Pak engineer makes car that runs on water

All is good until he asks for funds then alarm-bells should go up.

If I created such a technology right now I would be auctioning it to the power companies and will make make a killing(in rupees). These con-men never submit their "great" inventions for patent claiming conspiracies or fear for life :) would have worked in the past but internet is such a powerful tool to beat for any con-artists to pull-off these kind of scams.

If we can run our country on prayers , why can`t we run the cars on them ? :moyo

In every single instance that a person has claimed to power a car through water, he has later been either totally discredited or jailed for investment fraud. The laws of physics do not allow for this to happen. Therefore, the only logical conclusion is that this is another fraudster who has duped the morons that call themselves Pakistani politicians.

Degree degree hoi thee hain, chay jalee hoin ya aislee. Uh yeh, expect with an aislee degree, you're not so gullible and stupid.

I watched the interviews, especially the tango with the scientist who refuted it as nonsense. Although it seemed the engineer was full of confidence and promptly told the scientist that his peers had already seen the demos and approved it, it doesn't prove his model really works as advertised.

For example, how do we know he used a valid test? He seemed to have been using a generator to power the kit first and then rely on electrolysis, but how do we know he has enough charge to start/stop , start/stop the car multiple times. I doubt he has run tests that are thorough enough to completely back his claims. Or as we call it in Software Development, "happy path coding"

Yup. That's basically what Dr. Ata ur Rehman was emphasizing upon

There's one hell of a difference between giving a demo vs. a complete technical evaluation of one's project/product.

But the Engineer has challenged Dr. Atta ur Rehman that he can fix the Kit in his Car or any Car they want so he can prove he is not lying.

No that is a very dumbo quastion. Not million dollar quastion.

Waqar has claimed that his Water fuel kit is a perpetual & self sustainable system. That is simple not possible. NOOOOT Possible.

unless he's somehow captured a few Higgs Boson particles and managed to create and give mass to new Hydrogen atoms during the electrolysis process! :)

Some of the posts in this thread literally tells u about the Standard of Education in Pakistan

People are actually buying this Hoax?

Listen to what he says in the Video
"It takes water in as fuel and gives out water as exhaust"

If this was possible, all Laws of Physics would have been made redundant with the "Inventors" winning Noble Prizes along with a potential of Billions of Dollars in earnings

Sure he was'nt pushing the car? Thereby getting hot and thirsty, having to drink a lot of water, which he then sweated out?
Water in, water out ? (WIWO as opposed to GIGO - Garbage In Garbage Out)

Saw this funny pic in regards to the water fueled car :)

This article sums it all up well. A nation mired in darkness, we are desperate to cling on to any spectacular claim made by any hack, as long as we can claim Pakistani ingenuity and brilliance even for a second, no matter how ridiculous and devoid of truth that claim may be. We are collectively asked to accept these claims or else admit that we don't love Pakistan or are loyal to it like the ones who are fully supporting and endorsing this "great" invention. This has exposed the inherent fragility and hollowness of our society where supernatural forces are considered superior than any science or logic for that matter. Where supposed "scientists" study things like how to harness the power of jinns etc. We have become a big joke, an embarrassment for the rest of the world. Times like these it's hard to find anything good to say about our country. Just a big

The water car dude is going to sue Dr Atta ur Rehman , the scientist

Science for the ummah

Recently an enterprising Pakistani engineer claimed to have invented a car that is powered by water.

Excited by the news, Pakistan’s, nay, the whole Muslim ummah (and some North Korean’s) favourite scientist, Dr. Qadeem Khan, endorsed the invention and demanded that the automobile be called ‘Islamic car.’

Of course, there was the usual whining from liberal fascists/scum/extremists who ridiculed the glorious invention as a product of ‘pseudo-science’ and technical quackery.

But we all know how these elements want the Muslim ummah to continue being subjugated, dominated and exploited by Western secular Judeo-Christian science.

Little do they know that ever since the reign of the great caliph, General Ziaulul Haq, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is leading the way in the development, growth and potential dominance of ‘Islamic Science.’

No, this has nothing to do with those ancient Muslim philosophers, astronomers and chemists who were just too influenced by the science and scholarship of ancient wine-drinking Greek idolaters.

This is about the real Islamic Science and it has already managed to stun the jealous secular Western Judeo-Christian world with a number of some stunning inventions. In theory at least.

