Pakistan fightback to restrict Australia to 187/6 at Stumps on Day 3 of the 2nd Test

Get spin for a few overs and see. Lyon was getting turn.
 
Australia will get at least 300 runs lead.
Even if one of them gets out now, they'll atleast get 250.

Hard to see how Pakistan will be able to restrict Australia below 250 at this point. Abdullah has completely dropped the match.

This match is already done anything over 160 plus is a winnable target

The second coming of babar azam, technically most sound pak batsman blah blah has dropped a sitter again... It has become a regulation for this retarded player.. Pak can never win a match if you keep selecting player like him.

Man - no one comes close to kamran akmal for drops. He was a legendary dropper. Still boggles the mind that he played so long for pak. Dropped a catch almost every single match he played
 
At least still a decent pitch to bat on for our batsmen… let’s see if they put it to use.

250-300 is chaseable here.

This is a minority opinion. No one thinks w & w are better than Rameez. The vast majority agree Rameez is way better. The cringe from w & a and their terrible English make ears bleed. Rameez anyday by a mile..
You don't need to be a great cricketer to be a great commentator.
 
Pakistan is giving up too quickly. Still a winnable game here. Just need to bowl and field well after tea.

Don't allow easy runs. Too many easy runs so far.

I really enjoyed Rameez's commentary, he speaks well with a little sprinkle of humor, one of my favourite commies of all time.

But

Waqar, I just want to throw up, when I listen to him.....
 
Why the hell Shan hasn't had square leg up in the circle for Smith! He has hardly tried to be expansive. He has scored almost all his runs through vacant square leg region.


Poor captaincy session from him when he needed to be at his best.

I) Didn't keep short leg for Smith first up knowing that the left armers are swinging it in. Smith inside edged his first or second delivery off Hamza but there was no short leg.

II) Kept Abdullah in slips when everyone could see that he is terrible at catching there.

III) And field positioning in general for Smith has been terrible.
 
Pak team looks totally deflated here . Dont see a way where they can bounce back

I think it’s over now for Pakistan. Australia looks set to score 250 here. That means Pakistan has to chase close to 300. Not happening.

The first 10 overs after tea will be the deciding factor. Need to make sure to keep it very tight and don't make it easy for Aus.

Ball is not always going to swing that much so just bowl in channel and forget the drop catch. Drop catch happens for many teams. What's done is done. Marsh gives plenty of chances and their keeper is not some gun batsman. Smith is not old Smith.

Pakistan is still in the game.
 
It's over now. We had Marsh at our mercy. Now we dropped him. Finished now. This aussie side isn't even that good. Somehow we make them look like 2003 Australia. Hazlewood and starc are mostly mediocre outside Australia

Why Abdullah Shafique is still fielding at slips? It's clear that he is at least in no confidence. The management and captain is hurting Pakistan by keeping him in slips

Yes match is on edge right now .next 10-15 over will decide where is game heading. Pakistan just need a opening and others will falls .
 
Our Desi fielding coach is doing a great job to improve our fielding. Only 2-3 drop catches/match. He needs an increase.

Feels heartbreaking, I think we actually had this test in the bag had we got marsh out. I didn’t expect us to take 4 down for next to nothing early on that was incredible.
 
Man, just pause and think about the scoreline earlier 16 for 4. Pakistan was completely on top. You can sense that the players were thinking about the unthinkable - fans must have been genuinely expecting to see one of Pakistan's greatest cricketing fightbacks. And then that dropped catch.

All the above for Pakistan might still happen. Match is still not out of hands - just have to keep the belief and take their chances.

But if somehow Pakistan manage to lose this - it will leave a such a deep and painful gash in the Pakistani psyche that the recovery might take ages.
 
any target of 250 or more & Australia will be very confident of making it 2-0 .

200 gives some chance to Pakistan. 300 makes it unlikely.

They want to break Guinness world record of dropped catches by 1 guy.

Shan needs to drop the nice guy captain act and say to hell with your feelings and throw him to deep point or third man.

But i think y’all are being too pessimistic with the target. There’s no demons in the pitch.

250-270 is doable. If we can’t even chase that then we don’t deserve to play tests

Chasing up to 250 only one batter need to score big other can chip around. One partnership can win the game
 
1-2 quick wickets here gives control back to Pak. Important phase of the game. Otherwise Aus would be blazing away.
 
What Aus need to do now is try and get a 300 run lead by stumps. Then come back tomorrow all funs blazing and get to a 480 run lead.
 
Pakistani pacers are pretty bad in bowling well directed bouncers otherwise they should bowl a few to Smith and then have him drive.

175 ahead , btw bouncers at 130 kmph are hardly life threatening .
 
150 is more than enough to beat this parchi side. Both Imam, Salman and Babar are walking wicket, Shafiq will not successful 2nd time in a row so as Masood. Saud may score quick 20-30 at best.

Not just about the pace, when they bowl it's too short and going over head and some time even over keeper.

Yes, pace will make it better, but no good bouncer means batsmen are not worried and playing in front foot whenever they want.
