Pakistan is set to face Zimbabwe in the third and final One-Day International of a three-match series. After losing the first encounter, Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe in the 2nd ODI to level the series. Under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan recently achieved a remarkable ODI series victory against Australia on their home soil. However, the Men in Green will be without several senior players, including Babar Azam, as a younger squad has been chosen for the challenge against the Chevrons.

All eyes will be on Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, who impressed with the bat during the Australia series. Skipper Rizwan will be pivotal in leading the side, supported by Kamran Ghulam, while Agha Salman and Irfan Khan Niazi are expected to strengthen the lower middle order.

On the Zimbabwean side, much will depend on Sikandar Raza, known for delivering standout performances in home conditions. Craig Ervine and Brian Bennett will be key figures in the batting lineup, while Sean Williams and Blessing Muzarabani pose significant threats with their experience and skill.

As the action unfolds at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, all eyes will be on how the pitch and conditions impact this intriguing contest.

Squads:

Zimbabwe
: Joylord Gumbie, Tadiwanashe Marumani(w), Dion Myers, Craig Ervine(c), Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Brian Bennett, Brandon Mavuta, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, Trevor Gwandu, Faraz Akram, Clive Madande, Tashinga Musekiwa, Tinotenda Maposa

Pakistan: Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Rizwan(w/c), Agha Salman, Haseebullah Khan, Irfan Khan, Aamer Jamal, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Faisal Akram, Abrar Ahmed, Shahnawaz Dahani, Ahmed Daniyal, Tayyab Tahir

I don’t care about the result. I am hoping that the benched players get a chance.

Toss Update:

Pakistan win the toss and opt to bat first.

Playing just two pacers in a one day is just criminal..this looks a better wicket with no much spin and i rate Zimbabwe batting they have just been over attacking

Middle order is unreliable expect a collapse If these two fails

Not enough strike rotation from these 2... Better sides will not serve you these boundary balls every over

Strike rotation is a big problem.
A 4 and 4 singles are more damaging than 2 boundaries as good teams wont let u get away with facing 4 5 dots in a row

Kamran is no LOI player so as Shafiq. Any top team will bowl us out under 150.

Kamran Gulham looks so pathetic, it is like a number 8 batsman batting

To be an honest performance against Zimbabwe doesn't matter. Most of the associate team beat Zimbabwe and we treating them like big team. This team doesn't have any future.

Why isn’t this considered good? This is a sluggish Zimbabwe pitch where 200 is a solid score.

When Babar and Rizwan play similar innings on a flat track, they’re called all-time greats. But when someone else does it on a sluggish pitch, it’s suddenly not good?

What kind of logic is that?

KG , Abdullah , Babar , Rizwan and Salman all play same type of cricket. how does that fit into strategy of adapting to modern day cricket after failure in cwc 2023

Abdullah Shafique's strike rotation is very, very poor. Especially early on. Dot ball percentage is too high.

Relies on boundaries alone to score

This is pathetic batting... too many dot balls.

Saim should have batter more here. only he could have attacked these bowlers.

No doubt strike rotation is very poor..all of the rest of the batters are the same

This Shafiq will cost us big matches. Playing non-existence innings will not help us in future. Pathetic that Aaqib can't even see that.

Sluggish pitch this is a 200 pitch

KG will look bad on any pitch, plays with hard hands and will always struggle to rotate the strike. Limited stroke play who doesn’t have 4th or 5th gear

Abdullah should get a move on now. KG is not a odi Player. Babar will anyway replace KG and Abdullah By Fakhar Zaman.

off topic.. Pak play zimb regularly but Pak and Bangladesh have not played ODI series since April 2015. almost 10 years. Crazy to think.

They played T20s and Tests mainly. I wish they would play ODIs as I love ODI the most.

its an unusual gap of 10 years. does nt happen with other teams. Pak has played Multiple odi series with every full member except India in last 10 years

Our batter don't have any urgency to score faster. They are happy and satisfied with their performances. Pathetic!!!!

Zimbabwe commentator is minnow level just like their team

50 up for Abdullah at snails pace. Should up the ante now.

50 up for Abdullah off 66 balls... need to get three figures now

Shafiq reminds me Wasjatullah Wasti. All he knows tuk tuk tuk.

We gotta accept that Fakhar is need of the time. Drop this pathetic abdullah
