Sami Aslam out LBW.
He has been completely out of form. Struggled big time against UAE and got out very cheaply today as well. Seems like he needs more FC matches under his belt.

110/3 good so far us considering McCullum has been giving every bowler a go.
 
McCullum should go in for the kill, these two are the last 2 recognized batsmen.

Remove these two and bowl them out for under 200.
 
Reckon if Babar scores a ton here again he could make the test team ahead of Hafeez

Its between Shan and Babar now.

Sami Aslam is so overrated. A complete minnow basher and dreadful at strike rotation like Shehzad.

You have been a fan of him in the past.

You do not understand cricket. Sami has tons in tough conditions.

He has scored against the PAK team.

He looks great at U-19 level against pathetic attacks but has nothing to show for against quality bowlers and his strike rate has always been dreadful. The difference in caliber between him and Babar Azam is clear.

Babar > U. Akmal > Shehzad > Sami > Masood

Where is Haris, Maqsood, Amin, Jamshed?

And Babar ahead of Akmal? Chill.

I know all of these guys and I know who is the best and who will be the best.

Yup, Babar is quite ahead of Aslam.

Shehzad=Haris> Akmal > Babar >> Sami > Jamshed > Masood.
 
Umar doesn't have a brain while Shehzad is short on ability.

Babar has brains (Shehzad) and skill (Umar).

minnow basher? he got centuries against England U-19 in England when team totals were 220-240. He got runs against all top FC teams. This is obviously a different level and he is obviously not ready yet but its funny how you dismissed him as a minnow basher when he thrashed the very best teams in youth teams and FC cricket. Looks like you've found a new punching bag :fadi:uakmal:sahmed:shehzad

I rate temperament, ability to score tons as a talent too. Much better than two glorious cover drives if you ask me.

Too early to say.

Umar looked the best upcoming bat in the world when he was 19.

Shehzad is quality.

He has been found wanting against the good bowlers in pretty much every high profile game he has played. You gotta take these chances because they don't regularly at this age. Babar Azam is doing that and he isn't.

Umar always had a streaky nature. Babar builds his innings and has shown temperament.

Shehzad is quality only when pacers are operating and there is no swing and seam on offer. Mediocre otherwise.
 
I read an early interview of Babar of how he enjoyed opening but looking at his struggle in FC cricket, it was a wise move to drop him down the order (still opens in list-A thou). I'd prefer him in the squad instead of Taufeeq, he can open or bat in the middle too while also bowls decent off spinners. That will put real pressure on the professor :))
 
Babar shouldn't get a test match for at-least another year.

Let him play FC for awhile, get him in the ODI team post the WC. Once he establishes him there, them tests should be the next step.

Two bad games here and God knows what will happen to him.

I've always rated Babar as a better talent too, no argument there. I'm talking about the dismissing tone you have for just about any player who isnt pleasing on the eye or doesnt start from the get go. Sami is only 18 now and he is qualified as a minnow basher? he hasnt even played minnows FFS !

It would be a good idea to keep him in the squad inplace of Taufeeq. It will be a great exposure for him even if he doesnt get any test match !
 
By the looks of it Shan will be opening in the first test.

I would have gone with Azhar and Haris coming in the middle order.

How is Adil Amin? His FC record is terrible to say the least.
