Im not finding faults, what im saying is if he is gonna play one good innings like shafique every series why not just play a youbg player who has been playing in domestics...
Shafique did the same thing and everyone hated him, fawad is literally having the same consistency and you guys are praising him..
Fact is this shouldve been a rebuilding phase with azhar as the sole senior player.. pakistan mamagement just wants to pat themselves on the back while making low iq moves..

Fawad can play for another 5 years. Youngsters can wait to develop in domestic for that long. So the management made a good decision.

The guy has a monstrous FC average of 57 and has scored a hundred in all of last 3 series he's played and people think he deserves to be dropped

Because a youngster will fail to adjust to higher level of international cricket and his confidence will be destroyed as well as losing Pakistan test matches even against likes of Zimbabwe.
Case in point Haider Ali and Naseem Shah, they need to be developed in domestic and if they perform better than Fawad in domestic for atleast couple years then they can have a claim to his position. Fawad returns are nothing like Shafiq. Shafiq would score significantly once in 6 to 8 innings. Fawad atleast scored 1 in 3.
Both the players you mention i never said play them. I said send an u25 team with domestic experiance...
He is not a very good batsman but every batsman need a very long run and given confidence to find their footing in international before they can fully express themself.
But there is no one better than Fawad otherwise they would be out scoring him in domestic year in year out. Why should we ay a lesser batsman, their chance will come when Fawad starts failing.
In 5 years youngsters won't end up like Fawad. Fawad had to wait 11 years to get back into Test cricket. So five years are no where close. Right now we got no cricketer that can replace the current bunch. Majority of our batsmen are a unpolished bunch that have noticeable flaws. Waiting five years will only improve the youngsters as players since they will have the right number of domestic matches.
Why do u think so? Most of his hundreds have come in difficult situations. Even on his debut in 2009 Pak were 170 runs behind after 1st innings when he scored a brilliant 169. Against NZ it was a rearguard action on last day rarely seen from Pak side. And those who think Karachi was a very easy pitch to bat on should enhance their knowledge of cricket.
Out of a pop of 220 million ur saying we only got fawad. But some how out of a pop of 2 mill nzl has made great team.
Stop, its clear case of who you know in paksiatan not about how you play.. there are def players out there who dont get picked because they dont know anyone..
If you know a batsmen that can score 100s as consistent as Fawad has feel free to name them. Maybe it will help our selectors find that right batsmen.

Definitely, Instead of focusing on Big 2 ( excluded India) Pakistan needs to arrange couple of series annually with teams like Sri Lanka, West Indies and South Africa. All three teams are tough to beat in their home conditions.

Abid Ali is bad but better than Imran Butt for sure
Kamran ghulam avgd 60, saad nasim avg 57, saud shakeel avg 57, agha salman 58, usman salahuddin 47 etc.. any of these players shouldve been picked for this tour. Saud shakeel and kamran ghulam shouldve been a must..
There is no comparison between Shafiq and Fawad.
Shafiq played 21 Tests post-MisYou retirement and scored a whopping 2 hundreds.
Fawad has played 7 Tests post-comeback and has already scored 3 hundreds.
That's right it only took him, past his peak at age 35, a third of the matches to overhaul pretty technique Shafiq's tally of centuries !

I would have really loved to see some youngsters in this test match or even in the series. Some competitive cricket would have also motivated Zimbabwe.
It would pain me even more if likes of Saud Shakeel and Kamran Ghulam are then thrown into the XI against England in England or similar.

Fawad averaged 10 in England and mid 30s post comeback excluding Zimbabwe series.
Such middling returns by a 35 year old with 12k FC runs @ 56 will yield praise and adulation in a mediocre cricket nation like Pakistan only.

I know you love trolling but so that other naive posters are negatively influenced by you like to point out England series was a return after 11 years in an alien and overcast conditions mainly, so understandably he was nervous in the first inning a d then he fought hard in the next inning even if he did not score much. He only had opportunity to bat thrice. So very small same in a debut series. And why would you exclude any country from his overall average,and you need to include his scores pre return too. He can only score runs against the teams he plays and he has scored significantly against NZ, SA and Zimbabwe thus far.
Only a fool would think he has not made big contributions since his return.
Summed it up perfectly, couldn’t have said it better myself.

Babar really needs to spend some time with Yousuf before the WI test tour as that is not going to be an easy tour. Babar still needs to achieve his optimal level at test cricket and needs to put some work into it.
There is a reason top teams like India, Australia and England don't tour Zimbabwe. Pakistan's tours to Zimbabwe is damaging to our cricket . Aging and poorly performing players and players with poor technique , who have been a failure against better teams should have been replaced by fresh blood, but they come to Zimbabwe and score centuries and prolong their career for years , only to repeat the cycle.
I'm sure players like Azhar, Abid, Butt and coach would been kicked out by now .
If we have to play Zimbabwe, we should send with most of the young players , who would make the A team .
No sense in sending aging veterans to Zimbabwe.

He needs to be patient first and foremost to eager to get going after the bowling. Doesn’t seem like a person who likes to grind though periods. Additionally looks content with a middling score and doesn’t want to push himself.
