Low to total to chase but hope Pak openers come out swinging, none of this tuk tuk rubbish.

looks like this is the golden generation of pakistan odi team

you might change it after the next 50 overs or at the end of this series..

Need to wait and watch, but i hope things will be alright with the middle order problem on paper looks sorted out by now having proper batsman compared to the KIA bretheren..

NZ about 25 runs short. If one of Babar and Imam get in they will finish it easily.

NZL were struggling against spin. A good thinking captain like Dhoni , Ponting, Clarke , Stokes would have them bundled for 200 or less here, going for the kill.

Its time Babar need to learn the art of captaincy and killing the game when the opportunity is there.

Agha should have bowled more overs and would have made it difficult for the lefties to score against.. Haris shouldnt have bowled more than 5 because he was leaking runs and completely clueless except pace, also looks a little out of shape.

Wasim should have completed his ten.

I hope Rizwan is not coming to bat before Haris , lets see what does qudrat ka nizam Saqi bhai the dummy coach do..

Everyone knows I’m one of the initial investors in the M Nawaz stocks. However, the investors have lost a bit of confidence after he couldn’t hold his nerve in the t20 WC in back to back crunch encounters first with ball and then bat.

I want to see him learn from that and bounce back. He’s taking up a crucial spot in the team and failure to handle pressure to the degree he buckled in the tournament makes it look like we’re playing with 10 guys instead of 11.

Don’t know if he learned anything, but I’m trying be to positive and iA this past tournament has made him stronger mentally.

NZ have a bowler who averages 42 in 38 List A games sharing the new ball

Shipley list a average 42 wow...

He's a giant, shame he's a trundler.

Now you've said it, get ready to open the thread about the long list of mediocre players we've made to look good.

I'm liking this so far, need to keep up the fluency!

Shipley is meant to be the like-for-like replacement for Jamieson but doesn't look in the same class.

Now cue him taking a 5-fer...

Imam is totally opposite of other Pakistani batsmen. Started moderately but kept improving.

Must have shown some great improvement in recent times to be picked with his 42 list a average after some 40 odd games.

Faks looking comfortable, hope he doesn't throw it away.

Two of our best ODI batsmen at the crease now, need to make it count.

And Haris Sohail to come. This is a solid batting unit.

Add Shadab to this and it's a great, deep batting line with adequate experience too.

We cannot criticise batsmen for not being aggressive enough and then criticise them when they try to be aggressive.

The intent was right from Imam but execution was poor. Not easy for batsmen to find their timing on this slow, reused surface.

Lovely shot, hope Fakhar makes this start count.

Karachi pitch usually gets better to bat on under the lights.

I would still have preferred Abdullah Shafique rather than Haris Sohail in this team

You are joking right? The guy that scores 10 of 80 balls every single test is good enough for modern day ODI cricket?

Haris is the only middle order batsmen in Pakistan who can both accumulate and hit out.

Shipley looks like a proper run of the mill trundler. Kiwi version of Venkatesh Prasad.

Or even Tayyab and Ghulam, need to start looking at options to strengthen the middle order.

Faks swinging and missing a lot, keep calm lad.

Lol same shafique who is too slow even for tests?

And has no basis for selection whatsoever?

Different formats - give him a chance then see what he can do..

Six from Babar. Could see a big shot was coming as he was getting very frustrated with all these dots.

6 & 4 back to back and all of a sudden, Babar is looking fine out there.

Can PCB not have captains refrain from anglicising Fakhar's make if not pronouncing properly as it's obviously open to mispronunciation in the worst way. Use Zaman instead.

Meanwhile Babar is blossoming his innings :/

He can be our reserve opener for the world Cup. Difficult to see him removing fakhar or imam

Shouldn't be anywhere remotely near white odi squad. He's showed absolutely nothing to even consider him.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Pakistan keep struggling against Bracewell. He absolutely destroyed us in T20's, did well in Tests and now somehow struggling against him in ODI's.

It's so bizarre.

Indeed. He sucks the life out of our batting every single time and the guy can barely bowl.

Pakistan had different surfaces? It was always flat. I can only speak for India matches. India's run rate in Pakistan was 6.23 during 2000s compared to 5.58 in India.

Yep, every cricket game is always played on one surface.

Just as I was thinking Indian pitches will have more spin...gone to a straight one. Not quite
