What's new

Pakistan (166/4) beat England (163 all out) by 3 runs in the 4th T20I at NSK to level the series 2-2

I can recall pak won a game like this against sri lanka in 2000 or 1999 when razzaq took like 4-5 wickets n lanks needing just 15-16 odd to win.

It was a tied game. I remember SL needed 24 off 10 overs with 7-8 wickets left

Anyone with an iota of shame would completely dissapear from PP after so many humiliations....

...but I guess Mamoon and shame don't go hand in hand.🤣

Nope. He did right. It was reverse swinging. He would've been bowled.

With a fielder close to field that running always suicidal, he won't never reach to crease unless they missed.. by slogging a lucky edge can save them/beat them, worth to try..

And it was Rauf who won it for us, a player he loves to hate irrationally... I'm absolutely knackered!

Unreal. What a match!

Rauf with a blinder. He hit 155 on the hat trick ball!

I don’t know why some are so afraid of being wrong or humbled.

It’s about Pakistan wins!

For the weak squad argument - 3 of our key players are out as well.

We aren’t on Englands level but that isn’t news. We fight and show we still have quality and class.

Qadir might not get a bowl today I recon

England back from the dead!

Match losing over from Hasnain, he’s lost it completely.

Congrats England

Well done England. Teach them lesson.

England will win this and well done.
Dawson you playing a blinder.
Hasnain bowling dross

My my my my my :)))

We deserve this humiliation. :klopp

Not tonight :)

We won an incredible game, but had we 20 more runs, it be much easier game for us. Let's enjoy the victory but at the same time learn from mistakes as well else we be unpredictable forever.

So why was Qadir selected if he wasnt gonna bowl today?

Also hopefully, Hasnain isnt mentally scarred from that last over after Pakistan won..

He injured his hands while taking that catch...saw him getting some treatment

They didn't learn from Asia cup final defeat and you think they will learn from this win?

I don't see any changes in team's thinking and planning until we play out t20wc next month. The batting display we have seen tonight seems to indicate no one in team management or players is even remotely concerned about their slow strike rates or lack of big shots. Rizwan never took any risk in his whole innings despite Pak posting below par total with so many wickets in hand.

Good win but someone needs to talk about Saqlain's attitude in press conferences. His continuous refusal to acknowledge problems and top of that He starts preaching when asked about game strategies baffles me. Im not sure how journalists are putting up with him

Phenomenal game. The tension, the ebb and flow that onky cricket can create. Congrats!

Apparently the lowest total defended on this ground including PSL. Hats off to the bowlers but intent, tactics & strategy when batting first still remains confounding and horrible.

Pakistan took England's final three wickets in six balls in a thrilling finale to seal a dramatic three-run victory and level their T20I series at 2-2.

Mohammad Rizwan's 88 from 67 balls helped Pakistan post 166-5 after the hosts had been put in to bat by Moeen Ali, before England embarked on a run-chase that saw huge swings of momentum.

Liam Dawson appeared to have put England on the brink of victory as his 34 from 17 - including five successive boundaries in the 18th over - left the tourists needing five runs to win from the last 10 balls, with three wickets in hand.

However, Haris Rauf (3-32) removed Dawson and Olly Stone with consecutive balls in the penultimate over, before Reece Topley was run out in the final over to give Pakistan a dramatic triumph.

England, whose batting had impressed in the opening three games of the series, appeared to be clear favourites after a strong bowling display had limited Pakistan to what the tourists clearly considered a highly gettable target.

Liam Dawson hit five consecutive boundaries in the 18th over to put England on the brink of victory.

However, a disastrous start to the run-chase saw England slump to 14-3. Ben Duckett (33), Harry Brook (34) and Moeen (29) led the recovery, but when the latter duo fell in successive overs to leave England 113-6, Pakistan once more appeared in control.

Dawson's stunning cameo then appeared to have turned the game back in England's favour, with home fans beginning to flock out of Karachi's National Stadium as they accepted defeat, before Pakistan's late salvo created the most memorable of finishes.

