP chairman suggested that instead of spending billions on subsidies, the government should incentivize farmers through a kisan card and noted that the agriculture sector is struggling due to inconsistent policies and "political" decisions.

He urged the government to impose an "agriculture emergency" as a 10-year policy. The PPP chairman further urged the government to remove restrictions on exports.

The khusra has been nationalised. He can't break wind without the Generals as they hold the Omni group files and him and his daddy are looking at long sentences.

PTI founder is reaping what he sowed: Bilawal

Speaking at the PPP’s parliamentary party meeting in Karachi, Bilawal discussed the current political situation of the country, stating that PTI founder Imran Khan’s current condition is a result of his previous actions.

The PPP chairman said that such issues will continue to arise until democratic principles are not adopted.

Speaking on the Sindh government’s performance, Bilawal said that there is need to improve governance with limited resources. He said solar power supply is an important part of the PPP’s Sindh government plan.

The PPP chairman said that he would review performance of the Sindh government every six months and will also take reports from each minister.

“You all have worked hard to achieve historic successes,” Bilawal told the PPP parliamentarians. He said that the PPP is a party of common men, asking the lawmakers to be present in their respective constituencies while maintaining attendance in the assemblies.

Bilawal said that law enforcement agencies have been directed to play a key role in combating terrorism. He expressed hope that the new interior minister will eradicate the menace of terrorism the target with the cooperation of all institutions.

Earlier, the PPP chairman slammed PTI for its ‘double standards’ over remarks regarding dialogue with the establishment, ARY News reported.

During his speech in the National Assembly, Bilawal said that PTI only care about their personal issues and not about the problems faced by the common man.

He said that the PPP believes in democracy and wants to solve the problems faced by the people, but PTI is only interested in its personal agenda.

Lashing out at PTI he said that they have been given a chance to govern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but they have failed to deliver. Bilawal criticized PTI for its double standards, saying that they talk about democracy but do not practice it.

Did they say what they found impressive about him? Was it the Justin Bieber posters on his bedroom wall or his respect for his elders and allowing his father to script his speeches for him?

Bilawal has disappointed more than MNS ,he is totally spineless shadowed by his crook father and their province Sindh a perfect case study of lawlessness loot plunder and mafias

Pull your socks up, Bilawal asks PPP ministers, lawmakers

Telling his party members and legislators to stay away from the “politics of hatred in Islamabad”, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Wednesday asked them to focus on improving their performance and serving the people, for which they had been elected, and warned them that from now on he would personally review their performance after every six months.

He said he had shared his ‘ambitious’ five-year plan with the Sindh government and its implementation was his top priority.

The PPP chairman sounded least bothered about the national politics and asked his ministers and legislators to avoid engaging into these matters.

Addressing the provincial parliamentary party meeting of the PPP at CM House, Mr Bhutto-Zardari outlined key objectives for the Sindh government.

He said implementation of solar energy initiatives, welfare of labourers, improvements in education, promotion of public-private partnerships in mines and minerals sector, provision of modern and affordable transport facilities, improving law and order, rehabilitation of flood victims, and immediate allocation of residential plot ownership rights to women from flood-affected families were his main priorities.

He asked the provincial ministers and legislators to focus on solving the province’s issues and accelerate development efforts.

He asked MPAs they should ensure their attendance in House and maintain constant contact with the people of their constituencies.

“I want you to stop the politics of transfer-postings,” he said. “Let’s improve the government performance. The appointments and transfers of officers should be based on merit. Ministers and legislators should monitor the performance of officers. If we want better government service delivery, we must give opportunities to capable officers.”

The PPP chairman was of the view that the infighting within the party would adversely affect the government’s performance and said that from now on he would personally review the performance of ministers after every six months.

“I don’t want the delivery of services by the party and its government to suffer at all,” he warned.

“I have always encouraged teamwork. We are in politics solely to serve the poor people of the country. I have shared the five-year plan with the chief minister and its implementation is my top priority.”

He said that the aim was to provide free electricity through solar power to the poor people of Sindh and develop green solar parks under public-private partnerships.

Discussing the education sector, he mentioned that 50 per cent of schools in Sindh were damaged by floods. The provincial government has allocated funds for their reconstruction, and it is hoped that the federal government will also fulfil its promise in this regard, he added.

He said development schemes or big projects alone couldn’t bring any success for the party as it’s always the contact of the elected representatives with the people of their constituencies which helped build strong public support.

“The people are growing increasingly disillusioned with the politics of hatred and division prevailing in Islamabad,” said the PPP chairman.

