Although I think we are 20-30 runs short on this pitch - it is still a commendable achievement for us. Especially given our recent batting woes recently...

Now critics will point out the super flat pitches we are playing on but keep in mind the pitches of the Eng vs NZ series in 2015, England vs WI in 2019, India vs Aus in 2013, SAF vs England in 2016 etc...

Don’t worry. Soon England will be the first Team to score over 340 3 consecutive times to win chasing

nice thing is England cannot become the first team in ODI history to score 350+ 3 games in a row today. good work.

while its a positive thing for sure, this is another meaningless stat, kind of like some of the stats we like to boast about like t20 number 1 ranking and some of our players averages inflated by scores against zim, etc.

at the end of the day, its a team game and only 1 think matters. Winning.

Englands bowling must be rubbish aswell considering Pakistan scored high every match or the pitches are pancakes work it out yourself.

Not liking this new form of cricket where bowlers are mere spectactors.

Nasir Hussain just said something along the line.....below;

A month ago, If somebody had asked the fans, Micky and the players that will they take 340 in first three ODIs of series. EVERYBODY would have said yes.

It is the bowling that is letting us down... which did the same in series vs Aus in UAE a few weeks ago.

This type of batting will help Pakistan do well in the WC but this type of bowling won't.

This is what the sponsors and fans want - not talking about the PP “experts” but of the masses who follow cricket casually...

It is us who have to adapt and bowl according. Stick to a plan with defensive fields

England batted first in the 2nd ODI. But I'm sure you're feeling much better after getting that snarky comment out of the way :))

Redux: don’t worry England will soon hold the record for the first team to score 340+ 3 consecutive times to win a game all 3 times

And what happens if they don't win will you come back and post another rebuttal :))

Dug a hole for yourself and you are only going deeper :sarf2

Pak won’t win .

We need Pak to suffer to root out the rot

I agree regarding fans and sponsors but if it becomes too monotonous, we will not only see lack of kids opting for bowling in future but even the crowd will be bored of this monotony. Cricket has only survived till now because of both aspects in the game being enjoyable for spectators whether its bowling and batting.

Even English bowlers have been going for plenty, one of the most remembered match of WC 2015 was low scoring match of Aus vs NZ.

Who would have thought we would all be alive to see this magical day sick achievement though we’re around 7 years late

I thought Inzamam selected a team that was never going to be able to score 340 even once, let alone three times against the World Cup hosts and favourites? Furthermore, if Shadab and Amir had been fit, we would have won the previous two matches.

I think the batting is trending in the right direction finally though still needs improvement ... Bowling is the much bigger issue which has largely been pedestrian post CT and the main reason why we have been losing games after games. It has really been sub par. You should not be losing games if your batsmen put up 350+.

We'd be having a different conversation if bowling wasn't struggling.

Cricket is surviving due to T20 cricket - fast run scoring and big hitting is what is generating the excitement and crowds and hence why IPL/ PSL etc. is so successful.

One of the main reasons test cricket is dying is because runs are not scored quickly enough (in addition to being too long)

Let minus Junaid's runs given from the total, what would be total your other 4 brilliant bowlers will be willing to defend?

Well surely England are gonna break that record too

Didn't think I'd ever see Pakistan doing this. Certainly not outside of Asia/the Middle East.

A record shared with in 4 hours of first occurrence.

Is there any team failing to defend 340 or more in back to back games? I think Aussies once lost to Kiwis 3-0 after scoring over 300 all 3 times.

Pak conceding 340 plus three times would not be shocking for many, but Pak scoring 340 Plus three times in Eng is indeed shocking. The team will remain mediocre but there appears to be some improvement in batting.I just hope that we don't become 220 run team again.

Then they went on to win the world cup

Not sure if Test cricket is dying as it never had massive crowds anyway. England and Australia are the only places they are sold out. Even the last tests in Pakistan only had a few hundred spectators which is almost a decade ago. ODI cricket and now T20 always added the glamour, generated money. But people still do watch tests in bits and pieces especially the ones on sporting tracks.

Tests are still there and probably will be for their symbolic value and as the last hurdle for any cricketer to achieve greatness in the game.

I think the first game was a low scorer . Australia were shot out for 160-170 but the next two games were high scoring ones. NZ won the series 3-0 though. Pakistan might indeed be the first team to lose 3 consecutive ODIs despite scoring 300+.

Looking at aus batsmen struggle against eng bowling attack pakistan batsmen were outstanding against england bowling attack in that series .Bowling lead us down in that series not the batting
