Pakistan (127/5) defeat Bangladesh (124/7) by 5 wickets to win 3rd T20I - Take series 0-3

Good to get the win, but that was very very kind of Mahmudullah to not kick up a fuss over Nawaz walking away from a perfectly legal delivery that he was standing ready for.

Nawaz should have been given out. BD handled that like gentlemen but Nawaz shouldering arms like that was ridiculous.
 
Pakistan won the whole series and their commentator still talking about what Bangladesh has achieved, how there player played and how they like the captain.

I don't understand why would they pick that pathetic player in the squad.

We whitewashed them whereas teams like NZ, Aus struggled. We don't need to forget that we were teesting out bench strength. Sarfi, Ifti, Usman, Dhani. It was their first match.
 
Looks like it was a humdinger in the end, Pak keeping its cool in the end.

People have been too harsh on them in the series. I think they'll compete better in the Test series

No he isn’t? The bowler bowled a legal delivery. The batsman’s job is to play it if he’s ready for the delivery, which from Nawaz’s stance it is entirely obvious that he was. You can’t just pull out of a delivery because you don’t like it

Not sure if you were following it, but sarfaraz gave every opportunity to Haider to get his 50 Haider just couldn't finish it

On the types of wickets they produce, even a club third eleven team would be competitive against the great Aussie team of the 90's

Testing your bench strength doesn’t mean Babar and Rizwan open every game and the lower order face only 60% of the deliveries

Would India open with Rohit and KL on such a tour for all 3 games?

See it real time again. You will see Nawaz was looking down and as soon as he saw the bowler, the ball was already on his way.
 
Exciting match . Pak should have finished the match much earlier . It’s tuff to keep the match till last moment in Bangladesh

Mate I think you should look at the game and situation rather than just numbers

Sarfaraz kept giving strike to Haider to complete his 50 Haider just couldn't do it

Cricket isn't basic as you think it is

Piece of advice for you too support the Pakistan team instead of inviduals just because your favourite failed to get his 50 you can't blame someone who gave him strike as much as he could

I just want the best players selected for the team and I see trolls supporting Safaraz over Rizwan which literally makes no cricketing sense

Sarfraz nearly lost us the match.He scored six runs in 12 balls.Did not hit a single boundary.I know the BD wickets are not easy to bat on but he should still have scored at least run a ball.He should not play for Pakistan again.He is a liability.Selectors we’re justified to pick Ruzwan.

Babar Azam: The way every individual has performed, credit to the group. There is always scope for improvement. Our fielding has improved a lot. Middle order has also taken responsibility to win matches. Want to take this confidence into the Tests. Thanks to the fans, we enjoyed these three matches.

Rizwan, Player of the Series: Can't explain the joy you feel when the team wins and when your performances contribute to wins. Our main focus is to assess the conditions and focus accordingly. Want to credit Majeed (Pakistan's fielding coach), the way he's worked on my keeping for the last year. Want to thank the fans. It feels like we're playing in Pakistan.

Haider Ali, Player of the Match: Pitch was difficult but started with Rizwan and he supported me. Gameplan was to target specific bowlers based on what the equation was.

Mahmudullah: It's hard to say. Batters from both teams struggled a bit. Need to spend some time at the crease to capitalise. I really appreciate the way Taskin came back after having the injury on his bowling hand. Great character shown.

Saqlain Mushtaq | Pakistan coach - The game was quite close, but our boys held their nerve. Credit to Bangladesh, especially the way Mahumudullah bowled the last over and controlled the situation. The conditions were strange compared to UAE, it wasn't easy, but the bowlers executed their plans nicely. They are playing the game seriously, ticking all the boxes, enjoying each other's company and showing plenty of faith in themselves. Having that kind of depth is a great thing for Pakistan, the guys in the bench are working hard and are pushing each other for spots, you can't ask for anything more.
 
When you are chasing a low total especially on these types of wickets. You should never let the game go till the last over. Target should have been "chased the total till 19th over max".

Anything can happen in the last over. I remember once Pakistan lost to Australia by 1 run and the bowler was Maxwell.

I think team management should sit today and discuss this issue with the players.
 
Sarfraz has done a great service to Pakistan, from winning u19 cup to winning ICC trophy, and have played some great innings , but his time has come to an end now, or really ended a couple of years ago , he should retire now and save his dignity legacy. Mohammed Rizwan is the future and has the potential to be our goat wicket keeper batsman. He’s shown improvement with both gloves and bat and is hungry to keep developing which means InshaAllah he’s in for the long run.
 
It was painful to watch Sarfraz inning, He done great service for Pakistan, Maybe time to move on from limited over cricket.
 
Whilst brutal as a captain on the field at times I think he was well respected in the dressing room. If he has that pull and respect then maybe he should look into coaching , start in domestics in Karachi etc
 
Pakistan registered a five-wicket victory in the third and final T20I in Dhaka chasing down a target of 125 off the final delivery of the contest.

Heading into the contest having already lost the series, Bangladesh skipper Mahmud Ullah called it correct at the toss and opted to bat first in Dhaka. But they were again off to a poor start with Shahnawaz Dahani knocking off the timber of opener Najmul Hossain Shanto for 5.

Shamim Hossain and Mohammad Naim then embarked on a steady partnership with a few boundaries in between, before the former's knock was brought to an end on 22 by Usman Qadir. Shamim's eyes lit up seeing the leg-spinner into the attack, but could not get the desired connection to be caught by Iftikhar Ahmed.

