The score is flattering Pak A, McCullum has been letting them pick off easy runs.
 
Guess we won't get to see Boult and Southee with the new ball :(

Bilawal at-least can bowl 140 plus.

I think they chose Anwar because he captained some domestic side iirc. We didnt have any other player so they prolly thats why made him the captain. Otherwise shafiq would have been the choice.

its a shame that nobodies like Abid Ali gets to play at 3 while Fawad is not even in contention. He could've been the ideal person to lead this team !

What has he achieved? Plays useless stats boosting innings in ODIs and in Tests, he has goes missing but scores in one innings after 2 series to maintain a decent looking average.

Highly overrated.

So far he has done little to suggest that he isn't a minnow basher.

Not hating, but he missed out 3/4 times where as everyone else barring Hafeez cashed in every time.

Shafiq and Sarfraz hardly got a chance to bat after the first innings. It was a mediocre effort by Shehzad in context and he showed little to suggest that he's Test class.

Looks like another LOI specialist being shoehorned into the Test team.

I don't know what to say.:))

If he averages 45 in such circumstances after playing 5 years or more of test cricket then we will talk. By the way Shafiq averaged 55 too.

Apart from scoring tons after tons,8 at the age of 22 out of which 7 are in wins; not much.

First he wasn't able to play swing, spin; proceeds to score a ton in SA and a test ton against Herath, Lyon. Now its average boosting innings. Whats next??
 
Some pretty ordinary batting by Pak A.

RR of 2.2 and they're 6 down :facepalm:
 
The most alarming stat is Boult + Southee have only bowled 20 overs between them.

It's the others that have done the bulk of the work and damage.

Totally appalling selections. Where are the likes of Umar, Maqsood etc.

Would have preferred to face them, playing a side like this isn't going to help us much.

Does this include the one vs Bangladesh in the Asia Cup? One of the worst ODI hundred of all time.

Anything but match winning. When came to the crease RRR was around 6.2 and when he left, it had jumped to 11. Afridi and Fawad won us that match.

His struggles against swing and spin are clear and was the only batsman who made Lyon look like a bowler and not a part timer. I don't recall anyone else getting trapped LBW to him caught at the crease.

Shafiq batted only twice so his average doesn't say much. Could have been better or worse, no one knows.

Shezza was smacking jhono in the first over and scored iirc 20 runs or something before he took his wicket on the last ball.

I agree on the shoehorned part. But lets give him time. He has already scored 2 test centuries. :)

Scoring 14 runs and then being made to look like an idiot with a clear 2 card trick in the same over isn't something to brag about.

also scored a ton in NZ again at a young age. Must be a really rubbish player.
 
Great finish for NZ, probably could have rolled them for under 150 if McCullum really attacked.
 
Can't they pick real potentials for these A games rather than hacks like Adnan and Anwar Ali.
 
It is an A-team playing against NZ..... fawad, maqsood, u.akmal, umer amin, jamshed(recently made 134 against UAE), these are the guys u have selected for the last couple of series and been in ur plans for quite a while and also for the WC, and some of them will also play against NZL in the ODI series, so why not give them the chance to face the NZL bowlers in this practice matches...the new 6-men selection committee under moin was doing a great job but this selection is kinda little stupidity..

Highest scorer in U19 history. Tons in England in tough conditions. Top FC performances against top teams.

You can just state that "you" don't like him, but posting false info doesn't add any credibility to your argument.

Meh.

Regular went missing against the good bowling attacks in U-19 while scoring hundreds against nobodies. Takes a bloody long time to get going as well.

Scoring in FC doesn't guarantee success. Definitely an inferior player compared to Babar Azam and he has done little so far to suggest that doesn't have a taste of bashing minnows. What are his performances against the best bowling attacks at the U-19 level?
 
I'd back Shehzad to clobber both Southee and Boult, but I highly doubt he would get the better of Craig who is fairly new to the international circuit. I've seen improvements from him against spin bowling so I'm expecting big things from him.

Southee and Boult have had the better of players much better than Ahmed Shezad

Adil Amin has scored some runs against UAE as well. Let's see what he comes up with next, Scored 40 today. Shan Masood should not be selected. SR of barely 38.

Going through a bad patch these days. Happens. I predict it'll turn out to be like Sarfraz situation, underrated but then amazes everyone when starts performing. Wait for him to join the national side.
