Looks like 500 runs pitch!!! May God save us from big innings defeat
Obviously, a different pitch from Dubai. There is a lot more for spinners here than the Dubai pitch. The score is decent, remember Australia has to bat last here.
Too many wrist slitters on the forum, do not back their team.
If we get Khawaja early we're back in the game
Great Day for PAK, led by the Captain, from 57-5.
Now Sarfraz needs to keep attacking. I have seen too many times AUS starts to counter attack when in trouble and fielding side often goes to defensive after few blows, and AUS's bottom half runs away with the game - best example was that Hobart Test, when AUS was 120-5, chasing 365 & scored last 250 at almost 5/over. It's a 18 wicket game for PAK now.
Pretty much all those counter attacks come in their home ground. I am not sure if they can do the same on turning tracks.
well well well..karachi 2006?? can it happen again..??
Abbas has to transform into Asif
This is a better wicket expecting 4th day finish here
Playing Fakhar is the right strategy. Pakistan needs quality batsmen wherever they can find them. It is not as if there are many waiting in the wings.
I think, they try everywhere but obviously with little success outside home. Here, Sarfraz needs to be ahead of the game and believe that PAK is in driving seat - at worse even a 50 runs lead doesn't put AUS ahead, because they'll bat last. PAK has come back from 57-5 on Day 1, must keep that good feeling flowing when AUS is batting - a target of 225 should be enough on Day 4/5 here.
Not true. Dubai wicket was wierd, where it was truly good to bat on even the fifth day. Paine and Lyon are not good enough batsmen to survive Yasir on a fifth day wicket in the UAE.UAE pitches offer more turn on Day 1, 2,3 in comparison to Day 4,5 whereas in other countries it is the opposite. Pakistan has to attack immediately and not take their foot off the peddle and repeat the mistakes of the previous game.
It's not easy to back consistent non-performers like Hafeez, Shafiq and Sohail.
Only one international hundred and that too on one of the flattest pitches in the world. With due respect to Haris Sohail, he needs to do more than that to be called consistent.Sohail is pretty consistent.