Here are some of them …

islamic-science-2.jpg

Since car hoti hai (it’s a she), the Al-Car cannot be taken out on the road without a cover. Drivers are required to use their instincts to navigate and if they are pious, angels are likely to help them in this regard.

The Al-Car does not use conventional fuel. It uses water. But since Pakistan does not want to harm brotherly country Saudi Arabia’s oil economy, the inventers of Al-Car have made sure that it only runs on Aab-e-Zamzam that is only available in brotherly Saudia.

At first the Al-Car will only be made available to the ummah. That is, of course, only to the men of the ummah. However, there will be ample space for women in the trunk.

Pakistan plans to unveil – unveil in the figurative sense, of course – this auto marvel as soon as the government dishes out a billion dollars to the inventor and releases Arsalan Iftikhar so this young dynamic Muslim entrepreneurial genius can help the inventor build a profitable (interest-free) production plant.

Preferably in Monte Carlo – after it has been conquered by General Zaid Hamid and after its population is converted (live on TV) by Mujahidan Mayan Khanam.

Genie Energy (and/or Electricity from Jinns)

Bubbler hahahaha Water kit hahaha.

I can't get over this.

He says water is working better then oil. 1 liter pani pe 40 kilometer. hahaha

The water car dude is going to sue Dr Atta ur Rehman , the scientist

This guy got really pissed at Dr. Atta and said something like do you know water is H-H-O... hahahahaha

The only "real" scientist that Pakistan ever produced.

not to p on your Ahmadi lovein fire but since youve entered into the realms of not being a rational Pakistani.. Oh btw this is not to denigrate Dr Salams achievement who should rightly be amongst our heroes well ahead of charlatans we have witnessed in this show bar Dr. Atta

There was a dude on this show going by the name of Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman who has not done a bad job himself being elected as Fellow of Royal Society (London) in July 2006 thereby becoming one of the 4 scientists from the Muslim world to have ever won this honour and the only scıentıst to be so recognısed for researches carrıed out wıthın a Islamıc country. Its just a pity the best get slandered and plagiarists are worshipped.

yes agreed on Dr . Atta, he was the only rational voice in this whole drama. Btw I'm not an Ahmedi , and yes I still agree that Dr. Abdus Salam is arguably the greatest scientist Pakistan ever produced.

@HamidMirGEO
Ohh bhai its not water car its only a water kit you are behaving like a typical jealous village woman

@HamidMirGEO
Dr Qadeer said that Dr Atta is non sense and Engineer Waqar did a great service for his country don't burn in fire of jealousy

Obviously this guy is not the smartest guy around but its a bit obvious that people in the media and gov, are part of this fraud.

theoretical...maybe... piratically he failed to deliver...when he given charge of nuclear program.

Plus, most of the time he worked with some partner...

I've lost some respect for Doctor Qadir Khan. I'm finding it hard to believe this guy made our bomb.

How can you honestly take a car running by water seriously?

he was never a smart guy...

I do not think he ever did any research work..
though he was great in smuggling-in the parts needed to build bomb.

Did you ever honestly believe he made the bomb? once you hear him speak you know what fool he is.

However ye, he was a great smuggler not just for the ISI but in the black market too.

CIA wont even bother with kidnapping him, because they know how useless he is

Dr. Samar Mubarakmand deserves much more credit as do countless others.

burning coal produces energy, gasses and ash. burning hydrogen produces energy plus water. In the above terms water is the equivalent of ash, a residue! again you can't burn it and get energy out of it. you don't need science degrees to understand such things, just commonsense!

Another Pakistani Engineer claims similar invention but little different than what mentioned in OP. Your comments please.

I found a way to turn Water in to Gold, someone please invest US $200Millions with me please.

how to charge batteries?

lol heard that in Khairpur and Hyderabad there are protests against a "conspiracy directed at a Sindhi scientist"... don't know how true it is, but sad.

Another one from Azad Kashmir claims that he can run a car with water :|

So far 3 or 4 claims

Made it to NYT  so embarrassing !!

The problem in Pakistan is that educated people are moving out of the country . How many of these students will go back to Pakistan after completing their studies or even getting some experience ?

^^ Pakistan is overloaded in population :D tum kitne student bhejo ge har ghar se student nikle ga

^ Sab se important baat , most of the educated people I know who left Pakistan are not working in their field because their degrees are not recognized . You have to study further and not everyone , particularly those with dependent families , are not able to study .

