Pakistan comprehensively defeat South Africa by eight wickets to set up series decider at Cape Town

Our top 4 is shaping up very nicely. It’s the middle order that is the problem.

Hafeez is doing fine though.

Our keeper batsman position has been a problem but with Rizwan even it sorts itself out.

Previous generations surely?

No, last one was as near as 26th SEP 2018. Do you understand for few of you, Mamoon has to try his hardest to be bitter and pessimist?

That’s why I said top 4 Hafeez at 4, but then after that 5,6,7 hasn’t been great. Imad looked good for 6 the other day though.

Pakistan with an all round performance that was simply a class above South africa’s.

I suppose the best for Malik to justify his place is as captain always bat second, dismiss opposition under 200 so he doesn’t have to bat

I want to see Saud Shakeel in at #4 after the World Cup.

Saud is an impressive talent.

We would have too many lefties if Haris is also fit, but I guess thats not an issue if all are quality.

that was a horrible team and line up that lost to bangladesh

It is absolutely ridiculous.

In the history of the game, only 4 of the top 10 highest scorers in ODIs have strikes at 80 or more, only two above 90 and only one of them has averaged anywhere above 50.

Imam is averaging over 60 with a strike rate of over 80, isnt far behind both modern or all time metrics (of the top 10 highest scorers this decade five of them have a strike rate of 80 odd), at only 23 years of age...they are acting like a player can just come in, average 60 and strike at 150.

The toxicity of online fans on this forum is horrible.

Some posters get pleasure criticising even Pak good performances.

BTW after the World Cup the age of 5 match ODI series seems to be over.

The next 5 match ODI series we have will be against England in Oct 2022 according to the FTP.

Haris is great but way too injury prone. I don't see him lasting until 2023. Saud is a long term investment.

i feel like saud is a direct replacement for haris.

can't rely on haris

Today, the game is won by bowlers, I was confident that below 300 is covered at J'burg and probably SAF also knew that, hence they over pressed, otherwise a calculative side like SAF would have settled for 245/9 & catch PAK on panic. Difficult to judge MoM, probably UKS; but Shaheen broke SAF's spine - this team won't do much without Kock & Hendricks firing.

Sorry I missed that. Yes but with Rizwan this lineup looks a lot stronger. Malik is obviously is in the twilight of his career but he really impressed me with his captaincy.

Rizwan has a lot of talent but was finding it difficult to find his feet at this level, a bit like Sharjeel when he debuted or for that matter many other players. I am pretty sure after so many A tours Rizwan is much improved.

I hope those posters who were doubting now understand that no way were SA going to chase 317 agaist Pak especially with 2 down.,had it not rained.

come on imam get your 50 and remain not out to inflate your average and p!ss your haters off

If shan is comfortable batting in the middle then its fine otherwise we can groom Saif Badar who shows a lot of promise but is yet to consistently perform in domestics.

I saw a interview on cricinfo of Imam talking about wanting to change the mentality for Pakistan when it comes to chasing. He does seem like an intelligent person , if he can improve his strike rotation I think he can have a decent LO career. In tests he will get better.

Yeah he needs to bat does Rizwan before we can make any calls on him though.

Agha Salman also is good.Liked him when played for Lahore in PSL

Instead of scorecard, I try to find domination from MoM - it's bowler or batsman. The best example of domination is if Bowler wins MoM in a chase (bowling first) or batsman winning MoM in defending a total (batting first). That means, the game was won after 1st innings - wickets/balls are just numbers for stats. Today is such a game, but the previous 3 were not.

Look at the different in class of Shadab and Tahir. Shadab is a good talent

I know but overall throughout the series the commentary has been so biased it’s just annyoing at this point.

Well, for me it’s been a lot more neutral than past tours. They have had at least 3 guys in the com box who are neutral (nicholas, holding, and kp somewhat)
The past tours were way more biased: haysman, wessels, jackman

Glad that he knew the issues and said that. He has a good and strong head on his shoulders.

A certain type of ‘education’ matters. At the very least you can read and listen what the rest of the world is doing in cricket

Assuming pakistan go onto win - Mark Nicholas
Come on Mark

He also said it’s staggering to see how many things South Africa have gotten wrong today...
You will find bias where you look for it

Over on twitter, a prominent Pakistani ‘journalist’ is reading us that Pakistan’s captain today, threw a game purposely as captain in domestic cricket in pakistan

Nation trade finding negatives even when we are doing well. These idiots would not let is rejoice even for a moment.

one of the reasons why the country is in the shape that it's in.

when something goes right even then they focus on the negatives, or rather try to find the negatives even when there aren't any visible.

They want Sarfaraz to remain captain. Some people can never stop thinking small.
