Pakistan Cup 2016 : Punjab crumble down to 160 (36.1 ov) as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa win the title

It'll be a cliff hanger, but I back Punjab to chase it on this wicket, under light (dew)

Shan Masood, Salman Butt, Shoaib Malik*, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Rizwan†, Amad Butt, Saif Badar, Aamer Yamin, Kashif Bhatti, Zulfiqar Babar, Ehsan Adil - that's the best batting line-up of this tournament.

Might be wrong, but, I feel today Butt-Shafiq will for a big partnership - if he doesn't get out early, both Butt & Shafiq can enjoy batting on this track.
 
Punjab all the way, can't stand that selfish Shehzad posting selfis even with a domestic cup, and between crowd is amazing, but who is this malang type singer, seeing him first time, this full house crowd deserve better may be ali zafar if not atif or rahat.

Butt gone, probably with his chance to play in UAE against WI.
 
Good to see Yamin sent at 3 again. Lets see if Shafiq can score big under pressure in ODIs. [MENTION=132916]Junaids[/MENTION] even the commies saying that Butt deserves to be in the Eng squad on merit.
 
This is a good pitch. I want Yamin to get a ton here and Rizwan to do well too so he replaces Sarfraz
 
So as far openers are concerned, we found two new openers in this tournament that can make an impact.
Fakhar and Sami. Also other openers are Shehzad and Khurram Manzoor that performed well as well but Shehzad and Fakhar were consistent throughout the tournament.
 
Yaamen and Shan Masood, they can do a good partnership here. And Yaamen can be more dangerous, need to get him out asap.

Why are you supporting an individual team lol. Its not like KPK has many people from KPK anyway. Also Punjab team has many more players who will benefit Pakistan in the future. KPK is full of ttfs while Punjab has likes of Yamin, Amad, Rizwan, Ehsan.
 
Bismillah apart from being a rubbish batsman is so annoying behind the stumps. Same repetitive phrases in the same monotonous tone. So damn annoying

This will be a tough character test for Yamin. I hope he succeeds today and wins it for Punjab. Will be very difficult for him.

Remember all the Indians laughing at me three months ago when I wrote that Zia-up-Haq is better than any current Indian, Bangladeshi or Sri Lankan fast bowler?

Oh well. I just don't want Pakistan to be 10-3 in every innings of the upcoming 10 Tests outside Asia. Salman Butt seems like the least bad option.

But when you tie your colours to the mast like I have, you risk your much vaunted great new hope falling flat on his face. Like Salman Butt today! I deserve to be teased....
 
Shaan is much better bat than his stats - plays proper shots, but might struggle against bounce.
 
Yameen is terrible against new ball, I was hoping for better show [emoji37][emoji37][emoji37]

Shan Masood is strange. He always plays a decent knock whenever he is on the verge of being dropped. I would select him for the Test series in England. If he fails then he should be dropped.

Btw did you say that about zia seriously? I like zia , i think he has the most natural action i have seen but lacks the ability to bowl 6 good deliveries in an over.

Haha no, am not teasing you tbh, because you are among those posters who i respect THE most :) Just a friendly banter, don't take any thing serious.

And as per Salman Butt, as i said before let him play a complete season and in all tournaments, he can become good. But if we see current scenario, other players seems better than him who deserves selection for upcoming tours.

And regarding Zia, always a bowler who doesn't look lethal, but he performs good.

Zia ul Haq is proving to be a good bowler. He bowled well throughout the tournament.

I am still laughing - what are you trying to prove? Butt was out because Zia is better than Mustafiz, Shami or Malinga?

Even if I consider Butt better than Garry Sobers, which makes Zia better than Truman & Lindwall then.

That's all good! I just am not really convinced of Hafeez's credentials to open outside Asia, or even of Azhar Ali's credentials to bat at number 3.

I don't think that performances in the UAE bear any resemblance to the reality of batting in England or Australia. And I remember Trent Boult winning a Test against you in the UAE!

You know me.....I only count Test potential.

Mustafizur doesn't count any more than James Faulkner, while Malinga is finished - and never was a Test bowler - while Shami is a dreadful Test bowler who just gets ODI wickets defending huge totals.

But Zia-ul-Haq has real Test potential.
 
Zia is not a new find or something
He was in news about 4-5 years ago too. And it looked like he is knocking on door for selection for National team but then disappeared as selectors didn't give him chance
Another bowler at that time was Nahaf Shah who was given few chances and then disappeared.

Najaf Shah was never a consistent bowler. Had some good games here and there. But Zia has been bowling superbly for his teams from the past few years
 
Chances for yamin to get picked for national team diminished with today's innings it seems.

Was not comparing them at all
Just said that both were in news some years back, Nahaf got few chances in ODIs but Zia never got any chance

Again, putting flawed argument to support a hoax - just admit that, it was OTT comment and that's it.

You are watching List A match & suddenly bringing Test, to justify a laughable statement. Mustafiz might end up even worse than Faulkner (who surprisingly has 6 wickets at 16 in his only Test), but in the only inning he bowled took 4 wickets & 3 of them SAF top order. As of today, Zia's FC stats is 131 wickets at 24.6 from 39 matches, on pathetically poor PAK Domestic wickets against even more pathetic batsmen. Shami won a Test on Debut for IND - let Zia play for PAK Test team first & then we can judge.
 
OK, Asad is also gone. Agains it's up to Mian Malik .....
 
PCB should select Asghar, Fakhar and Zia ul Haq for the main team.

He is playing with lots of confidence, which I can see. Probably, now he is out of his mental block - playing freely as he is almost certain that whatever, he is not going to UK.

His feet movement looked much better & played with timing against new ball, rather than over powering his shots. Batting 1st did help on this excellent batting wicket, but approach was definitely more flamboyant.
 
the only interesting thing about this match is that the crowd only supports boundaries.

It's like they don't care who is playing or not - but cheer when there are boundaries.

That's great for PAK Cricket - at least the crowd is cheering proper cricket & cheering for something cheer-able. It went to a level that PAK crowd was privileged even to smell the "air" from some chosen one .........
 
Rizwan is far better than Sarfraz in limited over cricket and fans and pcb needs to understand it.

Rizwan is much much better than sarfraz. Please replace Sarfraz in LOIs. Sarfraz cant hit boundaries against pace to save his life and his fitness is not even 1/4th of Rizwans. I hope Inzi sees this

Sarfraz is going to be ODI Captain, to struggle till 2019, when PCB can't change Captain so close to WC - after that, he might be dropped for all 3 formats, for his ODI failure; when he should be PAK Test WK for next 5/6 years & compete for LO spot with Rizwan.
 
Asghar looks so good when he flights, but that's not going to get him too many wickets on PAK FC wickets - therefore, I am afraid he is going to become another darter; a specialist breed of the dead slow & low wicket. Raza Hasan definitely has gone that way, Gohar already has lost his loop & bowling too fast, this kid going to end-up that way as well. There is a reason that top PAK domestic finger spinners are Kashif, Babar, Zoaib .....