"In a nation thirsting for energy, he loomed like a messiah: a small-town engineer who claimed he could run a car on water. "

sad but so true :)))

Another good piece on the topic:

Turning water into wine

I was shocked with this bit of info in the article and went "whaaa....!?! :murali"

One Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission scientist published a paper proposing that the energy crisis can be solved if the Djinns are tapped as a source of potential energy, because they as you know are made of fire (the said scientist was subsequently arrested for having links with the Taliban, although I feel the writing of the said paper was enough of a reason to at least lock him up in an asylum).

You still can't beat India TV :yk

That Microsoft guy, i will never forget. One who was gonna make Windows 8 all by himself :))

Very good debate. Must watch

Agha Waqar accepts challenge to run physics’ teacher car on water

Dated: 2012-08-07

KARACHI: Professor Ranomal Malani, brother of PPP MNA Dr Mahesh Malani, challenged Engineer Agha Waqar on Monday to run his car on water and get Rs 5 million in return. Waqar, accepting the challenge, promised to run all his cars solely on water.

Holding a press conference at the Media Centre in Mathi, Malani handed a cheque worth Rs5 million to the press club administration and said that the cheque will remain with them for 15 more days.

Calling the ‘water car’ a fraud, Malani claimed that Waqar had fooled Federal Minister Khursheed Shah and the media representatives. He added that he was holding the press conference to save the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from falling victim to a fraud.

Waqar, talking to media, asked Malani to tell him his car model and the number of cars, adding that he will prepare the car kits accordingly. “You will permanently run your car on it. It won’t be a test demonstration.”

Waqar added that he does not want to be “bribed” with the prize money and said that Malani should distribute that money among the poor.

Malani, in reply, gave Waqar 10 days to prepare the kits and run his car on water. He also expressed delight over not having to hand the prize money.

“He had hidden a Hydrogen cylinder in his demonstration on TV. He fooled everyone. I know it because I teach Physics. This is impossible,” alleged Malani. But Waqar claimed that he will run the car solely on distilled water and will not add fuel or anything else to it.

Waqar had earlier claimed that he can run a 1,000CC vehicle till 40 kilometres with one litre of water by attaching a small water kit in the car that separates hydrogen from water and supplies it to the engine.

Interesting twist. My fear is that the physics teacher himself will be fooled. Let's see how it develops.

Easy drive really long distances like from one city to another and back. Huge amounts of gas cannot be faked that easily

This guy Agha Waqar's confidence is baffling everybody. I wonder what he's up to.

AQ Khan said the car is genuine!!

This is crazy. He has quite a reputation in Pakistan. Should think twice before endorsing stuff like this!

His reputation in the educated part of Pakistan has been in tatters. I think age is a factor as well in his senile driven endorsement.

Hes using the tried and tested Sindh card. However one thing I am glad about is that we are a country abundant in resources. I mean when you have a polymath like Hamid Mir doing a mundane job like he is doing you have to pleased about the country as it indicates to numerous others like him.

India is going one up here too. TATA devoloping a car which runs on compressed air

http://www.gizmag.com/tata-motors-air-car-mdi/22447/

http://tech.slashdot.org/story/12/08/26/2351221/tata-intends-to-sell-air-powered-car-in-india

Tata Motors (an Indian car manufacturer) is changing things up with the first car to run on air, the Airpod. The Airpod's technology was originally created in France at Motor Development International but has since been bought by Tata in hopes of bringing it to the Indian consumer car market. With virtually zero emissions and at the cost of about a penny per kilometer, it is definitely one of the most environmentally and economically friendly vehicles in the world. The tank holds about 175 liters of compressed air that can be filled at special stations or by activating the on-board electric motor to suck air in from the outside. Costing about $10,000, this car could beat out most smart cars from the market."

it was created by a French company and now i guess Tata has bought it.

is that its a one person or 2 persons car....??

mdi-air-car.png

so people with motorbikes will be the market for this...........but is it worth it???? this costs $10,000 but a motorbike costs less than $1000. (and a lots of motorbikes will do 1 km per 2 pennies, while this is claiming one penny per KM.

so is its worth it in the end........1k vs 10k

Anyone know what happened to this bet/challenge?

no update in the media.

they probably feeling shameful of having made public fools out of themselves and masquerading this guy around on tv for a week only to find out it don't work...

The guy has guts of Steve jobs..

One thing for sure. He doesn't know how to term physics and chemistry. The best thing is to test the invention and find the results.
