Bangladesh need 139 runs in 76 balls.

Required rate is not that big issue is that too many wickets lost in chase , that has been the story in all 3 games.

Overall I would say despite losing the series there were some good positives. I'm only disappointed that Muqeem wasn't given a chance.

Yes. He set the tone. He should've played all 3 games.

Muqeem should've gotten chance today. Not sure he keeps on getting benched.

It seems like Sufiyan is not liked by management or something. That's the only explanation I can think of.

If Talat can get a game, why not Sufiyan? It was a dead rubber anyway.

I think Sufiyan should play all games. Should be a first choice spinner.

Rizwan atleast willnot drop as many catches or fumble as much as Haris, and Haris has not done much in batting, but tyere is no need to go back to him now and Pakistan should look forward in T20s. Haris though will cost key matches so need to groom someone else.

Salman is just wasting time at this point. Get the main bowlers on and finish the match

its clear now that BD surprised Pak’s inexperienced batting side with Mirpur Slow pitch in first 2 games. and Third T20 is complete destruction . First scoring 40 runs above par and then dismantling BD batting., BD needs to look at bigger picture rather trying to bag few series win at home. its a recurring pattern. if they want world class batters who can keep up with modern day t20 , Their home pitches need to give their own batters an opportunity to express themselves

Anyway, BD also tried out their bench players today. No Mustafiz, no Emon, no Towhid.
 
The unpredictable nature of Pakistan cricket at its finest. One minute down, second minute buried, next minute nose above gravel. Love you.
 
Every win is welcome; however, do not read too much into this.

These are two very inconsistent and unpredictable teams, esp. when it comes to their batting

Windies is another inconsistent batting side. Although in a different format, Australia recently won a low-scoring test series 3-0. Windies bowlers bowled well throughout the series. Not once did Australia cross 300. However, the current Windies batting is a real shambles (cf. Pakistan); repeatedly let the team down.
 
Pakistan's next assignment is West Indies.

BD had an Indian tour scheduled but that has been postponed till next year. So, BD don't have any cricket for a while.
 
Pakistan and players like Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf proving to be masters of soft wins and dead rubbers. Everyone knows these players will **** themselves under real pressure against tough teams. Faheem and Danyal Rasool had a great chance to win the 2nd game but when the game got so close in balance, Faheem chocked under pressure and Danyal miscued a shot he should have hit for six.

Salman Ali Agha has badly dissapointed me with his batting, captaincy and his selections in this series. Do you seriously think you can rely on Faheem Ashraf as a bowler against top opponents? Why was Suffiyan Muqeem not given a single game? Salman Ali Agha is another clueless Babar Azam as captain, someone who talks big in interviews, press conferences but proves to be cluless under pressure with his decisions and selections.

Pak did nt play first choice Bowlers in series. Thats not the point. Chasing 112 is inconsequential. BD would nt chase down 150 with fron line Batters playing.

My point is BD needs to move past Home series wins on Dustbowls. Pak’s Batting is fragile , They got away with it but come big tournaments its gonna be same story for BD

My point is BD needs to move past Home series wins on Dustbowls. Pak’s Batting is fragile , They got away with it but come big tournaments its gonna be same story for BD

Need better pitches for T20.

I think these pitches are okay for Test but not T20.
 
This series has been a total disappointment for me because we dropped our in form opener in Farhan for first two matches. Who knows we might have won the series had he played all the matches. We’ll never know now.

Tired of these chop and change selections. Just stick with the same cricketers for once.

We saw the outcome of trying to reshuffle the entire team and experimentation before last t20 wc. It doesn’t work. It just creates panic.

Salman Agha: We understand that pitches in the BPL can vary but we've assessed here that our execution wasn't as good in previous games as it was today. However, that's part of the game. We are currently in a team-building phase and believe we're on the right track. Just as you mentioned the Olympics, we are following a specific process. So, regarding qualification for the Olympics, Asia Cup, or World Cup, we will continue to follow this process, and we are confident that these achievements will surely come our way.

Q: There's a perception that since becoming captain, your individual batting and bowling performance has declined. Are you doing something different to improve your personal game while also focusing on the team?

Salman Agha: I don't know if you've been following our recent games, particularly our tour of New Zealand. I scored two fifties there, and a 40. Then, against Bangladesh at home, I made another fifty. While I didn't perform well in the first game of this series, I actually believe my T20 game has improved since I became captain. Of course, everyone needs to learn and improve their skills, and I'm always looking to do that. But I don't agree that my performances have gone down since taking on the captaincy.

Q: What was the main difference in execution between the third game and the first two games of the series?

Salman Agha: I think our execution was much better. Saba played outstandingly; he immediately put pressure on their bowlers, which is something we, as a team, always talk about. He did that exceptionally well. Overall, our execution was superior to the first two games.

Q: Do you think losing the toss in the third game was a good thing, especially given that the pitch looked much better than in the previous matches?