“Why should we concern ourselves with what Imran Khan is doing? Who cares? He has his own legal matters to address. We have a mandate to serve the people. We have to meet the people’s expectations which are quite high after they gave us mandate. Now we need to work tirelessly to meet the expectations of the people.”

Bilawal points to dialogue as only way out of political crisis

Criticising political leaders both in the government and in the opposition and “politics of hatred in Islamabad,” Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Friday called for dialogue among all democratic forces to strength the parliament, saying it was only way forward to take the country out of the crisis.

He also urged the political leadership to shed their “ego” and “personal issues” for the sake of the country and warned that such attitude could lead to irreparable loss.

“The politics of hatred in Islamabad is at its peak,” he said while speaking to a rally in Lyari’s Chakiwara area, which was organised to mark the 71st birth celebrations of Benazir Bhutto.

“There’re many leaders who’re not even ready to talk. They don’t want to even shake hands with each other. I urge them all once again that all political parties, whether they’re in the government or opposition, initiate dialogue with all political forces. Don’t let your ego or personal issues dominate this process. If you want to bring Pakistan out of economic crisis and strengthen the parliament, you would have to talk to democratic forces.”

He referred to her mother’s connection with Karachi, calling the people of Lyari her “Ladlas” [darlings] and claimed that development of the city had always been their prime objective since he had entered the politics.

“Since entering politics, I have been struggling for the development of this city,” he stated.

“I have asked Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to prioritise Karachi’s issues. The problems which emerged during the caretaker government are now being resolved, thanks to the relentless efforts of the Chief Minister and his team.”

He admitted that the current water supply was insufficient for Karachi due to constantly growing population of the city.

He announced that the Sindh government was ready to initiate a project to supply water from the Hub Dam to address this issue, with allocation of funds in the budget 2024-25.

Regarding power outages, he noted that it is a nationwide problem, with loadshedding lasting 16 to 18 hours across Sindh, Balochistan, southern Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He expressed concern that people were losing faith in federal power agencies.

He said that the Sindh government would launch a new project in the upcoming financial year to provide free solar systems to poor families and subsidised solar panels to the middle class.

He said unemployment was the country’s biggest issue, emphasising that the Sindh government was developing projects to create job opportunities for the youth.

He reiterated the vow to fulfil his mother’s vision and emphasised that those who “believed” that the PPP would collapse after Benazir Bhutto’s assassination had proved wrong.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari said that Benazir Bhutto shared both challenging and joyful times with the people of Karachi recalling her wedding ceremony which was held at Kakri Ground and his birth at Lady Dufferin Hospital.

He said that three generations of his family had fought for the rights of Karachi’s people and he would continue to raise his voice for the people of the business capital.

Bilawal calls for defeating narrative of terrorism

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Thursday emphasised the need to counter terrorism by defeating its narrative and underscored the importance of restoring peace and political stability in Balochistan through grassroots political processes.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari made these remarks during a meeting at the Chief Minister Secretariat after he arrived in Quetta on a two-day visit.

The meeting was attended by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, provincial ministers, the chief secretary, and the inspector general of police.

The PPP chairman urged the provincial government to expedite the compensation process for those affected by the 2022 floods. “The housing project for the flood-affected should be accelerated. Every possible step should be taken to assist the calamity-stricken people of Balochistan and Sindh,” he stated.

He praised the development of Balochistan’s first youth policy, stressing that its implementation was crucial to provide the youth with more opportunities.

During the briefing, Mr Bhutto-Zardari was briefed on several flagship programmes in Balochistan, including the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Programme, People’s Air Ambulance, and People’s Green Bus Service. Other initiatives mentioned were the establishment of the NICVD and the Gambat Institute of Liver Transplant in Quetta, the Skilled Workers Card Programme, and the Rescue 1122 Service.

A new project to convert over 30,000 agricultural tube wells to solar energy has commenced, and subsidies for tractors will be provided to support Balochistan’s farmers. Besides, Rs10 billion has been allocated for a new phase of the Kachhi Canal project from the Indus River, and Rs4bn for interest-free loans to unemployed graduates.

Under the Youth Skills Development Programme, around 30,000 young people will be trained over two years and provided employment opportunities abroad.

Judiciary turned storm in a teacup into full-blown constitutional crisis: Bilawal

The PPP chairman while speaking on the floor of the National Assembly lashed out at the higher judiciary for its decisions regarding PTI before and after the general elections, especially on the matter of reserved seats, saying the seats were being distributed amongst them as if they were “candy”.

