Seems like a typical brain dead Misbah decision.
The pitch is seaming about and he plays two spinner, I would have partly understood had he played two different type of spinners, instead he played a has-been and a never-will-be both leggies. Alhumdulilah Misbah ke liyay ikhees toppon ki salami. This guy will again take us to rock bottom in the rankings.

“Ideally you always want different bowlers; If you have a leggie then other should be a finger spinner but sometimes taking into account availability of players and team combination, you have to pick and choose; Shadab has an all-round ability which includes his batting ability; Shadab’s googly is better when the ball breaks on the rough against right-handers and he can be handy in such situations, especially in the 3rd and 4th innings; Yasir is a wicket to wicket type bowler, he is able to bowl to left-handers using rough; Sometimes when there is no help from the wicket then Shadab has a role there; Similarly for left handers, his googly is effective; So the fifth bowlers role where you need an attacking option, is where Shadab is useful and also batting is an advantage, where he had a crucial partnership”

What was the point of selecting Shadab Khan?
I mean wasn't the whole point to have two leg-spinners bowling in tandem?
In the first innings he only bowled 3.3 overs whereas all the other bowlers bowled more than 10.
Right now in the second innings the rest of the bowlers have bowled multiple overs and Shadab is just bowling his 2nd?

Shadab is a bowler first, his batting is developing but it's still too early to rely on him.

Fawad Alam could have been the difference maker in that 2nd innings when the team was collapsing and maybe getting a few more runs on the board.
Pakistan also basically just have one left handed batsmen in their entire lineup (and tailender Shaheen).
This is why you don't play allrounders in Tests unless they are legitemately good and can win matches with either the bat or bowl. A little bit of this and a little of that simply isn't good enough in Test. Test is a game of specialists.

Well this is it , unless Shadab’s bowling was expected to win you the match And he’s only been given a couple of overs or so in any case - how on earth does he get selected ahead of Fawad Alam as a batting all rounder ?
You could even argue Yasir Shah is almost as good a batsman as Shadab.

As Bumble just said on air, you just have to wait for Shadab’s bad balls as a batsman as he gives you at least a couple of long hops an over.

The forth bowler had to be a pacer
Shadab has had a reasonable game - but Test matches aren't won with bits and pieces cricketers. You needs specialists who can either dig in with the bat, or build pressure over long, high quality bowling spells.
If all you needed was 4-6 overs an innings from the fifth bowler, than Fawad or Shan could have done that.

This is it , in test matches you have to be good enough to get into the team as either a specialist batsman or bowler first , then your all rounder credentials add value. Bits and pieces all founders who can at best chip in with 25 runs and take 2 wicket haul once in a while are not offering you any value over a specialist.

A very poor decision. If 2nd spinner is not good enough to bowl on last inning on turning pitch then don't play 2nd spinner. If he is good enough then let him bowl.
