Another pointless series which we will treat as a World cup. Babar should have been rested, Haris is way past it. RIz should have been rested and Haris should be playing all 3 matches.

Oh yes Riz has cemented his spot in ODIs to be rested
I was thinking Agha could share with Sohail in bowling duties with Agha doing the bulk. Your batting looks a bit weak especially the middle order, but I guess we don't have much choice.
Why isn’t Mhd Harris in the squad?
Would just be one in that case and Pakistan can pull it off. Shadab best skill is vs spin and attacking spinners so there is a case to be made for sending Shadab up the order if there's a need around 25 overs in. Could also send up Nawaz to bat vs spinners if a lefty batter is needed instead.
If they do play guys like Kamran & Haris at 4/5 or Agha at 5, then Pakistan have enough players who can play spin well if you are sending Shadab up but at the moment, they do lack a big hitter at the end and honestly, in this squad, I would prefer Iftikhar over Tayyab who can bat at that #6 position and Pakistan can try to save to attack pacers at the end. Khushdil was fine in this role too and helped Pakistan win matches vs Australia & WI. He was woeful in T20's but its not to be confused witih ODI's because he has been fine in that.
Well I wouldn't trust Agha and Haris to bowl 15 overs between them consistently.Ideally I would have included Kamran Ghulam but I prefer Tayyab and Haris over him. This is the best middle order we have and is much better than previews middle orders we have tried.
Can we really come to that conclusion given its untried? Tayyab is new, Haris has been brought back out of the blue without any performance to back his selection and Rizwan has been garbage.
Thankfully, we don't know the team yet so might not be this.
Because Rizwan is our main white ball keeper apparently
Sarfaraz is next in line, not Harris
But Tayyab is just as good player of spin as Haris and Kamran Ghullam.I would have picked Haris over Agha.
Disappointed that here is no M. Haris.
They are clearly tring to protect Rizwans confidnece.
This selection committee does not have Rizwan’s back.
They may not, but babar and mustaq do, bit of a cold war happening
Rizwan is a clutch player but this has to be his last series in the ODI middle order before we try something else. He has not yet adapted his game to middle overs and the WC is too close not to experiment.
If we can't play Rizwan at 7 then we need to pick a wicketkeeper who can.
While opening may be the best use of Rizwan's skills, Imam and Fakhar cemented their places years ago and complement eachother well. I'd rather pick Mohammad Haris at 7 then displace this pair.

Haris averages 27 in this season Pakistan Cup, he doesn't have the temperament to bat more than 10 to 20 balls. It is just not good enough
Rana why is Sharjeel not selected?
Right so why is there a need for 3 similar player on the roster? Salman offers off-spin which is not something they have on the roster and his domestic SR is better than all of them.
Sarfaraz should be playing as a specialist batsman at the very least. The standout player, man of the series scoring lots of runs at a good pace. How does he not make the ODI team?

Because of Afridi’s weird rotation policy
Please, Let’s respect the Winston Wolf of Pakistan cricket.
He's made an extremely strong case to be picked for the ODI team based on his performance in this test series. His impetus has been refreshing and he naturally slots into an ODI middle order better than Rizwan at this point.
Nothing wrong with Rizwan getting this series though. He has been the better batsman and wicket keeper over a longer period. But if Rizwan has another middling output then the calls for Sarfaraz to replace him may end up getting too loud to ignore.

“We have given new players a chance in the upcoming New Zealand series because we want to give Babar plenty of options in order to finalise the combination for the World Cup"
Weird
How is Sarfaraz or Mohammad Harris not a better wicket keeper/batsman option?
