I don't get it. Didn't Pakistan do the exact same thing with the Taliban for years before and even during the War on Terror?

Where was the condemnation of these religious zealots and their terrorism back then ?

It was always "Their country , their rules " thrown at those who criticised them

Afghanistan is on Pakistan's border so why would they want a war situation given the huge drain on resources this will incur?

What reason does India have to get in bed with them?

Not escaped me. It's a mini battle - 2/3 of the most rabid Indian posters and couple of the most pro-Pakistan army folks battling it out with @Bhaijaan s***stirring as usual. Just a typical Friday evening on PakPassion.

Of course I'm partly trolling but it does feel like a low enthusiasm war and most Pakistani posters seem more keen on making fun of Indians than appreciating their Airforce's victories. Very few Zindabad...Paindabads!

Enemy of our enemy stuff I suppose.

China's in bed with Pakistan though it obviously despises everything Pakistan stands for - a corrupt, non-technocrat driven, religion based country. I'm sure they see the economic opportunity but it's not going to yield the big bucks anytime soon so there's got to be other reasons.

So India's reason for rejoicing would simply be hatred of Pakistan. But Pakistanis (even the most dense of them) would understand that the country can't afford more drain on it's resources. I guess that is why there would be muted support for any conflict. This also goes for conflict with India by the way.

They were mad about Pahalgam because to them Pakistan didn’t take care of the terrorist issue. (Assuming they were from Pakistan)

Now that Pakistan is going after the terrorist nest from which they creep into rest of South Asia for decades atp, now Indians are crying?

Always need a reason to cry our saffron choozay, then another Pahalgam or 26/11 will happen then you’ll cry again wishing Pakistan took action like this to erase the issue.

Look I cannot speak for others. I condemned the Afghan Taliban well before their takeover for two reasons.

Their medieval version of Islam is an outlier even amongst conservative Muslim nations. Women are by an order of magnitude freer in Iranian and Pakistani society compared to Afghanistan where they're lower than vermin in the food chain. Secondly, I feared their victory would inspire their lunatic brethren in Pakistan to mount a similar takeover.

You'll also find many posters here blast our generals for turning Pakistan into soil for Taliban footsoldiers, and for enabling the heroin and arms smuggling trade to grow to industrial scales, in the pursuit of a "strategic depth" that's literally exploded in their faces.

That said we cannot turn the clock back 40 years. All we can ask is for our generals to clean up the mess they contributed to and send these Talibs to hell.
 
Taliban support for TTP and Terrorism inside Pakistan must STOP and until that happens it is perfectly justified to retaliate inside Afghanistan.

Having said, people of Afghanistan are Muslims and it is crass, dumb, stupid and childish to make memes and make racist remarks about "Naan Lagaa" and everything else.

Pakistan has a Security issue and compelled to act so lets act, remove the threat and no reason to make millions of people who are Muslims, enemies for generations.

If Afghans are ignorant and badly behaved, let it be on their head, people of Pakistan are far more mature and should act like it.

Any sane person knows that there is a 2600 KM border and it is not in the interest of Pakistan to have a hot western border with Afghanistan because it diverts money, resources and firepower from Eastern border with India.

The moment Pak launches ground invasion which they don't have the guts to do.mrightfully...pak will be balkanized. What will happen is that your cities will soon explode and Afghanistan will remain as it is.

Netanyahu confirmed current Taliban leadership is under their control with Pakistan regime also fully compromised.

USA left $80 billion of military hardware for this reason . It took them a while to remove Imran khan , the only leader who can unite all of Pakistan , also having huge influence in Afghanistan. Once Taliban sold out , it’s time for a war between both . Anyone on either side supporting this conflict on nationalistic or ethnic lines are also puppets , just not getting paid and delusional.

That was an AI generated clip. Netanyahu is a war criminal who I'd happily hand down a death sentence if he was in my court, but let's not give him credit for every crime in the world.

Afghan Taliban's latest master to serve is the BJP Govt of India which perhaps isn't a surprise since these are two fanatical right-wing parties who abuse religion for power. I don't think Romeo and Juliet looked at each other like the Taliban FM's Muttaqi looked at his counterpart Jaishankar last October.

I have heard that Netanyahu want's to fight what he calls 'Extreme sunnis, and Shias', the former could be Taliban, whereas the latter must be referring to Iran.

Also read that USA want Bagram Air Base back, and with Pakistan punishing the Talibans, this could be sorted out soon. And Trump will probably attack Iran any time. So Netanyahu is probably pleased with how things are unfolding no?
