What's new

Our fast-bowling attack in the next World Cup will be the envy of the world

Bumrah is 5'10. Just hard work and guidance can make you one of the best. Also most importantly, especially in the case of SC cricketers, do not develop a big head. Bumrah has only been so successful and continued to work hard while the likes of Hassan Ali started making their own chains, doing bhangras at borders etc after one successful year.

Very valid point.

We need to find some specialist spinners. Don't think these bits and pieces cricketers will do much in a WC India. Need specialist spinners.

Abbas is a good bowler in English conditions. He is has been brilliant at Leicestershire.

Can't expect him to perform on UAE flat tracks. In English conditions he is very good.Mohammed Asif was not quick but he was unplayable.Abbas is not as good as Asif though.

Hard work and a good brain is also needed which lacks in our players.

There are countless players who came, shine, and lost just because they did not do hard work or they did not have stable mind...

A few more years of development by the PCB and we will be troubling a few batting lineups in the next World Cup

The same PCB that doesn't keep its players vaccination up to date? That PCB? Good luck.

It's not the players. It's PCB itself which needs to modernise. Are they even aware of sports medicine? Team diets? Practice?

I think there will be some major comebacks for WC 23 Wahab back to rescue along with junaid..

These days Pakistan produces one season wonders. They need someone like Umar Gul somewhere in the mix.

Amir is over the hill. He probably has a year left and then he will drag on, riding on the past reputation of CWC19 and CT17.

His performance is this tournament was a surprise to Pakistan selectors, captain, fans, rivals, detractors, and even himself. LOL

Shaheen is only now coming into the real world and he, with others, will be backbone in 2023.

Well he's taller than Bumrah anyways. So he has all the ingredients to succeed. Depends on him and Pakistani management now how they develop him.

Next wc is totally hosted by India.

Reverse swing n spin will play a crucial role. Pak problem is inconsistency, unless they lose few matches they never do well.

Thats what we miscalculate. we think about next wc. there is a lot of cricket to be played. If we play that well. our team will be settled

Amir will not play in the next WC considering his present fitness levels. He is already trundling at low 130s.

Naseem
Shaheen
Harris
Hasnain
Hassan(if he can sort out his head),
Arshad Iqbal
Ahmed Bashir
Musa

We have a very talented pool of young fast bowlers far better than the days of Anwar Ali, Aizaz Cheema, Bilawal Bhatti, Sohail Tanveer, Asad Ali etc. Exciting times ahead .

Agree. If PCB can seriously get to work quickly there is enough time to plan and prepare for a very effective Pakistan campaign in the next world cup in India.

Our bowling has been mediocre since 2006. Other teams don't stand still. At best we might have the 4th or 5th best attack in 2023.

There is little doubt in my mind that we have some seriously good young fast-bowlers - just need luck and help by PCB.