A decent partnership would then inculcate between Naim and Afif Hossain, though not at a rapid pace. They would nurdle the strike around in the next few overs, without showing any urgency to take the attack to the Pakistan bowlers. Afif's knock of 30 off 31 deliveries would finally come to an end, as he looked to up the ante against Qadir, attempting a slog-sweep only to find a thick outside edge.

With less than six overs remaining and wickets still in the bag, Bangladesh had no option but to increase the scoring rate. But this also brought about wicket-taking opportunities for the Pakistan bowlers.

They would lose four wickets in the final two overs with Naim (47), Nurul Hasan (4), Mahmud Ullah (13) and Aminul Islam (3) walking back to the shed in quick succession. Mohammad Wasim would end up being the pick of the bowlers for the visitors with figures of 2/15 as they restricted Bangladesh to an under-par score of 124/7.

In reply, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan would get Pakistan off to a serene start. Curtailing taking any sort or risks, they negotiated the Powerplay, scoring 28 runs without losing a wicket.

Babar's knock would come to an end in the seventh over as he picked out the fielder at deep midwicket to perfection. It was a rank long hop from Aminul Islam and Naim made no mistakes in the deep. Rizwan and Haider Ali would then embark upon an important partnership, edging Pakistan closer to the target.

With Pakistan requiring 42 off 29 deliveries, Rizwan's crucial knock of 40 came to an end with Shahidul Islam doing the damage. Rizwan chopped the delivery onto his own stumps and was visibly frustrated by the dismissal. Haider Ali though would do some serious damage in the same over, tonking Islam for two maximums. The equation would then come down to Pakistan needing 26 off 24 deliveries.

The match would then go right down to the wire with Pakistan needing 8 off 6 deliveries. But with a well-set Haider Ali at the crease, they fancied their chances.

There would be some drama in the final over though, as a dot delivery would be followed by the wicket of Sarfaraz for 6. It would be two in two for Mahmud Ullah then as Haider Ali attempting a big one, perished on 45. The decision to bowl the last over himself from Mahmud Ullah was turning out to be an inspired choice.

The drama would continue as Iftikhar would hit a massive six off the fourth delivery, before being out on the fifth. With 2 runs required off the final ball, Mohammad Nawaz would hit a brilliant shot for four to clinch a five-wicket victory for the visitors and help them complete a 3-0 whitewash.

1. I was born in Karachi
2. I have family that still lives in Karachi
3. I want players from Karachi to succeed and represent the national team
4. I have no favourites. I want the best players representing the national team regardless of which region or city they were born in.
5. 6 off 12 deliveries in a T20 game does not constitute good rotating of the strike. 6 off 4, 6 off 6 or even 6 off 8, ok. But 6 off 12 when the overs are running out is just putting pressure on the other batsman.

Safaraz is surplus to requirements and Rizwan is both a better batsmen and wicket keeper and should rightly so be in the national team.

His SR in NZ is 125, that was played in 2018.

His SRs in other countries(WI, UAE, Bangladesh) is rubbish. He can't play on slow and uneven bounce pitches

1. First of all mate I'm not a supporter of sarfaraz he is now done and dusted and need to move away from him and Rizwan is a better option

Well mate, firstly there is no hate for Safaraz. In a game when the overs are running out you would expect better from a batsmen coming in at number 4. The strike rotation should have been better then 6 off 12 balls.

With respect to Haider getting to 50. Personally, I couldn't care less about that. It was a about winning the game and someone with match awareness should know that trying (and failing) to give his partner the strike to reach a personal milestone was not the order of the day. Had it been in the 10th Over with 40 to win then you can maybe justify it... But not when the overs are running out and you need 18 runs off 12 balls.

Finally, its not Safaraz that should get the brunt of the anger for this. It should be the support he has that keeps him in the squad and the lack of strength from the selectors and the management who selected him in the first place.

In a dead rubber game, against an opposition running low in confidence, a young keeper should have been tested so the blame ultimately lies with the management / selectors.
 
Great to see Pakistan win 3-0. Nice to see Wasim continue to bowl extremely well and I am not sure how he didn't get player of the series award. Big innings by Haider too when everyone struggled - big positive for him to build on.

Next step for this team will be winning in a dominant fashion like we see England do. Low score total on the board and they will chase it down comprehensively instead of sort of what Pakistan to, which is playing to the score.

People are underestimating this victory. Beating Bangladesh in Bangladesh is not childs play. Even the almighty Indians have lost in Bangladesh. NZ, Australia, South Africa have lost in Bangladesh. Pakistan lost the ODI Series 3-0 and the T-20 series 1-0 in 2015. This is a good win for our side in different conditions
 
On another note, saw Dahani for the first time. Nice pace and his action reminded me a bit of Shaun Pollock?

Both Wasim & Dahani are great future prospects for Pakistan. Hopefully they are handled properly and mature into good fast bowlers.

England would drop a match to Bangladesh on these disgusting wickets. The ball hardly bounced, so your hitters cannot trust the pitch and hit through the line, which a lot of England batsmen like to do.

I also think England may lose a game or two on these pitches.

They were struggling against Sri Lankan spinners in Sharjah. Mirpur should be much more testing for them.
