Imam-up-Haq, Fakhar Zaman and Salman Butt still have one innings left each, but here is how the overall records look, with a minimum of four matches played..

Salman Butt 636 runs @ 42.40 (3 centuries/2 fifties)
Fakhar Zaman 493 runs @ 41.08 (1/3)
Khurram Manzoor 557 runs @ 39.78 (1/3)
Imam-ul-Haq 648 runs @ 38.11 (2/3)
Shan Masood 436 runs @ 36.33 (1/1)
Nasir Jamshed 200 runs @ 25.00 (0/1)
Mohammad Hafeez 352 runs @ 22.80 (0/3)
Jaahid Ali 179 runs @ 22.37 (0/1)

Please note that for majority of the season the top 25 players were not playing hence the scores can't be taken at face value. The batsmen playing are scoring against inferior bowlers who don't make list of 25 top players in the counter.

Also the top openers of the country are not even in the tournament as they were either with Pakistan or in the BPL

It would be nice to see number of completed matches as well.

That doesn't make any sense at all.

These eight batsmen played against the same opposition in the same month on the same pitches.

A direct comparison is eminently reasonable.

And proves what we already knew: Salman Butt is almost as good as Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed combined.

And both are out of the test side so it doesn't matter

Also Jamshed and Hafeez missed matches

Ahsan Ali 422 runs @46.89 (2 centuries including a double century)

He has 3 Fc hundreds and 2 of them are double hundreds.

Hamza Ghanchi 700 runs @38.89 (1 century 2 fifties)

Century was his debut ton and was a tripple hundred.

He disappointed me this year.

He started with 200 and 156 but six of his last seven innings were less than 15 runs and the seventh was 23.

It's the same issue as Asif.

Pakistan needs a third opener and Salman Butt was told that he'd be recalled if he did well enough in QEA.

And he did better than all his competitors, notably Shan Masood, Mohammad Hafeez, Nasir Jamshed and Khurram Manzoor.

Ahsan Ali & Jaahid Ali dissapointed me overall.

I want to see Jaahid & Hamza Ghanchi bat to see where they stand.

Salman is in line for Test recall once Azhar moves to number 3. Sharjeel will remain in Test squad for 1 more series atleast. Inzamam likes his agressive intent and rates him.

Sharjeel is the way to go. But ideally Azhar and Sami should open

With Misbah & Younis retiring Azhar might move back to his preferred number 3 position. He is not a natural opener.

Sharjeel's technique, temperament, game against spin and fitness will be tested in Test Cricket. Let's see how he goes.

Salman Butt is in line.
