Really disappointed with Sami Aslam. He has to take grab these opportunities.

We have good players ready once Younis and Misbah retires. The selectors will have a luxurious problem.

Umar Akmal, Maqsood, Fawad, Haris Sohail, Babar Azam to mention some middle order players. Future looks good inshaAllah.

The way these two are batting they will probably give a session to the kiwis to chase down a stiff target.

Aman, will Sodhi play the first Test?

He is not very good. Follow the commentary on cricinfo: boundaries come off edges and he has a penchant for ducking in to short balls

Yes, his technique is really poor and a minnow basher.

Sami aslam isn't too talented, he is a bit of grinder, needs to work on his game for now, he isn't ready for international cricket yet

There's 36 overs left :ibutt

No wonder they're making merry now.

Going at 2.47 an over against an attack lead by Wagner and Bracewell :91:

They should not allow NZ to bat, getting batting practice for these youngsters is more important than showing Courtesy towards Touring sides and allowing them to bat

I don't mind if they bat at 1/over, these 2 should not throw their wickets away, these A-games can give them ticket to international cricket if they score heavily

Look at the last 10 overs, run rate close to 5 an over. They are playing smart cricket here. They can play carefully and they can attack when they want. That is Test cricket stuff for you.

What on earth? Match drawn?! Over already?

Convict we've already done better than the ozzies :))

PP needs to fix the background. Very hard to see if you have new notifications. :ibutt

definatley not ready. Cant play the moving ball! needs to hit runs in domestic, babar and sohail are next on the list not sami.

the A team which played Aussies was stronger with Shahzad , Shafiq , Rahat ,Talha . so cant really compare between NZ and Aus at the moment

Harris and Babar Azam are massive massive talents. We already have replacements lined up for when Misbah and Younis retire.

Sharjah: Pakistan A’s top order batsmen played confidently to ensure a draw against New Zealand on the final day of their three-day tour match at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

New Zealand, who had declared their first innings at 244 for eight after taking a lead of 29 runs, picked up a wicket late on the second day to put pressure on Pakistan.

But their plans of running their batting line-up failed as opener Sami Aslam and Abid Ali put on 49 for the second wicket.
Mark Craig removed Aslam for 31, before Doug Bracewell bowled Abid Ali for 33 with the score on 84.

Haris Sohail and Babar Azam, who also batted brilliantly against Australia at Sharjah, played confidently as they put on an unbeaten 69 for the fourth wicket.

Sohail remained unbeaten on 40 off 107 balls with five boundaries and a six, while Azam remained unconquered on 34 off 59 balls with six hits to the boundary.

New Zealand bowled 55 overs on the final day but could get only two wickets and opted for a draw. Pakistan finished on 153 for three.

After the match, New Zealand fast bowler Neil Wagner said: “Corey Anderson showed a lot of good stuff with the bat. It’s always tough in a warm-up game because you are trying a few things and testing a few methods. We’ve got a lot of positives, with Ish Sodhi getting his five-for and the spinners doing really well.

“Obviously it was a real plus for us seeing all our boys doing well. So it just shows the depth in the camp at the moment and that’s really good to see.”

The New Zealand team now leave for Abu Dhabi to take on Pakistan in the first Test starting on Sunday.

Brief scores
Pakistan A first innings: 215 for 9 in 90.3 overs
New Zealand A first innings: 244 for 8 dec.
Pakistan A second innings: 153 for 3 in 63 overs (Haris Sohail 40no, Babar Azam 34no, Abid Ali 33, Sami Aslam 31)

That's a comical statement. The over hyping continues :))

Not just that..They will finish as better players than them.Yk and Misbah however good they are but they are limited. Thatst why YK has failed to be a good ODI batsman and Misbah gets lot of critcism for his ODI style of play but Misbah fans defend him by giving an excuse of too many wickets fell early so he has to play slow when reality is that he can only play two way. Tuk tuk or Boom Boom. No middle game or risk free cricket to go the scorecard ticking without having to play slog sweeps or reverse sweeps.

Unlike these two Haris and Baber posses everything to be a classy batsman who can play all the shots against any bowlers..not just keep sweeping spinners but can play drives and pull shots against fast bowlers.
