Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif signals intent for peace talks with India: ‘We want to resolve all disputes’

What a country...gets spanked in war...celebrates with victory procession..thanks every country for saving. Their ass and gets nothing from the victory. Now bleating like a goat for talks...why would India talk..what is there to talk...nothing..

Pakistanis will be back at the discussion table with comments like we were mislead, misinformed by our army dictatorship and we were blinded by patriotism to indulge in all these fake narratives, we should have known better. We want peace with India. India is our neighbour and the region cannot progress without cordial relationship between both nations Bla Bla Bla.

It could be weeks, months, years or decades. But they will be there.

I keep saying. Lies don’t last long. They give you instant gratification or a convenient way to hide embarrassment but long term you cannot hide behind lies.

Look at your entire history. It’s the same old story. You’ve always come back from phases like this with brave admission of truth.l and it’s something I have admired as well about Pakistanis. Be it 1971, Kargil 1999, Mumbai 26-11 Pakistanis have always realized they were mislead and wrong about facts at the time and repented it. Just a matter of time they have an honest admission about this moment too. No amount of China bootlicking can ever save you from the damages India is capable of inflicting on you and you know that. Chinese themselves are the most coward people on the face of the planet. The way they surrendered to the Japanese and all the brutalities that the Japanese did to them is one of the most horrifying chapters of history. Your so called Iron brother will remain frozen in seat if the day comes when India has to unleash its full wrath on Pakistan army. You have seen how those Brahmos daggers hit their marks and you could do nothing about it. That’s just few minutes work, imagine what we can do in a longer war, we are tactically far superior army in this region. We don’t have US level money but we are damn professional and smart at tactics.

The May 2025 escalation is a reminder to all neighbours in the region to stay in their lane because we are more than capable of splitting anyone in our neighbourhood in multiple pieces If we intend to and there isn’t a damn thing any one can do about it.
There is article in wsj mostly covering irans devastating losses about how Arab countries similar to Pakistan spin stories of victory when all their army is obliterated by Israel..apparently Egypt fake propaganda fooled Jordan and he joined the war late hoping to score victory and instead lost West Bank.

To give credit due..the Pak generals are playing it well ..on one hand their media is spreading fake stories of destroying Indian bases s400 Brahmos depot ..downed Rafales etc etc...but knowing the total uselessness body their Chinese platforms are bleating for Western weapons...from the Bilwala minister to Munir and now PAF. Even defense minister rejected Chinese maal

Pakistan has indicated its willingness to engage in ‘composite’ talks with India amid a continued rift between the two nations. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar told the media on Friday evening that Islamabad was willing to discuss “all outstanding issues” including Kashmir — but insisted that his country would not “beg for talks”. New Delhi has repeatedly insisted in recent months that it will only interact with Pakistan about the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the issue of terrorism.

Ties between the two countries had come under severe strain following the deadly Pahalgam attack in April. India had subsequently launched Operation Sindoor — executing precision strikes against terror infrastructure and later retaliating to Pakistani attacks. Islamabad also launched an attack against Indian military bases in early May as the clash between the two nuclear armed neighbours continued to escalate. The Indian forces launched a fierce counter-attack on several Pakistani military installations. India and Pakistan had eventually reached an understanding on May 10 after four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes.

“Pakistan is ready for a composite dialogue with India in a dignified and respectful manner on all outstanding issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per its longstanding position on the matter,” Dar said during a media interaction.

The composite dialogue was launched in 2003 when General Pervez Musharraf was ruling Pakistan. It had eight baskets of components, containing all contentious issues between the two countries. The dialogue was derailed after the 2008 Mumbai attacks and never restored to its original form.

Top Indian officials have since confirmed that six Pakistani aircraft – including five fighter jets and another large plane — were downed during the clash. Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had denied the statement in early — vehemently insisting that not a single aricraft was hit or destroyed by India during the conflict. Others including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have admitted to some casualties while claiming without evidence that Islamabad shot down five Indian jets.

Despite the somewhat contradictory claims put forth by top leaders, Dar claimed on Friday that the Pakistani narrative was accepted and acknowledged at the global level through proactive diplomacy. The Deputy Prime Minister also insisted that Pakistani forces proved their prowess in the air and on land in the conflict with India and warned of responding fully to “any provocation”.

“Pakistan is also ready to respond with full force to India in case any aggression is committed, even through sea,” he said.

Such a warm gesture! I'm sure Modi, BJP, and all opposition parties are eagerly waiting to talk the Kashmir issue (whatever that is!) with Pakistan.

Stop believing or reading Pakistan Fake Propaganda news . Anyway India is not desperate for talk but Pakistan

They have to agree with india terms and conditions for talk or forget it. We have already draw the line now with #OpSindoor

I'll be the first one to vouch for talks if Pakistan doesn't cause terrorism in India for at least 10 years and stop parroting Kashmir. The problem is Pakistan wants talks only for the purpose of Kashmir.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has mentioned the Kashmir issue and the Gaza war in the same breath while stressing the normalisation of bilateral ties with India.

Addressing the overseas Pakistani community in London, Sharif raked up Kashmir, saying it was up to India to make efforts to establish peace in the region.

"India and Pakistan are neighbours and we must learn to live together. But, ties cannot be normalised unless the Kashmir issue is resolved. The blood of the Kashmiris will not go in vain," he said.

He asserted that if anyone believed that India-Pakistan relations could be established without addressing the Kashmir issue, "they would be living in a fool's paradise".

"We have fought four wars, costing billions of dollars. Those funds should have been used for the development and prosperity of the people of Pakistan," Sharif added.