“In Pakistan currently, a storm in a teacup is being transformed into a full-blown constitutional crisis,” the PPP chief said, “not me, not the speaker, not the members, PM or the Parliament but the judiciary itself is responsible for this crisis.” He further added that “this is a crisis of the judiciary, by the judiciary and for the judiciary.”

During his speech, the PPP chairman said that the Leader of the Opposition in NA, Omar Ayub, should be asked whether it was the ruling political parties who snatched PTI’s iconic ‘bat’ symbol. Bilawal then answered himself by saying that it was the court that stated that their internal elections were rigged which is why they could not get a symbol and would not be considered a political party.

“This last-minute decision benefitted a dead political party, with no election campaign,” Bilawal said, saying “it mobilised it [PTI].” Referring to recent clarification by the Supreme Court that this was not the intention behind depriving the PTI of bat symbol, Bilawal quipped: “A decision then was made to distribute the seats amongst them as if they are candy.”

As long as the country does not adopt the Constitution, law and a democratic demeanour, and its institutions not work within their boundaries, Bilawal maintained, the purpose behind building this city – Islamabad – and lawmakers’ presence would remain futile. “Our only advice would be for political discourse to take place to reclaim the space of politicians sans the political hatred and division,” he said.

Meanwhile, while speaking in the assembly, Bilawal said that the country was witnessing a plethora of crises, and has not been able to effectively address issues such as inflation and worsening law and order. “We are not even able to form the bare minimum consensus on protecting the country from terrorism,” he regretted.

While further regretting that “we are hurling insults at each other on the television”, Bilawal urged that we would have to devise a way to compete with each other within political domains and try to resolve the issues faced by the people.

The political workers are closely monitoring the situation in Bangladesh, Bilawal said, while citing an example. The protests that erupted there were over a quota for the martyrs of their Army, he said, adding the quota had been removed by ex-PM Sheikh Haseena Wajid herself in 2018 but was restored by the court. “The protests could not be stopped and Hasina Wajid had to leave her post,” Bilawal said, “the entire region should learn from this and address the real issues of the people.”

Chairman Bilawal said that the crisis of the month is the distance between institutions, noting that it is being created by the continuous interference of “an institution [judiciary] with this institution [Parliament]”.

The history of the judiciary is before the entire country, he said, adding, “Our judiciary has also broken world records; Pakistan’s judiciary is so capable that it not only runs the court but also builds dams.” “The judiciary can even combat inflation and set the prices of tomatoes and samosas,” he said, “no judiciary in the world can compete with our judiciary.”

Chairman Bilawal said that the citizens of the country still await justice but “we are thankful to the judiciary to have given us justice after a three-generation long struggle on our end, that began with Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s martyrdom.” The judiciary admitted that he was not given a fair trial, he said, but they could not take any clear step to right this wrong.

Meanwhile, Bilawal congratulated Olympic champion, Arshad Nadeem, on his victory in the Paris Olympics. He said that Arshad made history by creating a new Olympic record and bringing home the gold medal for Pakistan. “This is proof that the Pakistani youth, when given the opportunity, emerge victorious,” he said.

Bilawal called for consensus in the House over supporting youth in Pakistan, as they are capable of achieving such accolades. In Lyari alone, he said, every other youngster is capable of bringing home the FIFA World Cup due to the influx of talent. The PPP chief said that recently, he met young girls in Peshawar who are competing in Taekwondo from DI Khan and bringing medals for Pakistan.

“It is unfortunate that neither the federal government nor the provincial government provided the necessary support,” he noted, “in the next Olympics, every province of Pakistan should win a medal.” He also advised the Federal Minister for Sports to establish an endowment fund in collaboration with all provincial ministers for this purpose.

Bilawal said that the talents of the Pakistani youth and the skills of the labour have turned vast deserts such as the Middle East into major cities. He said that there is every possible resource available within Pakistan. Islamabad was made only to serve the people of the country, he said, these buildings house the biggest institutions of the country.

There is the presence of an entire battalion of bureaucracy in the country along with all the politicians and other powerful entities. However, he noted, ever since this city was made, we have never fulfilled the purpose for what it was created. “We begin concocting conspiracies and fighting amongst one another,” Bilawal said, “we keep bearing losses due to the infighting between politicians and the adventurism of the military generals.”

“The politics of hate and division is at the peak with unprecedented polarisation,” he regretted.

