Sarfaraz Ahmed has announced the playing XI for the first T20I against Australia:

Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Hussain Talat, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi

Alhumdulilah humain T20 format mein aek experienced player ki zarorat thi - :inzi2

Sarfraz and Babar should never play a T20 game for Pakistan.

What is this new trend of announcing teams before matches? Aussies used to do it in test matches but now every team seems to be doing it

pretty solid squad overall

Malik / Hafeez will be competing for the same spot. Malik is performing, and Hafeez (somehow) manages to score some runs, Hunnain Talat might be the odd man out (once Malik returns)

Predictable XI - when Malik returns, he'll replace one of Talat or Asif. MoHa was always going to play & looks like he'll open as well.

We have an extremely unprofessional practice of announcing the playing 11 before the game, why not keep it a secret and keep the opposition in suspense? Why give them maximum opportunity to plan against you?

One century and he continues....but after all he could have continued even with out that as we have chachu doing it for him.

Looks like Mickey has given up his resistance on Hafeez. Hopefully he will fail as usual without wasting too many deliveries.

Talat has often done well when he gets a chance, still the likes of Asif Ali get the nod over him in ODIs?

I have a feeling that Mickey plays his favorites, may be Inzi too goes by what Mickey wants.

Feels like we play more of these T20I series than most teams.

Hafeez's predictable inclusion aside, it's the right selection though I'd like a specialist spinner inducted for limited ovsrs matches in UAE.

Great to see professor sahab serving his beloved country even in the late 30s/40s. True successor of Misbah! These 2 guys are an inspiration for the likes of Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Sami etc. Great guide to the youngsters how to learn from the bench.

To let the opposition know "Hum Bata kr lety Hain" :afridi

In the Zimbabwe T20 tri series he kept stalling our innings with his run a ball SRs. He struggled to hit boundaries and had some technical issues.

Him and Asif Ali should probably switch formats.

Hafeez mafia is on the move, it's the strongest mafia now that Akmal mafia and Misbah mafia have been abolished.

Hafeez looks at ease in limited overs cricket and tbh this format suits him. I have no problems in him being part of the squad. I just dont like his name in the test eleven opening the bat.

While it's sad Farhan is not playing realistically I don't see him making the world cup team in ODIs. And if he was, only going to get dropped when Malik returns. Thus little point of playing him. We need to sort out the no.7 slot badly and it's good all potential players are playing. Talat will probably make the most sense if he can bat, given he's a batting allrounder, it'll strengthen our line up. Unless Fahim can finally prove he has the batting needed to take the no.7 slot.

What we should have done instead was to pick a fast bowler instead of Hafeez. Junaid would be preferable but since he's not there Shinwari could have been a good pick. Our other issue is the fast bowlers where none of them really have secure spots atm. We need to make sure all these selections build towards the world cup and Hafeez's doesn't do that.

Mr. Eistein Safraz/Mickey needs to know there is such a thing as keeping the opposition guessing as to whom will be playing till the last minute...when you announce a playing XI this early, only one party can benefit from it and that is the opposition!

Hafeez replacing Malik that is.

People who thought Farhan would be playing are deluded and don't known how Pakistan works.

Amazing people are moaning on inclusion of Babar. Has someone looked at his T20 stats?

I will take Hafeez over Sahibzada Farhan. The little I have seen of Farhan hasn’t impressed me. He is flat footed and doesn’t have the power game to succeed in T20s. Not only him, Talat Hussain is also not suited for this format.

Farhan is very lucky to be even in the squad, filled completely against NZ A. If you look at our team across the 3 formats, our T20 team is the worst. Instead of hard hitters like Fakhar or players who play fast like Malik, we are stuck with likes of Sahibzada and Talat. It is amazing that despite being filled with non-T20 players, we ar number 1 in this format.

Not a bad team with a long batting line up. Time for Imad Wasim to perform. Bowling seems to be a bit short.

Talat should never play t20s avg 29 and 116 strike rate. The guy has played 10 matches and has one 50,
He will be failure against big teams.
Last series he was batting at snail pace.

Horses for courses guys . Hafeez is a worthy replacement for Malik . The only thing is that he should bat in the middle order he must not and I say it again he must not open the innings. What surprises me is why they keep giving Hussain Talat so many chances , his batting has absolutely no class . This guy is not even a hack . I'm sure there are better batsman around lost in oblivion.

Farhan's recent performance in Pakistan A team was a DISASTER.
Hafeez atleast can bowl and 1 experience player in a t20 squad is a must.