He accused India of adopting a combative behaviour instead of being a cooperative neighbour. "It is upto us if we want to live in peace or continue to fight. It's our wish that we live by loving and respecting each other," he said.

Sharif then shifted to the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza and said, "Over 64,000 people have sacrificed their lives in Gaza. Their food and necessities have been stopped. They are unable to earn there as well."

The Pakistani Prime Minister's desperate attempts to extend an olive branch to India come at a time when relations between the nuclear-armed neighbours have deteriorated following the April 22 Pahalgam attack and the subsequent diplomatic measures against Islamabad.

Both countries also fought a brief but intense four-day armed conflict following India's Operation Sindoor on May 7. The late-night strikes had targeted key camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), killing over 100 terrorists. Both the terror groups have acknowledged massive losses by India in Operation Sindoor.

During the conflict, India attacked and destroyed several Pakistani military bases before both countries halted fighting and reached a ceasefire understanding on May 10.

India has made it clear that terror and talks cannot go together and suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan until Islamabad took verifiable steps to tackle cross-border terrorism. Pakistan also wrote to India, seeking reinstation of the water-sharing agreement, but to no avail.

That's it. Straight from the horse's mouth. No normalisation of ties in our lifetime.

God willing we will have a united and peaceful Asia soon.

Pakistan and Bangladesh have already restored ties. It shows that historical baggage doesn't need to remain forever. These two countries have good relations with almost all other Asian countries. China is heavily invested in the development of the region.

There are two outliers, the Afghan Taliban regime and the BJP regime in India. Us decent people will never forget that when Trump threatened China, the Indians gleefully responded to Trump and stood willing to take the place of the Chinese. Yet when India was humiliated, China welcomed it with open arms. India also lost a war with Pakistan and their game in Bangladesh was exposed. They also voted against women's rights to keep Afghan Taliban on side. It is a rogue state that is now getting called out for it's behaviour worldwide.

It is clear there is one obstacle to peace in the region. I don't know if they will ever see sense.

Add the Arab countries to that equation, they also make up Asia in part so have a vested interest in uniting the continent. Eventually India can be part of rising Asia and the movement of world economies eastwards, or they can continue to keep one foot in either camp, east and west. This will just end up with them stretching their seams too far and end up with ripping their pants. :(

China has always put China first. And India has been the same. I cannot say the same thing about Pakistan when their trade treaties with other countries is not reflective of that.

China and India have billions of trade and the same goes with Arabs. This playing in the camps is a child's play and countries should prioritize their sovereignty and its people. Billions of CPEC investments have been announced but what has it yielded??

“The World Bank reports that Pakistan’s external debt as a percentage of its GDP has surged from 23% in 2013 to 43% by 2021. This sharp increase has sparked fears of a potential "debt trap," akin to the predicament faced by countries like Sri Lanka, which also heavily engaged with Chinese investments.”

While I am not saying that CPEC is bad deal, it is clear that, the execution has been really bad as economic improvement over past 5 years is negligence.

Its not about whose camp you are in. As a nation, we should tread on our own path. So stop these “camps” and being “custodians of religion” etc.

I think there is considerable mistrust of Indians globally.

From the US, to Chinese, to Arabs, to Pakistan to Bangladesh, everyone views the Indians with suspicion.

They have tried to undermine three neighbourly countries in the space of weeks, and are playing host to two fugitive 'leaders' from their neighbours. No other country behaves in this way.

One of the consequences of painting yourself as 'non aligned' is that nobody will align with you either.

Unfortunately we are stuck with these Indians in the region and need to hope they mend their ways and join us to take the continent forwards.

I think the purpose is now served with Asim Munir becoming field Marshal. This is exactly the reason why Pahalgam attack was orchestrated - first the speech against Hindus, then the terrorist attack specifically killing Hindus. All of this was done to get a reaction from India , get opportunity to do some military skirmish and an excuse to promote him. Now all that is done, they want peace with India again because they want water.

What a country....

:dw :kp

You Mean to Say Asim won?

If Indian Military was capable enough to punish Asim , this would not have happened.

At end of day , India started aggression , Created war Hysteria on Media and Settled at ceasefire without any meaningful concession from Pakistan militarily or politically. There was no conditions of Ceasfire. Normally if you blanket opposition in military skirmish , Some demands are put forward to stop hostilities .

Whole world is demanding from Israel to accept ceasefire including Hamas , But Israel aint accepting it. But Somehow 56 Inch wala accepted it at one call of DGMO and forgot to even ask for Release of Kulbushan while at it

What’s the point of the talks? Indians are not willing to handover Indian occupied Kashmir and Pakistan is not willing to hand over Pakistani occupied Kashmir and neither side wants an independent Kashmir. So talks are not going to achieve anything unless Pakistan wants to make the status quo permanent where both sides give up on the other’s territory. I’m not sure if India wants the same. Its defence minister’s recent comments don’t reflect this to be the case.

India has a point, Indian Kashmir is its own internal matter and as long as they don’t abuse their authority, it’s got nothing to do with Pakistan. If India is abusing Muslims in Kashmir then that is a matter for the ICJ and the UN and Pakistan can present its case but it needs evidence of abuse. India is not a signatory of the Rome Statute so it doesn’t fall under the purview of the ICC.

Pakistan should look to its own and resolve its issues such as water, increasing temperatures from global warming which could devastate South Asia in the future, poverty, terrorism, development, economy, manufacturing, pollution, R&D, etc.

If we improve on these things, we will be in a better position to deal with India if necessary via diplomatic means.