"Pakistan Can Win FIFA World Cup," Says Bilawal Bhutto After Arshad Nadeem's Olympic Gold

Arshad Nadeem made history for Pakistan at the Paris Olympics 2024 after he returned with the gold medal from the javelin throw. In a field that had several stars including India's Neeraj Chopra, Arshad Nadeem came up with a monstrous throw of 92.97m to take home the gold. It was an Olympic record and helped Pakistan win their first individual gold at the Games. Bilwal Bhutto, who is a member of National Assembly of Pakistan, congratulated Nadeem and declared that Pakistan can win the FIFA World Cup too if given support.

"Not only Olympics or Cricket, we can win the FIFA World Cup if we give them little support. I want to congratulate Arshad Nadeem for his win. We all appreciate his win. He made the impossible possible with his hard work. He is returning home with the Olympic gold medal. It shows when Pakistan youngsters are given opportunity, what they can achieve," Bilawal Bhutto told in the National Assembly of Pakistan on Friday.

"In Karachi's Lyari, every second kid can win the FIFA World Cup. I went to Peshawar two-three weeks ago, some girls from there won medals in taekwondo. We should aim that Pakistan will have medal winners from all areas in the nest Olympics. I would request the Pakistan sports minister to establish a fund to support and scout the talented athletes. That way we can produce Arshad Nadeems from all areas of Pakistan."

Bilawal asks for detailed report on rain damage, relief efforts from Sindh CM

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has requested a detailed report from Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah regarding the damage caused by ongoing rains in the province and the relief measures taken by the provincial government.

According to a press release from Bilawal House's media cell on Sunday, Bilawal expressed his regret over the damage caused by the heavy rains in various areas of Sindh. He instructed Shah to provide a comprehensive report on the losses and relief activities in the province, including Sukkur, Larkana, and Khairpur.

The PPP chairman noted that the Sukkur and Larkana divisions are once again bearing the brunt of climate change impacts. He directed the mayors of Sukkur and Larkana to ensure the prompt drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas in their cities.

He also called for an immediate investigation into the breach of a dam in Khairpur district and stressed the importance of minimising damage, and ensuring that relief reaches the affected individuals swiftly.

Bilawal emphasised that the Relief and Rehabilitation Department and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) must fulfill their responsibilities in aiding the rain-affected population. He assured the victims that the PPP will not abandon them in their time of need.

He will steal any money sent. The Khusra robs the weakest in society. How do these people sleep at night

Bilawal has been a massive disappointment even more than MNS who is already in her 50s ,but Bilawal being young and educated alot was expected from him yet he is surrounded by fuedals mafias and extortionates.

For Bilawal to put his political career, PPP should come out of coalition govt and why not manipulate for power. Because in Pakistan power politics is the only way to achieve something

Can he really become the PM in the future? Or just a lot of hot gas?

You’re asking like his party would need the votes to win an election.

The establishment will make him the PM when they fall out with PML-N.

PTI had the chance to end the cycle, give the power back to the people, but Imran Khan wasn’t ruthless enough.

Federal constitutional court a ‘necessity’ to end provincial disparity: Bilawal

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday said that a federal constitutional court was “a necessity to end provincial disparities”, among other things.

The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) was part of a broader set of legislation, which the government wanted to introduce under the controversial ‘Constitutional Package’.

A draft of the proposed amendments circulating in the media gave an idea about the government’s plan to modify the powers of the apex court. The government, which pulled back from pushing the Constitutional Package through parliament, has neither owned nor denied the rumoured draft.

As per the reported draft, the government intends to add 184(A) to the Constitution to empower the FCC to interpret the Constitution and hear appeals against any law passed by the parliament.

Likewise, under the proposed Article 184(A)(2), appeals against the decisions of high courts would also be heard by the FCC.

Another proposed change is to transfer all pending appeals against the orders of high courts to the FCC after the constitutional amendment is passed. Meanwhile, the government also intends to amend the Constitution to give the FCC “exclusive and original jurisdiction” other than the Supreme Court to decide any dispute between federal and provincial governments.

Addressing the Sindh High Court Bar Association on the issue today, Bilawal said: “If we want to strengthen this judicial system, want that our citizens are given speedy justice and that there is no longer any disparity between the provinces, which is the most important thing, then an FCC is a necessity and a need.”

He said when the PPP demanded that an FCC be formed, it also stressed that equal provincial representation would be required, with its chief justice on rotation, allowing every provincial representative to have their turn at the position.

Bilawal said the process of judicial appointments needed reform. Stressing the need for constitutional courts, he said only 15 per cent of the Supreme Court’s cases were constitutional, “yet these occupy 90pc of [the court’s] time”.

“We will make the FCC as we decided in the past and it will look at issues of the Constitution and political cases,” the PPP leader said.

“We will ensure we will make the constitutional court” so no prime minister could be removed from office.“
