It all went wrong for Zimbabwe starting from the toss when captain Brendan Taylor won the toss and 'accidentally' said he wanted to bat first in bowler friendly conditions. As it turned out, Zimbabwe struggled to gather momentum throughout the innings scoring 225 in their allotted 50 overs. Captain Brendan Taylor and Hamilton Masakadza steadied the innings somewhat, but Zimbabwe were always going to be short on runs as the pitch eased out for the 2nd innings.

When Pakistan came to bat, a pitch fully exposed to the sun made batting significantly easier and openers Imran Farhat and Mohammad Hafeez were rarely troubled by the Zimbabwean attack. Mohammad Hafeez went on to score his career-best of 139* while Imran Farhat remained unbeaten 75. Pakistan cruised to victory with all wickets intact and nearly eight overs to spare.

This was Pakistan's fourth ever 10-wicket win and the opening partnership of 228 is an unbeaten record for the first wicket for Pakistan.

hopefully jamshed and azhar ali can beat this one day

I still remember the toss it was pretty amusing when taylor realised his mistake

1. Was initially going to make a funny comment about minnow bashing, but then Imran Farhat came to my mind, who is not a minnow-basher by any standards: He is nothing, hence....

2. This I think was the second highest total chased ever without the loss of any wicket. The record being 230 (231) by Sri Lanka against England in the fourth Quarter-Final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2011:

Well done to both the batsmen!

Sort of killed it all as soon as Zimbabwe was mentioned. chuwaay and sher story

Hafeez been at it for a while now! Zimbabwe it may have been in this game - but he has done well for Pakistan.

I remember Yasir Hameed and Imran Farhat had just started to do big things back in 2003-04

Pakistan have been very unlucky with opening batters

There have always been some guys who showed sparks but no one stayed long, some hae rather shocking short stays.
