Pakistan batsmen resilient on rain-hit Day 4, reach 100/2 at Stumps, still trail by 210 runs

I know this is England’s home series, I just wish Akram on commentary would talk about Pakistan more

It's hopeless to expect much analysis on the opposition during any England home series. The commentators are obsessed about the English team and it has always been like this.

As for Akram, he'll just follow the lead of his fellow commentator. He doesn't have the skills to initiate an insightful conversation on his own.

Don't want to see shan and Abid opening up for the next test whenever that is going to be

Compared to the england openers i think these two has done really for pak as the touring side.

These two should continue as long as they are good enuf to see off the new ball

Yeah umps, we can’t let Pakistan get runs off 2 spinners so let’s go off, even though you were happy enough with that 60 seconds ago

Surely we can find two openers somewhere in Pakistan who don’t have their trousers and gloves full of cement?

The reason why Sky have nearly 100% ECB rights is to make sure that they over-hype each English player and build them to the upper middle class families who will later spend thousands of £££ on the development of their children’s cricket.

Don’t expect them to focus too much on non English players

Pak still trailing 216 runs , will be hard to fight against the inns defeat. With misbahi mindset as they are now, inns defeat is inevitable and only showers of rain can save them. They should have wiped atleast 60% of the deficit today even with the defensive mindset.

34 overs of play lost today. They could have started a bit early given the forecast

Yes that's the reason lmao, nothing to do with the fact it is one their national sports.

Obviously their coverage is biased towards favouring England because it is coverage for English viewers.

What nonsense!!

Just thought, out of the two openers PAK have fielded this series, which one do you give the comparative edge to? I am not talking about their future capabilities but only their performance in this series. Also, neither is world class and I do not mean to engage in an absolute bench-marking exercise. But between the two of them only, would you rather have SM who got a big one or AA who get multiple starts but no big score?

Both had drops and chances so I would say it's quite interesting. What say? :)

Neither inspire me with confidence.

Shan takes the edge in the series purely for his century.

Hope Anderson can get his 600 test wicket tommorow and then it rains washing out the entire day with the match ending in a draw. A bowler like him deserves 600 test wickets.

I'm hoping he doesn't and he has to wait until next year to get it. I'm not sure if England are playing any winter series this year?

Lets not be too harsh English openers were edgy in the series as well, and thewyplaying in their home conditions and that too against an inexperienced bowling line up.

Maximum 35 overs will be possible tomorrow, which even looks tight considering that the groundsmen will need to clear water. Azhar & Abid has done most of the hard work here - now Azhar must make sure that if play takes place tomorrow, PAK doesn’t boot it. 0-1 is always better than 0-2.

Great performance from Azhar Ali in this test match

Our batting hasn’t done that bad in this series, it’s not the biggest worry but two inexperience bowlers and not so good Yasir are real cause of concern

Yeah. I think Pakistan have done well overall considering the inexperience.

Pakistan probably would've won this series 1-0 had there not been that Woakes-Butler partnership.

Test Cricket is a joke no matter how you slice and dice it. 5 days of rain pouring in. I am not sure why Test Cricket is still a thing in 2020.

You wouldnt be saying that if Bangladesh weren't so persistently embarrassing at it. You are coping

Test is fine. Cricket is incomplete without Test.

Rain would've stopped T20 game too.

Not a bad day at the office. wasnt a lot happening but it looks like pakistani batsmen carried the momentum from the first innings to the second one despite england bowlers getting intermittent rests somewhat offsetting the benign conditions out there and their poor catching. The 2 batsmen who were given out were unlucky too imo, both calls were quite marginal.

Any chance of play tommorow not trying to wake up early again just for a couple overs of play and then rain! I really want to see Azhar and Babar score hundreds!
