Pakistan Super League 2018 - Replacement Draft [Finalised list #64]

I agree about paying more to domestic players which I am sure will happen in coming years.

However, I would like to point out that PSL has produced more international talent in two seasons then IPL, BPL or any other league for that matter.

Not sure if I should take it as a compliment of PSL or criticism of PAK domestic system. You are telling something like Yash Chopra film has produced more actors than the National Film Institute at Pune.

HBL PSL Replacements Finalized

Lahore, January 29: Jofra Archer, Tymal Mills, John Hastings and Dwayne Smith have joined HBL PSL for the third season.

These T20 stars were selected at a Replacement Draft held at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore, earlier today.

Five players selected at the Player Draft held in November became fully unavailable for this season:

Afghan spinner Zahir Khan joins Multan Sultans to provide cover for West Indian batsman Nicholas Pooran for the first three games of the tournament. Pooran will join the Sultans after finishing with the domestic 50-over competition back home.

Replacements were also drafted for players who are partially available for HBL PSL season three. Replacement players will become active as and when the players they are covering for become unavailable for selection.

Anyone know about Evin Lewis’ availability?
Is he completely unavailable or has partial availability?

Don't think he'll be available as he'll be playing for West Indies in the World Cup Qualifiers.

I think we have enough talent in Pakistan to have very competitive 3-4 teams, just see the last T20 National cup. However it is criminal how the top performers like Mukhtar weren't selected. The foreigners (the current signings that we have) apart from a few are just their to make up the numbers.

Compared to the BPL this year we have much inferior international signings than even them and this is before the tournament has started, who knows how many will walk out before the actual event. :facepalm

Psl isn't as reliant on overseas players as the other leagues. Even if we don't have the absolute cream we can still put on good games

That was exactly my point. The international players are just there because it is a "global" league. BBL is kind of similar in this regard too.

This happened only because of the world cup qualifiers, it will be alright in seasons to come, just an exception this year, still top players.

True, but still plenty of top cricketers on show and this way we get to see some cricketers that are unknown in the subcontinent

PSL should be for Pakistan talent first then for international cricketers. More international cricketers mean more politics and less venues in Pakistan. PAkistan should not play Afghan players, lot of instability being pushed by their board, not a good decision to play them.

No Mukhtar or Awais Zia or other hard hitters from PAkistan, not happy with this replacements strategy. They are not even of the calibre of Johnson or others which mite've justified their selection.

The international contingent looks weaker than ICL. When will they get rid of these WI mercenaries? and who the hell came up with the scheduling of PSL? They could have managed to get some better players if they had followed the previous schedule.

If MORRIS was in the draft and was available i think he would have been an excellent pick.
