He is good enough for this minnow team. He is not fighting for a place in India or England, and neither is keeping world beaters out of the team.

With or without Imam, we are a deeply mediocre team.

Only 2 batsman in the team deserve to be in the team right now.
 
Masood is a selfless guy. Throwing himself at the wolves, not exposing Azhar Ali to Steyn and Philly.
 
Masood and abid Ali... Both played wonderfully in A team... Yet only shaan selected and not Abid... Can I ask Why??

Yea, averages 27 after this innings. Didn't his Uncle say before the start of this tour that he might be dropped if he doesn't perform in this series?
 
And more so when selectors thought to promote Hafeez for SA tour... And he cheated everybody including himselg

One of them has played for Pakistan before, is the fittest cricketer in Pakistan, has scored a brilliant Test 100 before and is younger than 30.

The other is a 34 year old uncle who looks 38 and needs to do what he's doing at a consistent basis before being selected.

Doubt it we don’t play another test series for a while (8 months i think) and Inzi will likely forget everything by then.

Imam has a 100?
 
Not enough credit is given to how competitive Pakistan have been this series. When India toured they were 7 down for 80 in 4 consecutive innings, not in a match winning position whatsoever when the series was alive. Pakistan were 100/1 with a lead to set a mammoth 4th innings total. Yet we are told that series was competitive. I honestly don't get the negative attitude of Pakistan fans, if I was the admin I would actually ban them for the remainder of the series.
 
You can sense that Shan has gained the respect of the SA players and they consider him the prized wicket. There's a spring in their step whenever he's at the crease as opposed to when it's Azhar or Imam with whom you get a sense of inevitability.

No, he is not good enough. Our batting is bad, but not this bad. We still have people who are doing better than this in domestics. Yes, they aren't the best and chances are they may turn out to be failures internationally, but alm they really have to do is average over 28. I'm sure we can find someone, if we try.

And yes, those who have played 50+ Tests should be dropped as well.

Imam, Shafiq, Sarfraz out; Saad, Haris/Usman/Saud (Haris if fit), Rizwan in. Open with Shan and Azhar.

The complaints are about Pakistanis getting deflated after short bursts of good performances.
 
Watching Shan bat here makes me think the could have avoided series loss to NZ picking him over Hafeez or Imam
 
Enough talk of Shan and his solid technique, needs to get in and score a ton for his country. Natural replacement for Sarfaraz.
 
I REALLY hope Shan is selected for the ODIs. I have a feeling he'll do even better in that format. I don't care who we drop for him.
 
I reckon imam is gonna go the Masood way. Will be back in a couple of years looking a top batter.
I trust Mickey and Mickey always liked Shan as well even when the rest of you guys were laughing at him in 2016.
Oh and on a side not is anybody gonna give inzi any credit for bringing Shan back even though he has been performing in the other format?

Imams todays dismissal shows how poor he is , could have played with a straight bat but ended up playing a nothinh shot.

I dont know how will inzamam justify his place in the side now.

Keep India out of this and quit lying.

None of the bolded part is true. We weren't 7 down for 80 in 4 consecutive innings. In 2nd test 1st innings we were 6/280 before Ashwin fell.

4th innings target was 208 in 1st test and at 30/0 we were in the game.

2nd test we almost matched SA 1st innings score and then in the 3rd innings our bad catching let us down.
 
Fly in Abid Ali for Imam ul Haq. And tell him he is going to get extended run in tests and wouldn't be dropped based on the performance of this test. He surely cannot do worse than Imam. India did that with Mayank and the move payed dividends.
