Not sure why lankans opted to field in 1st ODI.

By the way, when last BD Captain won a toss?

Bd should restrict easy runs. Not happy with fielding  If bd be complacent they would lose this match for sure.

Not sure why SL has dropped Kumara after one bad game and replacing him with Nuwan Pradeep isnt smart either he is a test bowler.

Good pullback after first 3 overs. But need 1 more in PP.

Tharanga is going along nicely but Mendis what the hell. 7 of 24 a sr. of 30. Why doesn't SL drop this kid he is only good for Test.

13 of the Mustafizur's second over with 4 leg byes, looks like Srilanka is taking charge on him.

This looks like an excellent batting strip.

Lanka would like to score 300. Bangladesh would like to restrict Lanka to below 280

Bangladesh need to patient. On this wicket there is no real purchase.

Good comeback by Mustafizur, still no wickets.Srilanka surely looking for over 300.

nice to see Mendis playing well, he started off slowly, but later recovered and played his shots, maiden 100 would be a huge boost to his confidence

Regardless what people think I rate Mashrafee is better than any fast bowler including Mustafiz. Apart from Cutter Mustafiz does not have any other trick to beat batsmen. I still remembered Mashrafee was known to be one of the best promising bowler in his younger age. He was unlucky to have better team and injuries otherwise he would have get 50 wickets more than now.

maiden 100 for Mendis, very well played, started off slowly, at one stage his strike rate was less than 50 but then scored the 100 with the strike rate of 98.

bd is coming back in the game ..parrera needs to fre otherwise target will not be too high..

Don't think SL has bowlers to defend 300. They need at least 325 to put pressure on Bangladesh batting

Deleted lot of rubbish here; permanent ban for people who continue to post rubbish

Bangladesh will win this match!!! Sri lanka choked in last few overs

Can Bangladesh become the first side to chase 300+ in Sri Lanka?

Taskins last over might just have shifted the momentum slightly in our favour. We have the batsmen to chase this score. Can they avoid brain fades is another topic all together.

50/50 if you ask me.

Flat pitch, inform batsman, momentum and ordinary bowlers will aid us

But scoreboard pressure will be a huge factor. But it's a good challenge for us. These challenges help build characters

We lost the warm up match by 2 runs when the target was 350+ runs. That should help the team believe while also knowing if they bat 50 overs, the chances are we will win.

Yes if we bat 50 overs with batsman in the wicket (including miraz and mash) we will win.

312 these days isn't too special. It's a good challenge nonetheless

311 is difficult, but not impossible. Rain might make the out field a bit heavy though. But it's better that the DWL might be calculated at the start.

rain makes it tougher for the chasing side

Rain can sometimes flatten out the pitch and hurts the spinners but won't matter here as pitch flat anyways.

But reduction of overs usually helps the side chasing. That is of course considering that the team batting 2nd has some useful hitters down the order.

It's not generally easy to chase 312 but easy to chase 175 from 20 say for example under the fielding restrictions

Lanka is almost always a nightmare for cricket. Rain causes spoilsport.

Matches in Lanka should have reserved days almost always

Rain makes it easier bro. Easier to slog at smaller targets, wet ball means spinners are not that effective either.

True, also as only runs are reduced and not wickets it allows chasing side to go after it without a worry.

Shorten game is always better if it's rational. In old rule, it would have been walk in the park - at flat rate, 311 is like 156 in 25 or 248 in 40.

Then they came with a horrible idea which was chase killer - that's take out the least scoring overs. Today, I believe there was 1 maiden & 9 other overs with 2/3 runs - may be least scoring 10 overs had 20 runs. For a 40 overs reduced match, target would have been 292! They used it in '92 WC but not for last Bg after that.

DWL is the bes method which considers wickets & previous results on a particular ground. Initially, DWL was extremely balanced in terms of result - almost 50/50 for both sides.

But, problem now I s, the condition has changed considerably to batting, but the historical data was more balanced, because of 1 ball, PP (5 fielders in regulation time) & general playing condition - boundary size, out field, bat size, wet field management, drainage system... therefore these days DWL actually favours chasing side. In few years time, it'll be normalized with more recent matches in the data base.

In T20, DWL will always favour the chasing side.

Excellent knock by Kusal mendis :bow:.he has very bright future initially he was struggling to middle

the ball but he did not throw his wicket away and that helps him to build the partnership with tharanga