The victory means Pakistan have now twice levelled from behind to ensure the series is level as it moves from Karachi to Lahore, where the final three matches will be played as both sides continue their preparations for the start of the T20 World Cup in Australia next month.

It was quite funny to read comments by Indians on their cricket forums. They think all Pakistani bowlers chuck. They used to call Pakistani bowlers trundlers but after Pakistan found several quicks the Indians can’t digest it.

Utter disgrace, Baber and Rizwan should get out by10 overs and let middle order deal with it, not that we are winning 80% of the games with either of them staying late in the innings. I feel they cannot accelerate later on as they maynot have enough fitness.

It is a lack of power game. Great win though by PK.

Hasnain needs mental development. He has all the skills but doesn't seem to have any brain whatsoever. With that speed, he should be at par with Rauf.

Haris was the same early. Husnain got good potential

Also hopefully, Hasnain isnt mentally scarred from that last over after Pakistan won..

Becouse he goes for to much runs and Pakistan didn't have that much runs to play with.

And here is an exclusive message from Babar Azam to Pak team detractors....

:ba_quiet

England head coach Matthew Mott hailed Liam Dawson's fight in defeat to Pakistan, while skipper Moeen Ali conceded they should have chased down the hosts' score.

Pakistan held on to claim a three-run win that squares the seven-match series 2-2, but only after control of the game swung like a pendulum.

England were favourites as they began chasing a gentle target of 167, but found themselves struggling at 14-3 after just two overs.

Dawson appeared to have settled things in their favour when he dashed 24 off the 18th over to leave just nine needed off 12 balls, but Pakistan took the last three wickets to come out on top.

Highlights of the fourth T20 match between England and Pakistan.

The concluding act saw No 11 Reece Topley and Adil Rashid attempt a crazy single with four balls left in the match, inviting the inevitable run out as the moment got too much.

Mott was full of praise for Dawson, who had a previous top score of 10 in the format and finished with 34 at a strike rate of 200, for making a fight of things when the heat was on.

"Taking wickets in the powerplay put us on the back foot, it took a really good partnership to get us back in it," he said.

"Liam's knock was special. It took everyone by surprise, we didn't think in our wildest dreams we'd get in that position. It just shows in T20 cricket you've never got it done.

"Haris Rauf was put under pressure (in the 19th over) and he bowled his side to victory."

After four sold-out games in Karachi, with a total attendance of around 140,000, the series now heads for Lahore, where the teams will resume battle on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports.

Moeen Ali: An amazing game of cricket; We should have chased it down
Skipper Moeen admitted his England side succumbed to late pressure after Pakistan edged a tense finale.

"Amazing game of cricket. It went both ways. It kept swinging. The crowd were electric for all four games here," Moeen said.

"We felt like we should have chased that down, I'm disappointed that we didn't. We kept losing wickets but hung in there.

"Brook again played well and Daws, the way he batted tonight was outstanding. I'm sad he couldn't get us over the line. But these things happen.

"We felt we should have won the game. Pressure happens, and they bowled really well."

England's Olly Stone told Sky Sports post-match...

"Obviously we didn't get the right result but the atmosphere was great and has been all series.

"I loved being out there. It makes all the hard work worthwhile.

What an epic heist by Pakistan! Wow, what a match it was! It was a strange affair, mind you. First England seemed pretty down and out, then Dawson´s amazing hitting completely pushed Pakistan out of the game, and then Haris Rauf´s double-wicket over turned the match on its head. I personally think that England lost the game off the last ball of the 19th over where Adil Rashid failed to come back on strike for the last over. That was the game right there, in my opinion.

We´ve a few express fast bowlers in the world right now, but Haris is that one bowler of all of those who gives the impression to me of it being apparent from your TV screen that the batsmen find it hard to get him away. I was most critical of him for being a spraying gun and leaking runs at most crucial stages, but I must admit that he has improved massively and seems to have really upped his game the recent weeks right from that first T20I against India in the recently concluded Asia Cup. Kudos to him! I really like the sight of him running in with the ball in his hand.

Again, congratulations to Pakistan on winning an amazing game of cricket. An unbelievable match, really.
