Pakistan A squads announced for the 5th One-Day and 2-match T20 series against England Lions

Lahore-December 3, 2018: The National Selection Committee headed by Inzamam ul Haq has announced the 13-member Pakistan ‘A’ squad for Fifth One-Day and Two-Match T-20 series against England Lions. The fifth One-Day will be played on December 5, 2018 in Dubai. The two-match T-20 series will be played on December 7 and 8, 2018 at Nursery Oval, Abu Dhabi.

They way Inzi selects these A teams it seems like he wants to keep all TTF's busy somewhere so that youngsters get their chances in domestic.

The two Irfan's probably the only interesting selections.

I can see 9 or 10 out of 13 in both squads are Over 25; that too on official age. Where do you see mostly?

I actually see 3/4 Over 30 bowlers in both squad. This is after the pious man declaring that no Over 30 player is going to make the A squad. Might have forgot own prophecy.....

And that's why I am surprised to see people happy about this. 70% of the players will not make it to Mickey Arthur's team. So what's the reason of trying them out against a decent bowling line up? I'd rather see how Saud, Saad do against Wood.

Why is there no Saud Shakeel? Trash squads. Why is Zohaib Khan selected in T20's? Too old and never going to make an international side. Inzi clearly lacks brains and this may be why he was so prone to getting run out during his playing career...

Both Saud and Rizwan will play the emerging tournament. But still not an excuse as there are other younger bats who could make it to Pak team.

Previous few CS were clueless- you could hear them once or twice & could realise that. For example, Qasim said we are preparing a team for WC (2015), then exactly two years before WC, PAK played a XI in SAF with 9 players over 30, 4 over 35 and the 10th one 29. Then he said, we are picking team based on tournament condition - then picked 3-4 spinners for 2013 CT, in May/June, in UK!!!

BUT, this guy is not clueless, he is hypocrite - he’ll speak out right words, politically correct words - then do exactly what is in his mind (often biased) & most irritating is that he’ll use the weight of his playing career to give justifications. For example, take Asia Cup - explanation for 6 pacers was net practice ...... Asia Cup went a bit... you know. Now, for 5 Tests in a row, he hasn’t changed much - picked 1.5 spinners and only significant changed from Asia Cup combination was to give his buddy MoHa a life line for 3 formats.

PAK should win the OD series against Pom Lions, even 2-3 isn’t a bad result, considering Rizwan is out - so, obviously his selections will be proven right again for trolls to put me in place. No issues.

Kamran Ghulam - guy deserved a look. If he doesn't get a chance in UAE, then may be Ul Haq will take him to UK in return series

If Inzamam had selected even 3 from that list he could have solved a lot of issues for Pakistan. Also considering Hasan Mohsin, Saif Badar have been doing well in domestic.

Inzi's new A tours policy seems to be to reward domestic performers even though he promised in 2016 he would not select many 30+ players for A tours.
