The three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is about to start with Pakistan taking on Bangladesh at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. All three matches in this series will be played at the same venue. Talking about the hosts, they will start their preparation for the next year's T20 World Cup under the newly appointed coach Mike Hession, with some young players included in the squad. Pakistan, led by Salman Agha, came into this series after losing their previous T20I series by 4-1 against New Zealand, so they will be itching to make a comeback. The Pakistan team will be without Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi as they are looking to build a new squad, and that's why they have given a chance to the players who performed well in the recently concluded PSL! While talking about Bangladesh, led by Litton Das, they also suffered a setback in the recently concluded series against UAE, where they lost the series 2-1, and they will be keen to bounce back. Skipper Litton Das will lead from the front with the bat, while Soumya Sarkar, Tawhid Hridoy, and Jaker Ali add firepower in the batting, with Mahedi Hasan bringing stability to the squad with his all-round skills. While on the bowling front, Mustafizur Rahman’s experience will be key for them, and he will be supported by the likes of Tanzim Hasan Shakib, Tanvir Islam, and Rishad Hossain. A cracking contest is on the cards as both sides look to find answers from their previous series.

Pakistan Squad; Salman Ali Agha (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicket-keeper), Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan (wicket-keeper) and Saim Ayub

Bangladesh Squad: Litton Das (captain), Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Zakir Ali, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan (vice-captain), Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Shoriful Islam.

1. Where are the kids? If you're not going to try them out in a series like this, then when?
2. What has Shadab Khan done to merit a place in the squad, let alone playing XI?
3. "cracking contest on the cards" - really? With 2 of the worst limited over sides out there?

Am gonna have to give this to pakistan to win it. Both are in terrible form but bd without their big 4 is worst than UAE.

Playing XI:

Fakhar Zaman
Saim Ayub
Agha Salman(C)
Hasan Nawaz
Muhammad Haris(Wk)
Khushdil Shah
Faheem Ashraf
Abbas Afridi
Hasan Ali
Abrar Ahmed
Haris Rauf

If Hesson is thinking of playing Farhan as WK then it is already a bad start building into WT20. Farhan is barely a part time WK.

My Playing XI for this game:

Fakhar Zaman
Saim Ayub
Farhan
Agha Salman(C)
Hassan Nawaz
Haris (WK)
Khushdil Shah
Faheem Ashraf
Hasan Ali
Abrar Ahmed
Haris Rauf

1. Farhan
2. Saim
3. Fakhar
4. Nawaz
5. Haris (wk)
6. Salman (cpt)
7. Shadab
8. Khusdil
9. Faheem
10. Abbas
11. Rauf/Naseem

Deepen the batting to 10 and all of Shadab, Saim, Salman, Khusdil etc can bowl spin so don't need Abrar

In SL, those 4 are more than good enough with ball for those conditions

Go all guns blazing and without fear knowing you bat all the way to no. 10

I hope for a pakistan win I would have like to have seen ubaid or ali raza in the squad going forward hassan ali will get exposed once again we never learn keep going back to TTF,s

1. Farhan

10. Abbas

In SL we have to play both sufyan and abrar, and here you're going with part timers. Same mistake we did in CT 2025.

Litton eyes strong comeback against Pakistan after UAE upset

Bangladesh gear up to face off against Pakistan following a shock series defeat to UAE in Sharjah last week.

Bangladesh’s skipper Litton Das is determined to move on from the recent 2-1 series defeat against the United Arab Emirates and focus on the upcoming challenge against Pakistan.

Following the unexpected setback in Sharjah last week, Litton is eager to lead his team with renewed energy as they prepare for a three-match T20I series against Pakistan.

"We were not up to the mark in the last series. This is a new series, a new challenge," Litton said in the pre-series press conference on the eve of the first T20I. "We know where we did well and where we did badly in the past. We will have to apply that [information] in the game.”

The Bangladesh team has come under criticism after letting a 1-0 lead slip against the UAE, ultimately losing the three-match series 2-1. In response, the skipper has stressed the need for greater consistency in their performances if they aim to compete with the top teams on the global stage.

"This is a different ball game. We, however, have the belief that we can beat any team in the world," he added.

"We have to play good cricket. We are not focused on the opposition. I am not only focused on the team's result, which doesn't always come your way. I think what's more important is how we are playing the game. If we can play sticking to a process, we will have more chance of a good result."

Bangladesh started the series on a strong note with a comfortable 27-run win in the first match against the UAE. However, lacklustre bowling performances in the following two games saw them fail to defend totals of 205 and 162, allowing the UAE to clinch a significant series victory.

"It is expected that there will be discussions and criticism when we don't play well. We always try to play good cricket. We don't want to repeat our mistakes of the past. I think we can have a good series," he further said.

"We would be among the top teams in the world if we were a consistent side. We definitely lack something as we are down in the rankings. We are working towards becoming more consistent. Every series presents a different challenge. We faced distinctive challenges in West Indies and UAE. How we accept the upcoming challenges and perform as a team is something worth looking at."

Bangladesh's batting department was also a concern during their series against the UAE. Apart from a century by Parvez Hossain Emon and a fifty from Tanzid Hasan, the rest of the batters failed to build on their starts. The skipper himself struggled for form, managing only 65 runs across three innings.

"I know how important my batting role is in this team," Litton said. "I will try my best to stay consistent. We have some good form players in the team. T20 needs a combined batting effort, so if we can do well together, we will have chance of good results."

The three-match T20I series kicks off on 28 May and concludes on 1 June, with all matches set to be played in Lahore.

Sufiyan is trash

Also, ODI and T20 are not the same

You can easily play A/R's in T20 and be very successful, just look at the WI's in the past

Even make-shift keepers are used quite frequently in T20

Hasan was in their plans for a long time. Was reading reports of his inclusion for more than a month now. Anyways, they were in the main squad so...
So without performance both Hasan and Shadab are playing. Hessen is just like a dummy coach with no authority. All these foreign coaches are same like local coaches. They just want money doing nothing.

We need wicket tackers as spinners, and shadab and khushdil economy is also not good

For the first time fakhar and saim are opening. It took these bafoons until fakhar reached retirement to finally create this opening duo?

Haysman: “Pakistan of course without Babar Azam….and Shaheen Shah Afridi”

He didn’t say Rizwan.

Looks like he has been fed specific information

In less than a year, Pakistan will be playing T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. The management should be asking the head curator to replicate the spin-conducive conditions that the side will encounter in the SL rather than rolling out hard, green surfaces.

How Hesson made this blunder is ridiculous

This is going to happen more and more going forward
