Pakistan (242/7) defeat South Africa (239/9) by 3 wickets in a nail biting encounter to win the 1st ODI

SA scoring at 4 rpo...if this was another Pakistani pair certain posters would have crucified them.
No-one criticised fakhar zaman as an opener? And most people don't talk about babar at the odi batter?

Rizwan’s 44 of 72's don't help anyone at no 4 lol.

These guys don't know the difference between t20 & odi's

Babar is decent odi player no doubt

Rizwan would have been a decent odi batsmen too like babar if he knew how to bat abit

If you look carefully at any Australia ODI XI, their Top 7 are all batters first, even the allrounders.

They are just very, very good at extracting 10 overs from a combination of the likes of Travis Head, Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh.

PAK should do something similar with Saim, KG etc.
I think even guys like Maxwell, Marsh and Stoinis offer much more with the ball than Saim and Agha.

But I guess if you want these guys to build that ability this is the best place to do that.

Saffers have to play more coloured/black players in bilaterals to make sure their quota averages over a year are maintained . This allows them to play their best squads in ICC events without worrying about transformation targets.

Besides , Mulder is injured and they probably don't have anyone else.
How does it work? Don’t they have to pick 6 coloured players per game? Or is it an average they have to maintain throughout the year and then they can pick all XI white players in ICC tournaments?

Average over all games for an entire season I think.

It used to be 6 every game but they loosened it up I think.

This Saffer lineup may prove to be tougher to dismantle than the Aussies.

The Rickleton's , Zorzi's and Stubbs' all have very decent List A records despite their lack of international experience.

That Aussie lineup had guys who had averages in the 20's and early 30's even in List A cricket.
Even more than that, I highly doubt that South Africa will be dishing out anything other than flat pitches in this series.

Beautiful batting track this. @Nikhil_cric sorry bro, but you've misread the pitch.

Its flying and coming on to the bat very nicely. Even mistimes are going for boundaries

If you're watching the broadcast , they already showed variable bounce in the track ?

Wasn't going by the pitch anyway. Just by historical scores.

Naseem has bowled poorly so far. Just floating it up up to be hit.

That was down Saim’s throat had he been on the edge of the circle

Ball is flying here

Fielders are toooo close to the bat

Naseem has bowled pathetically. That rubbish will get punished on any pitch. He's barely hitting the pitch and bowling wide when square boundary is very short.

It's just awful bowling.
Like most other PAK fast-bowlers, Naseem just hasn't been the same since returning from injury. A year ago (just before the WC) he was probably Pakistan's best bowler.

Yes abrar you magician...i cant understand what so ever muqeem had one bad match and he gets dropped this guy is a nothing bowler and was lucky to get the wickets and he will stay for teh year

I love when abrar nerd gets the treatment from batsmen.

He is the most cringe player in the world cricket right now along with that parrot dahani.

I hope KG can use this series and put up a couple of 50s at least - flat tracks and slightly above average bowling. If he doesn't perform, Pak should not give him a long rope.

Yeah. And I think PAK bowlers as a whole are vulnerable against left handed batters.

Even in the T20 series , Miller and Linde hit them when other batters couldn't.

Been a recurring theme for s while now.

I like this combination for PAK - 4 specialist bowlers on pure bowling merit (whatever SSA, Naseem or Rauf can slog is a bonus), 7 predominantly batsmen with few rolling arms and a very good WK that has 41/89 stats (though his SR can improve a little for contemporary context and I never liked WK as Captain).

All-rounders, based on combination contribution isn't PAK's game - team is more individualistic. However, not sure how many of them are up to the mark on their core skills.

Looks like PAK will chase over 300 today :)

Yes call a guy with 19 ODI 100s Zimbabar. Let me guess, you are a Sarfaraz and Sharjeel fan.
Hahahahah sarfraz the worst player ever and that fat hack who has never played a single good innings in his pathetic career.

Zimbabar is better than those losers but Zimbabar is way too overrated. He has zero performance against top teams.
