What's new

Pakistan bowled out for 239 at Stumps on Day 3 thanks to fightback by Faheem (91) and Rizwan (71)

I just tuned back in a minute ago, to see how Yasir was batting. Mai band hi kardeta hun

Don't feel bad I went to bed at midnight when they took lunch and the period I was sleeping they lost only one wicket. Upon my viewing again they lost 3,ans more to come in little while.

i refuse to watch such pathetic display. Therefore im watching Rahane bat. Great batting frok a proper dedicated batsman for his team, under so much pressure after the 1st test debacle

Pakistan should look to save the follow-on. NZ will be forced to bat atleast two sessions then.

Think NZ should still bat even if they can enforce follow on. Get a lead of 200 , bat 2 sessions tomorrow score 250+ and set a target of 450 runs and have a go at Pakistan for 4 sessions. That will be enough to bowl out a tired Pakistan.

I dont think NZ will ensure follow on. They will look to bat 50-60 overs and score 200 odd.

Hopefully, this is why I kind of hope Pakistan avoid the follow on so Kane doesn't consider bowling again.

Should give the bowlers a rest and smash a quick 200-250.

Fahim even in 3 days of this series has exceeded all expectations. First disciplined bowling, now a very good counter attacking knock.

Also a lot of his edges have gone flying over fielders. Fortune favoring the brave here.

This is Faheem 2.0.

We need to wait atleast 5 more versions to get a more than decent allrounder.

Intent of Faheem has been blueprint for Pak’s main batsmen after the first 10-15 overs. To just keep on blocking without any intent is not the way to go anywhere.

Wagner was only cleared to bowl after completing his warm-ups ahead of play, after an X-ray confirmed he had fractured the fourth toe in his right foot while batting on day two.

He was hit on the foot by Pakistan left-armer Shaheen Shah Afridi and received treatment from Black Caps physio Tommy Simsek at the time, but solidered on and was the last man out, contributing 19 to his side’s total of 431.

As they took the field, Wagner was initially absent, but he returned after sending down a few deliveries and got through three overs before the undisplaced fracture was confirmed overnight.

Honestly I feel so confused. Sometimes we are not good enough and I go into sadness. Now seeing this I get hope and see potential and become optimistic. Being a PCT fan does this

What hope? We are 220-8

Thats what inconsistency and poor management of players gives you.

Good heart shown by Faheem but Pakistani fans please don’t forget for your own future sanity, the amount of runs he’s scored of edges and ‘lapaaru’ shots. You will build a expectations of a genuine all rounder from him and would be disappointed.

Looking forward to Masood producing another hard working and intelligent single digit score.

Man I wish rizwan hadn’t gotten out in such a stupid manner. We may have been able to cut the lead to under 150 for sure

That's why we aren't good enough we take small cameos granted despite long list of failure's

Any comments on Rizwan and Faheem innings 🤔🤔🤔

Rizwan played very well and was organized. Played proper cricket which he also did on England tour.

Faheem’s has been a streaky innings with several edges and ‘lapaaru’ shots which could have gone anywhere. I wouldn’t put too much hopes on him going forward if this is style of batting.

Always happen by our deluded fans now faheem is next stoke

Anyone hear the Boult and Faheem chats?

“You’re thinking about a hundred”

“Have you had one before?”

“No, [X] on debut”

“It’s a great feeling”

Lol

Faheem deserves a hundred here - brilliant counter attack. This actually tells what time in middle can do for batsmen, BUT with right intension.

From 52/5 to 221/8... Obviously give some hope

Look who is scoring Faheem Rizzu. I have no hopes from oldies. But this means we do have players (even in domestics) who need to be given long rope.

I understand but come on, this isnt that great of an achievement ro give us big hopes. If the lower order does it consistently then maybe we can begin expecting.

lets enjoy what we have at the moment , ita still going to be a big defeat. Lets leave it for later.

At this point, I am not sure if Kiwis would have enforced the follow-on, because bowlers have bowled almost 100 overs but still saving it on own right will be an excellent effort.

Just a reminder that club player Shadab Khan bats ahead of Faheem in ODIs and T20Is.

It really does

This is foolish - now, Shaheen might get out. He did his job - that single of last ball tells about lack of match awareness. OK< he got another single - good job then.

It really does

Nobody said he is the next Stokes. Just appreciate a good performance.

This is the same guy that people said he is not even a cricketer.

He has gotten better as a player with experience. Posters on here do overreact though.

Right now Abdullah Shafique and Naseem Shah are getting a lot of hate. But if Pakistan persist with them, they can turn it around and become good players.

He does it again. He is showing way too much faith in Shaheen.

Well played - this innings might save the Test. Now, Kiwis will have to bat for 50 overs at least.

Follow on avoided a chase of 350-400 is likely after tea tomorrow.

Surviving 4 sessions or so in 4th innings in NZ would be a tough ask. Top order will have to come out with better intent.

Rana U legend. U've ensured this test will go to day 5. For a minnow side like ours its quite an achievement
