What's new

Pakistan end Day 3 on 407/9, still trailing New Zealand by 42 runs

Too close for Sarfaraz. NZ high fiving influenced the umpire because side on, the spikes appeared to be grounded.

Not unlucky...just a gift as we always do. Unfortunately that is a reality we are still 100 behind...out tail if they cant bat on this honestly should be capital punishment for them simple. We give gifts after gifts. Abdullah..Shaan. babz..saffy all saying happy new year.

Umpire looking to give him out

How is he sure his spikes are not touching the ground?

Umpiring standards have been horrible throughout the season and This call one of the worst. Clearly not out

I thught it was out until the final split screen. The final split screen made it 100% not out for me.

Pathetic way to get out, TWICE.

Well, first one he survived because of a faint edge, which even he didn't know he had edged.

The stumping shouldn't have happened. Decision is arguable, spikes could or could not have been grounded, I don't think it was conclusive.

Still a better innings than shafique babar and shan

Sarfraz could have been the difference in the first two matches against england. Always looking to score runs.

Gamesmanship by the Kiwis. Showing anger on a not out decision where clear spike was seen 2 balls ago and then high fiving before a very close decision is made.

Particularly when part of foot appeared grounded, spikes maybe touching ground or enough doubt.

I would say quite smart by them.

He sounded confused on LBW review as well. After establishing edge on snicko , he asked upmire to stay with his decision, then he was sorry on umpire mic and asked to reverse.. seems like he is not there

It did influence the decision celebrating beforehand.

I think in run out case once you make the crease you dont get out even bat /feet in air but in stumping case you have to be in ur crease at the time of bails removed.

Lol at those moaning at Sarfraz, he is a human being not a robot, he scored runs in that manner by moving around, eventually a ball will get you in trouble, and he was not even out. Brilliant knock by Sarfraz.

That was just mixing his words, can happen to anyone.

This is the last recognized pair. Hardly any batting left after this pair. Only hit and miss type tailenders remaining.

We need to get on par with NZ 1st inns score here as we will batting last on this wicket.

Besidea moaning about pitch Simon Doull should also accept that NZ bowling hasn't been good enough in this wtc cycle.

Very hard to get a good biryani ,they just put a lot of spices and colors and not enough of alu bukhara and piyaz.

Unless some drastic changes are made Pakistani pitches are and will be graveyards. SA series we had Shaheen and in form Hasan Ali and Naseem was at his fittest too.

Things need to change at domestic level , they too play on such pitches and we see that in bowling charts. PCB need to create different pitches , experiment with soil and ingredients combination. This is downright boring.

Also there is a stadium in hyderabad as well , i dont know whats the condition of that stadium but the weather is as same as of karachi. Could have played one tests there as well.

Have you been there recently? It is rotting away and in most Test playing nations would not be considered first class standard. PCB have a lot of work to do to bring grounds up to scratch.

Strategy seems to be block block block block block block block since tea. How long will we do this for?

Really sad. When zimbabwe came in 2008 they played an odi there. There were odis played in faisalabad and sheikhupura as well.

PCB need to renovate and improve condition of the stadiums , in such weather conditions you cant get enough overs in central punjab , quetta or in peshawer. Hyderabad or any other stadium in sindh should be ready to host test matches in december january.

Sahas been there for ages , should pick up scoring rate. Only 2 runs in last 27 deliveries.

The plan seems to be to bat big and just once, like NZ played in the first Test and want to avoid batting last on this surface.

Shaqeel always goes into a shell whenever a wicket falls at the other end

I fail to understand what their motive is by playing this way. Not eroding the lead especially when still have 100 run deficit. Strange

What on earth are these midget mentality players doing on this benign wicket. Absolute sitter dropped by Latham if this is not a wake up call i dont know what is. Never ever understand Pak cricket seriously.

Buss Alhamdolillah bolo when it comes to Pakistan batting!

The plan is to bat tomorrow till tea and get a lead of at least 150-175. Then hopefully the pitch might turn on the last day and the spinners will clean up the Kiwis easily.

We will get this kind of lead at tea on day 5.

The pitch did suddenly turned after tea on the first day...then became flat. Was it pitch doctoring? Just kidding!

Trailing by 86 right now. By end of the day , the trail would be around 50 runs hopefully.

Bat two sessions tomorrow and score 100 runs each. Lead 150 with 4 Sessions to go at NZ. That way Pakistan also avoids the chance to bat last on this pitch and chase a sufficient target.

This looks to be the plan.

Around 20 overs to go , should get at least 50 more.

NZ very nearly pulled off a victory with the same approach in the last Test ( Denied Victory due to that innings by Md Wasim and lower order), so this approach can work.

I have a feeling we will win this game on day 5. Hopefully by 10 wickets.
