Outrage after seven-year-old Hooz Noor is assaulted and murdered in Nowshera

A seven year old girl was kidnapped, raped and murdered by two men in Kaka Sahib, Nowshera district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The men have since been arrested.

The police said that the two men have been arrested on Sunday after the residents of the area handed over the two men. According to police, the area residents planned on punishing the suspects themselves but decided to hand them over to the authorities.

Noor’s uncle told the police that that she went to Madrassa a day before but never returned home. The family then set out to look for her and found her being strangled by two men while they were attempting to drown her.

The two men ran away throwing Hooz Noor into a water tank when they found out that they had been discovered and by the time she was recovered from the tank, Noor had already passed away.

According to the area’s residents, the seven year old was raped before being killed by the two suspects.

Twitter has been trending with the hashtag #JusticeforHooznoor, asking for justice for Hooz Noor, the seven year old girl.

This isn’t the first case of a minor being sexually abused and cases like this surface almost every other day. Just three weeks ago a 10 year old boy was raped and left in critical condition by his Madrassa teacher.

Another rape case involving a female litigant came forward just a few days ago. The woman was raped by a Judicial officer in his chamber.

As a father of an infant daughter my heart bleeds hearing about these cases. Its the parents responsibility to protect their kids and keep them infront of their eyes.

There are a lot of educated pedophiles and murderers in the West too. However this could also happen due to illiteracy, desperation and frustration.

I personally think it is something embedded in the DNA for the most part, like that of psychopaths but it could also be influenced by external circumstances.

For example many of the noble soldiers rape and murder helpless women and children when they think no one is looking and that there is no rule of law. Many have even defended them here by claiming that "War brings out the worse in people".

I do not know what goes on in the hearts and minds of most men but whenever given the opportunity most turn back to their primitive and basic animal instincts.

Imagine fighting a brutal war with no outlet for any other emotion.

Then you get a chance to have your way with poor women captured by your forces.

This was a time when there was no internet and the Mullahs were mostly people somewhat versed in religious studies. They were living alone in a foreign country away from their wives (if they had any) and not enough means to procure favours like you mentioned. Also knew some Mullahs who had their wives with them but still had the itch.

Even today if someone has the means to procure said favours they would more likely not involve anyone else and prey on the children whom most would not believe or even if they did would be too appalled to believe it and concerned about the consequences in society among other things especially amongst the poor.

I remember a story (among many) from a few months ago when a Mullah beat a child to death but the parents were too poor and simply scared or unable to comprehend the situation to report him and even were ready to accept it but others intervened and saw that he got charged.

I studied under only one Mullah from Pakistan unsuccessfully, I dropped out voluntarily by finding somewhere else I would rather be. He did tend to beat on thickos which I found disturbing but he wasn't a paedo or a sex pest.

I still find mosques uncomfortable to attend to this day, but that is because my western knees just won't bend in ways required to the positions required for namaz. It is phsyical torture. If I was an Iranian or Saudi jailor, that would be how I would inflict punishment on western hostages.

NOWSHERA: The primary accused in the Nowshera rape case confessed to raping the seven-year-old girl "as revenge for when her uncle raped me", Geo News reported on Thursday.

The accused claimed that the deceased minor's uncle had raped him twice in his apartment, after which he approached the girl. When she refused to fulfil his request, he threw her in the water tank and, later, when she tried to escape, he strangled her to death, he added.

After her family found the dead body, "they took me to their house and roughed me up", he said.

A day earlier, one of the two men accused had confessed to his crime in a local court before both were sent on a judicial remand. The other had pleaded not guilty.

Speaking to Geo News, the district police officer (DPO) for Nowshera, Kashif Zulfiqar, said: "The child’s DNA has been sent to Khyber Medical College and, for better results, we have also sent the samples to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA).

"The accused’s blood samples have been sent to Lahore,” he added.

CM Mahmood forms committee to probe incident
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in this regard formed a committee to probe the incident and directed it to prepare recommendations and legal drafts for punishments in a month.

The CM also chaired the committee's session on Thursday where the police officials investigating the case informed him that the DNA samples had been sent to the PFSA, the results of which would be available in a week.

A prosecution committee was also formed in the meeting; it was ordered to prepare legal drafts for severe punishments pertaining to similar cases.

“We will go to any lengths to make the province safe for children,” the CM added.

Caught red-handed
The two men had been caught red-handed late last week in the city's Ziarat Kaka Sahib area as they tried to drown and killed the seven-year-old after allegedly raping her earlier, police had said.

While registering the first information report (FIR), the deceased's paternal uncle had told police that she had gone to madrassa but never returned home.

At nighttime, during their search for the girl, they had discovered the two accused strangling and attempting to drown her in a tank. She had already passed away by the time she was retrieved.