Salman Agha: If I had won the toss, I would have chosen to bowl first. However, I don't believe the pitch was significantly different. I think it was largely the same surface. We simply executed our plans really well, put their bowlers under pressure from the start, and built crucial partnerships, which were missing in the first two games. So, no, I think it was a similar wicket.

Q: After the first match, both you and the coach mentioned that the pitch wasn't ideal. Now you're saying the execution was right. So, are you blaming the pitch or the players' execution for the earlier losses?

Salman Agha: I haven't blamed the pitch at all. What I said was that these aren't ideal pitches for us to prepare for the Asia Cup and World Cup, because I don't anticipate getting these kinds of surfaces in those tournaments. However, I have no problem with the pitches themselves. As international players and an international side, we have to adapt and perform well wherever we play. We didn't do well in the first two games, but we executed our plans here. My comments about the pitches were solely in the context of preparation for upcoming major tournaments, not as an excuse for our performance.
 

Sahibzada fifty, Salman three-fer help Pakistan bag consolation win​


Opening batter Sahibzada Farhan’s half-century (63, 41b, 6x4s, 5x6s) and Mohammad Salman Mirza’s new ball burst helped Pakistan register a commanding 74-run win in the third and final T20I over Bangladesh here at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The hosts fell flat for 104 in 16.4 overs in reply to Pakistan’s 178-7.

Bangladesh slipped to 41-7 before no.8 batter Mohammad Saifuddin’s 35 not out off 34 balls (2x4s, 2x6s) helped them cross the 100-run mark. Opening batter Mohammad Naim (10, 17b) was the only other batter to enter double figures for the home side.

For Pakistan Salman, who also finished with seven wickets in the series, drew first blood just on the second ball of the chase. Faheem Ashraf then eked out the scalps of skipper Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Salman Mirza further wreaked havoc in the fifth over taking two wickets in three balls as Bangladesh found themselves reeling at 28-5 in five overs and a run better at the end of the powerplay. The next five wickets added 75 runs in 10.4 overs as Bangladesh registered their joint-fifth lowest T20I total on home soil.

Mohammad Nawaz dismissed two batters, while Salman Ali Agha, Ahmed Daniyal and Hussain Talat picked up one wicket each.

Earlier, player of the match Sahibzada and Saim Ayub stitched an 82-run opening stand in 7.5 overs after Pakistan were asked to bat first. The duo set the tone by collecting 24 runs off the opening two overs and 57 after six overs.

Sahibzada brought up his second T20I fifty off just 29 balls in the seventh over. After Saim Ayub’s (21, 15b, 2x4s, 1x6) departure in the following over Pakistan reached the halfway mark with 86 runs on the board for the loss of one wicket.

Bangladesh managed to bag four wickets for 37 runs from 12th over to 16th over as Hasan Nawaz contributed a fiery 17-ball 33 with the help of one four and three sixes.

With Pakistan 132-5 after 15.3 overs, Mohammad Nawaz (27, 16b, 2x4s, 2x6s) and Salman (12 not out, 9b, 1x6) stitched a brisk 23-ball 41-run stand to steer Pakistan to their third-highest T20I total in Bangladesh. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed picked up three wickets, while Nasum Ahmed dismissed two batters.

There wasnt whole lot wrong with the pitch this series to be honest. This is rainy season, and this is best you will during this off season.

Bangladesh batters did better execution on Game 1, Pakistan batters did on Game 3.
 
Bangladesh need to go pretty aggressive at the top. I would be willing to entertain Saifuddin + Tanzim Sakib in place of two pure bowlers. Mahedi + Rishad also knows how to bat.

Saifuddin is also another player BCB failed to develop. He could've been Bangladesh's Hardik Pandya.

Yeah.

I personally would drop Tanzim and play Saifuddin.

I would drop Rishad too because he generally leaks a lot of runs. Better to try another spinner (Rangpur Rider's Rakibul Hasan?).

Bowling should be --> Shoriful, Taskin, Saifuddin, Mahedi, and another spinner.
 
Farhan once again proved the selectors wrong. It was a great knock for a guy who was warming the bench for most of the time.

Saim was pathetic again.. Not sure about him anymore.

And Haris's batting was speechless in all three games. Maybe @Rana can tell us more about him now... Wasn't he pathetic???

I am very happy with Faheem overall. He justified his spot and also Daniyal and salman were fantastic throughout.
 
The only players who seem to get something out of this series is Shaibzada Farhan and Parvez Hossain Emon.

Overall, a pretty terrible series for both team. Hopefully, they got some practice out of the series and got to see some new players.

I think Salman Mirza is another one who cashed in on his chance and looked pretty good.

Fair enough. I still think Fakhar and Babar should be in the XI. They can replace most players. I was just giving an example of 2 players who aren't really adding much at the moment. I think Farhan can keep but if not I would think about Rizwan , Haseebullah or someone who is performing. If Haris can be consistent I don't mind him.
