Akmal must bat 3. Hafeez should open with Sharjeel and Khalid should come at 6.

Easy win for Pakistan.

Remember we only bowled 5 bowlers and it seemed like Afridi treated this as a real match.

Death bowling is a concern. Sami, Irfan and Riaz are all not death bowlers. Amir alone is not enough, just imagine if Amir misses a crucial match, what will we do then?

Though Tanvir is a rubbish fielder and poor batsman I would have taken him over Anwar Ali.

I am not satisfied the way our openers played, they need to be proactive and must put some score on board so middle order can play freely.

Good confidence booster ahead of the Bangladesh match. The batsman should have some idea of the conditions too.

This will be our line apart from Malik batting at 6 then Imad and Afridi coming at 7 and 8 respectively.

One thing we learned is that Wahab shouldn't be bowling in the powerplay.

48 dot balls need to cut this down to at least 30 that would add 18 score in total. 175 is a good score with our bowling

Tell Shahzad he cant play dots and tuk tuk cricket. Must bat with mindset of T20 opener. His 20 ball in first 6 overs should aim for atleast 30 runs and not 18 off 18 ball. He might as well warm the bench and let someone else open.

World T20 Warm-Up: Mohammad Hafeez Guides Pakistan to Victory Over Sri Lanka

Mohammad Hafeez struck an unbeaten 70 off just 49 balls to help Pakistan post 157/5. Bowlers then restricted Sri Lanka for 142/9 to help them secure 15-run win at Eden Gardens.

Kolkata: Pakistan bowling came to the fore after Mohammad Hafeez's unbeaten fifty as they defeated World T20 defending champions Sri Lanka by 15 runs in their warm-up match at the Eden Gardens.

Hafeez struck an unbeaten 70 from 49 balls to help Pakistan post 157/5 before they restricted Sri Lanka for 142/9 in front of a cheering crowd of more than 10,000.

Sri Lanka were wayward with their bowling especially in the death overs and bowled eight wide balls, including five from Dushmantha Chamara, further helping Pakistan's cause.

Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi got the biggest cheer when he came to bat but he disappointed by being out first ball.

In reply, Pakistan rookie left-arm spinner Imad Wasim rattled the Lankan chase with his tidy 4/25 from four overs after the towering left-arm quickie Mohammad Irfan (2/18) gave his team a good start.

Lahiru Thirimanne (45 from 37 balls; 4x4, 2x6) and Dinesh Chandimal (30 from 21 balls; 5x4, 1x6) threatened to pull off the chase but they became two of Wasim's four victims as Lankans struggled to get partnerships going.

Wasim was also sharp with his fielding and dismissed Milinda Siriwardana with a direct throw from extra cover.

A day after Afridi and former captain Shoaib Malik praised Indian crowd, the fans reciprocated cheering every Pakistani run or dismissal.

Following their early exit in the Asia Cup, Pakistan ticked the boxes in all the three departments and produced two run outs on the field.

In the bowling, all eyes were on Mohammad Amir who started with the new ball and was tidy giving away just two runs.

With Amir having tied up the other end, Irfan produced a superb rising bouncer first ball to get rid of Dilshan to give them a perfect start.

Chandimal broke the shackles hitting Irfan to two boundaries while in the next over he went berserk in Riaz's opening over when he dissected the off side smashing a six and three successive boundaries.

But introduction of Wasim in the sixth over gave them the breakthrough when he dismissed the dangerous looking Chandimal for 30.

Chandimal mistimed one and was caught at midwicket trying to hit across the line.

This was Sri Lanka's second successive loss in the warm-up after going down to New Zealand by 74 runs in Mumbai.

Pakistan open their campaign against qualifiers Bangladesh here March 16, while the next day Sri Lanka face qualifiers Afghanistan.

Brief Scores

Pakistan 157/5; 20 overs (Mohammad Hafeez 70 not out; Thisara Perera 2/21).

Sri Lanka 142/9; 20 overs (Lahiru Thirimanne 45, Dinesh Chandimal 30; Imad Wasim 4/25, Mohammad Irfan 2/18).

So everybody performed to some degree apart from the captain himself.

Kis gunnay ki saza hai yeh Afridi? :danish

not long ago it was Hafeez who was the bane of our lives!

Will we just stop this nonsense?

A decent confidence booster for Team Pakistan. Hafeez playing well against his favourite team but don't have much hooea fro him in the big ones because you and bhaijaan both know he is a known phattu.

Moved Akmal down to 5 again to insert more rubbish up the order. Let's move our best player of pace down the order so he can face spin. You can't get dumber than Pakistan's think tank.

Minnow basher getting his share, unfortunately for him he won't be facing any minnows in the main round.

Sri Lanka should be very disappointed, 101-4 and then they lose Mathews off the final ball of the 13th over and collapse like a house of cards. Not like the RPO was impossible at that stage either.

As for Pakistan, our recent record against SL has been good and its a positive result but not sure about this batting order.

After the Asia Cup everyone could see a Sarfraz-Umar-Malik occupying the middle order spots was ideal but now Shehzad's straight back into the XI and everyone's moved one down. You need your most dynamic players up front.

Mohammad Hafeez perform in warmup match of a WC. History repeating itself. :inti

It will be good for Pakistan's future if Shehzad doesnt score a run this this tournament which he probably wont since we know how he plays good bowling at the big stage.

Wow!! Umar still batted at 5 what is the reason behind this Mr.afridi??seriously the guy thanked him in post match ceremony after srilanka match but still they are playing him at 5.I have no hopes from them

As I said, Hafeez will have a good tourney.

Disappointing to see Latif not play. Disturbing the middle-order which did well in the Asia Cup is stupid.

I missed this match so to clarify -

Afridi went for duck.

Afridi gave up 40 runs at 10/over

?!?!?!

Ya Allah how is this man the captain?

The combo looks threating dare i say.. Afridi has to fire...I think if Shehzad can shake off the LSR (low strike rate syndrome:) The fresh Shehzad we saw in New Zealand a few years ago.. Green could roar.. am dreaming now..: :>

This will give a false sense of security that is all. Like I said SL is the worst team to face in a warm up for you.

Any other team on that pitch would've chased down 157 like nothing. Halwa target.

Kindly worry about your own team plz, your new team who well choke again.

This batting order will not work against any other team. Shehzad and Hafeez don't cope with pressure too well and they will fail against sides with better bowling. Either drop Hafeez or Shehzad or play them at #6 and promote Sarfraz, Akmal and Malik up the order.

But knowing our habit, this 'winning combination' will not change. :najam

It was just a warm up match, Pakistan just used 5 bowlers. Nawaz, Shoaib, Sami and Anwar should have been tested.

I think pak have a chance put a safe 20 dollar bet on india to win the cup and then followed by a risky 20 dollar bet on pakistan but if pak manages to surprise us all and somehow do it i win 340 dollars not bad from just 20

Good performance by Imad, really hoping he comes good in the next games.

Akmal should have been promoted

Also we should play both Nawaz and Imad, kinda like what New Zealand do with Anderson and Elliot, similar allrounders yet both provide utility. Lacking a specialist spinner this would give more options bowling as well as strengthen the lower middle order with some hitting power

Start is Good ... But. the Game is Starting NOW this is big advantage for Pak Team... BEST OF LUCK...
