He played till 93 and then randomly played 96. It does not mean his strike rate should be compared with all the 90s players.

strike rates really took off after kalu and jayasuriya smashed everyone in the 96 World Cup.

Javed was on his last legs even in the early 90s and had limited himself to play anchor. Nothing wrong with that

Miandad is an atg. However he's bashed way too much by some Indians and overrated a bit too much by some pakistani's.

His peak during the late 80's made him pretty much unstoppable and anyone who's watched his innings would know he was next level.

But by the 90's he was selfish and really shpuld have called it a day. Their wasn't a need for miandad in the side when inzi, Saeed and all these new buds were around

Thanks to my biggest fan (Hitman) he posted some stats on another thread. Javed had one of the best averages in ODIs in the 80s with a very respectable strike rate for the time.

Zaheer’s average was higher but he played fewer matches.

Both ATGs!
