You expect any team to win a match after conceding 650 in 1st inns, how you exepcting pakistan to win from here?
 
Pakistan need to aim to bat 3 or even 4 more session atleast here.
 
Good fightback by Pakistan but such pitches make for very poor contest. Not fair for the spectators, not fair for the visiting team, not fair for the bowlers of both teams ..only those who would otherwise struggle to bat on decent pitches would be happier to stat pad here.

Bobby has 11000 international runs at the age of 28

If he plays Test/ODI until 40 I recon he can get 20-25k International runs

England bowlers haven’t bowled too bad on this pitch

They have been the better team in the contest for sure

rizwan needs to play a decent knock here and not usual nice 20 or 30.
 
Pakistan still a mammoth 240 runs away from the England score. Still a lot to do to save this Test. Considering England's Bazball approach, they could get 200-250 runs in little over a session and still have enough overs to put Pakistan under pressure in the final session .
 
This is going to be a GOAT partnership babar and rizwan.... playing the format that's best suited for them both

Had a quiet series v South Africa as well.

Good to see that England can put up some decent scores as a team without total reliance on Root.
 
Pakistan salvaging out a draw would be an achievement after the beating they took on Day 1, still alot of time left in the game
 
Got about 10-12 overs till the light fades here. Need to push for 490 odd

First false shot from Babar, one mistake and you’re out. Goes to show just how hard it is to concentrate in Test cricket for long periods even amongst the very top players.

Pathetic by Rizwan. His type of pitch and he gets out for nothing.

Him and Saud really screwed it up. This type of bowling deserves to go for 500-600 just as much as ours on this pitch.

Edit: also Azhar. he’s a walking wicket these days.
 
3 wickets for England since Tea, 6 in the day. Not bad going. Another wicket this session before the Close would be really good, and to be honest anything more than that would represent a solid piece of resilience and a fantastic team effort.
 
A 80-100 run lead in the next innings for England and boy are Pakistan in trouble
 
Pakistan need atleast another 100 runs here, plus take time out of the game.

Rizwan has been poor in this format, sarfaraz deserves to be in playing 11.If not give any young lad chance, may be Rohail Nazir.
 
Azhar Ali,saud shakeel and Salman Agha should be kicked out.
Azhar Ali has always been a poor test player and these two are not test material.

sarfraz barely averaged 30 in his last 20 tests, rohail barely averages 30 in first class and is not a reliable keeper, rizwan despite his limitations is better than both.
 
Agha is playing for his place. But good chance to stamp his authority by playing an innings of some significance.
 
Gotta get that deficit to below a 100. Doable but will take proper work now.

Can understand about sarfaraz, but Rohail does have a talent and PCB should groom him to the next level. Stats are misleading sometimes.

Brainless from Naseem. England in the box seat. Pakistan will have to bat out 3.5 sessions chasing 330 plus. Can't see Pakistan surviving.
 
A good day for England overall, to take seven wickets on this pancake.

England should go full T20 tomorrow and set a target. Maybe move Brook up to #3, to give Pontiff a rest after his two days behind the sticks.

This is a disgrace. The artificial lights have completely taken over the natural light. Just look at the shadows. There is no way that the light meter reading is better than when they went off on the first day. They should have been off half an hour ago.

I've seen him bat and keep on a few occasions playing for northern, and IMO he isnt international quality in either department yet. also i dont believe his age, so doubt he has much room for development.

pak young wicket keeping reserves are not very good.
 
Pakistan needs to bat 1 hour tomorrow
If Salman can work with tail enders & waste 1 hour in morning, that will leave England to bat post tea tomorrow to set pakistan up 370+ to win.
Pakistan can grind for draw then.
 
poor end to the day for pakistan and looks like they will end havving to bat on day 5 to save the game.
 
Salman needs to reduce the deficit as much as possible for Pakistan tomorrow.
 
Sangakkara: England are in the driving seat

Could Pakistan declare and put the pressure on England? Sangakkara thinks that is unlikely.

"If England bat a session and a half on this pitch, they could score 250 runs. Pakistan will try to bat until lunch, Salman has a big role to play, farming the strike," he said.

"Pakistan will have to get closer to England rather than declaring. If they are 100+ runs behind, England would put it well beyond Pakistan. England are in the driving seat."
