Developments have been swift in the last 24 hours with regards to the political and military situation.

If the situation stays tense like this, the Pakistan leg may be in danger.

Yeah, don't think it is safe at all to host it there now. Who knows what's going to happen in the following days and weeks...

Highly doubt the players would be willing to tour in these circumstances. This year’s PSL has been jeopardized in my opinion.

Not surprising, the parosi's showing their true colors.

Worrying times.

The overseas players must be looking at what's happening with a lot of concern.

Well with PSL, the only benefits are young talent, who mostly have not gotten opportunities; And bringing cricket back to Pakistan which obviously...

But there's no use of the joke of the tournament that is currently occuring, and cancelling the it could help players get some well needed rest.

How? i think it is the ebst thing happened to pak cricket.

What could happen? India isn't going to bomb Gaddafi/National Stadium. Especially considering the fact there will be foreign players.

No way will the foreign players come to Pakistan in this situation, in fact I expect a mass exodus of foreigners in India as well.

Cricket should be the last thing on our minds.

It is all India’s fault, they can never see us happy. Inshallah all the foreign players will come as confirmed to Pakistan.

I think Pakistan shouldn't take risk to bring PSL in Pakistan at this period of time. In this hostile environment neither players would do their best nor we will enjoy. All the matches should be played in UAE.

In my opinion, after today's event, games won't happen in Pakistan.

If they do happen, it will be without foreign players.

Things will settle down in a week or so, especially after Pakistan's show of strength today.

Some foreigners would surely come, and even if it is all locals, matches should go ahead.

Staging the matches in the country will give a strong message to the terrorists across the border that we'll not be defeated.

It will not make any difference as our wise franchises coaches decided not to give opportunities to promising young batsmen like Saud Shakil, N Nawaz or Bowler like Hasnain etc They are happy to keep playing 1 emerging player in the team even though they are performing better than some of our senior players and deserve to be played as automatic choice so 2nd emerging batsman can replace player like Kamran or some foreign batsman.

Can anyone please confirm me "Are franchises allowed to play more than 1 emerging players in the playing 11?"

Yes it will most likely won't happen. And PSL will be the last thing I care in these circumstances

The Pakistan leg should go ahead and any player already signed to it should have all their match fees removed if they say no.

As for the military situation, Pakistan should have responded already.

Yes, you can play more than 1 emerging player.

Will PSL last leg be held in Pakistan.

Considering that Airspace is suspended in Pakistan for 5 days. And the tension at the border and how serious its getting day by day. Will it be wise to play.

If a truce is called in time then keep this year's PSL in UAE, otherwise it will be ok I reckon.

In my estimation next 24 hours are important if there is no response from india side we are good to go.

If not than talk to pak government and host last leg in uae

Agreed lets hope it does not escalate into a full blown war!

Should the PSL Pakistan games be played in Dubai in light of the current political situation?

Cross border tensions are very high at the moment, with the threat of war looming.

Should the Pakistan leg of the PSL be moved to UAE? Foreign players may not be keen to play in Pakistan in light of the current situation.

If it calms down by the time the Pakistan leg begins, then there should be no problem.

How many days do we have till the first game in Pakistan?

Cricket should be the last thing on anyone's mind in the worst case scenario. No way will the Pakistani players be in the right frame of mind to play in the middle of a war

No cricket will be played anywhere if there is an actual war.

Most people are talking about what would happen if the current situation is still happening by the time the Pakistan leg happens.

Cricket Ireland monitoring India-Pakistan tensions ahead of Afghanistan ODI series

Cricket Ireland says it is monitoring the security situation between India and Pakistan in advance of their ODI series against Afghanistan.

The Irish squad is based in the Indian province of Dehradun, not far from Kashmir which has seen an increase in tensions between the two countries.

Cricket Ireland say it will comply with official advice to ensure the safety of their players and the team management.

Ireland's opening ODI against Afghanistan takes place on Thursday.

In a statement, Cricket Ireland said it is: "actively monitoring the current security situation between India and Pakistan.

"Management is liaising with the squad, and engaging with the Afghanistan Cricket Board, ICC, Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

"Preparations are currently continuing in advance of the upcoming ODI series, however Cricket Ireland will comply with any official advice over coming days in order to ensure the safety and security of players and team management."

As they continue preparations for the opening match of the five-game ODI series, all-rounder Stuart Thompson has been added to Ireland's one-day squad.

The 27-year-old is already in India, having been named in Ireland's T20 and Test squads but will also provide cover for the one-day panel.

Opener William Porterfield, who has stepped down from the role as T20 captain to concentrate on leading the team in the ODI and Test formats, is one of the players who is expected to come into contention for the series opener on Thursday following a 3-0 defeat by Afghanistan in their T20 series last week.

"There's a few of us coming into the squad, five of us who have been here for a week and that helps freshen things up from that side," said Porterfield.

"Afghanistan are a tough team in T20 cricket, but we're together and fresh for the one-day series and looking forward to it.

"Over the last few matches we played some good cricket at various stages in the game - Afghanistan are a strong T20 side and there were a couple of good match-winning performances from a couple of their lads, which is what it's about in T20 cricket.

"If an individual comes off like that it can be hard to stop the momentum, but our lads had some good performances, and it was good to sit down and chat with Fordie [Head Coach Graham Ford] from the sidelines."

The opening ODI on Thursday is due to start at 07:30 GMT.

Honestly would suck to see this series be cancelled. I hope everything goes well between Pakistan and India. War is stupid, it should never happen.

You are making lots of people happy across the border with your ridiculous suggestion of cancelling the " joke of the tournament " PSL, what is our wish list , I would like to know. Should worry about your IPL, coming soon.

Pakistani civilian airspace completely shut for the second straight day. Won’t the production guys need to move equipment/personnel to Karachi & Lahore from UAE atleast 4-5 days in advance? The window to host PSL’s final leg in Pakistan will shut if situation at the border doesn’t cool down & normalcy restored in the next 48 hours.

Will be bad optics for Pakistan. With the Australian tour of India carrying on as scheduled, it only reinforces the point that conflict is prohibitively expensive for Pakistan.

The closed airspace also has a economic impact on India tourism also.

Let's not be simplistic about it. There is also an issue of diverted airline routes which cost money.

Everything will settle down tommorow, as the pilot will be returned. Things should move on from there, hopefully everything returns to status quo in 2-4 days.
