Honouring the Pakistan's memorable victory in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions' Trophy in June, Pakistan Post has issued commemorative postage stamps and souvenir sheet, DawnNews reported on Wednesday.

Pakistan Post's Treasury Officer Karachi Tariq Awan said that 50,000 souvenir sheets and 300,000 stamps have been issued.

The stamps and souvenir sheets will be available at post offices across the country from Thursday.

"The set of three stamps will cost Rs30, while the souvenir sheets are priced at Rs50 each," Awan said.

Pakistan had thrashed favourites India by 180 runs to clinch the Champions Trophy title in a thrilling competition at London's Oval ground.

The green shirts set up a daunting 339-run target with a loss of four wickets for the men in blue, but Indian batting collapsed under a calculated bowling attack, with all men out for just 158 runs in the 31st over.

The score is Pakistan's second-highest against India. The last time Pakistan beat India was in 2009 ─ also during a Champions Trophy match.

If CT victory can get so much for Pak players, What will happen if Pak wins world cup? :murali

Bro that will be like 10 times more than any eid, you will say babies named Hasan Ali and Shadab and Sarfraz and Babar, it'll make sure we get an ATG player in the next couple of decades

Going by past evidence, Sarfraz Ahmed would be contesting for the Prime Minister's chair in the coming decades, and the World Cup in question would still be spoken of and its tactics and strategies calling to be deployed well into a World Cup in the 2040s. :batman:

Yeah, that's what many countries/fans do :P

England footy fans still talk of the 1966 victory over West Germany. It happens, especially when the fans haven't tasted victory for a while.

Good gesture from the postal department to recognize this Pakistani team! I knew Pakistanis were thrilled to win the Champions trophy especially beating India in the final. But I think I underestimated the level joy the victory can bring to the public. Though I am disappointed with Indian team's loss, I am happy that the better team won and it brought some happy moments/memories for our neighbors.

It was because we won against India in the final and considering our recent record in tournaments against them. Indians and their arrogance made the victory even more sweet.

I wonder if Indian Postal Service issued any stamps after WC 2011?

Nopes, countries short on achievements tend to hype up small wins. India issued stamps in commemoration of victories over West Indies and England in 1971. Infact, I am surprised there is no stamp issue of even 1983 World Cup win.

Hardly surprising to see a sub-continental side take a JAMODI competition so seriously.

Test cricket is the real deal but of course they'll know nothing about that.

Not a problem. We were No.1 in Tests a few months ago as well. We've tasted all types of victories my dear friend.

India and Pakistan have been Test #1 over the last year, and played in the ODI CT Final. I believe Pakistan are #1 in T20s.

We prioritize all formats equally.
