John Hastings has retired from ODI and Test matches can he be included in PSL3 draft if he makes himself available for the tournament??

Or there is any sort of date cut-off criteria of making oneself available for the tournament??

I don't think that's a necessity, that's essentially the upper limit my friend. Can someone confirm this, please?!

I am not 100% sure but I think that playing 4 foreign players isn't necessary. I guess you could play 3 foreign players if you wanted to but that just wouldn't make any sense. As for the PSL final in Lahore, I think Quetta had foreign players flown in to prove it is safe for foreigners; if local players played it wouldn't be proving much.

I hope Multan goes for Raza Hasan, should have been our premier spinner by now. Misbah preferred Zulfi over him in ODIs and then he himself messed up with bans and all. Looks good in first two match after comeback although against weaker oppositions but still.

I believe this might be the case as Lahore Qalandars would be having first pick in every category.

But it would spin overkill, Sunil Narien, Yasir Shah and then Raza Hassan.

Spin overkill may be the way to go in UAE/Pakistan conditions. One leg spinner, one off spinner and one slow left armer is a perfect trio.

It is expected to be early October I think but this is Pakistan cricket we are talking about so won't be surprising if they reschedule it

No each time has to field 4 overseas players, which is why Peshawar Zalmi had to sign a few players for a few games just so they can have a few options of which overseas players to pick.
4 is necessary (unless there is an outstanding reason why they can’t play)

As for Raza Hassan, nothing confirmed. Even if a player trains with a certain franchise, when it comes to the draft anyone can pick anyone available. Even though LQ have first picks, they may pick someone else in that round and may miss out on Raza Hassan.
Personally they don’t really need him. Already have Narine and Yasir. Plus if they take a few from their PDP that’s more than enough, for example Usman Qadir last year

Finally, for once, KK is not under the spotlight and I am really glad it turned out like this. This whole new Multan franchise has taken away the much necessary hype from KK which is ideal for our team tbh.

Now let's look at the picks that we have at the moment, although I am quite miffed with the Afridi trade (especially by giving away a Gold and Silver pick) but khair hay, Lala is one of our own toh I'll let this one slide however he needs to prove this season that forgoing two picks was actually worth getting him in the team.

Now comes the interesting part, the lineup that will constitute the team and what will exactly make up the core:

Manzoor facepalm
Opener (Need someone who can take this position and make it their own)
Babar (No questions here, best batsman in the team)
Bopara (The ideal guy to take that Shabby spot)
No. 5 (This is a tricky spot, we would ideally want a proper bat who can give it a real go if need but)
Rizwan (WK + The collapse stopper, if it's happening; however might push him up and down accordingly based on situation)
Lala (He comes before Imad because no matter what the situation is he will play the same, Imad basically at 8 is insurance)
Imad (I am not that comfortable with him being the specialist death over slogger but we don't really have other options at the moment, Plus he is the #1 Allrounder in T20s at the momen~makes sense!!)
Amir (Kuch ker Lay Nalaiq !!!)
Usama Mir (Leggie and number 10, better than Shinwari but no way comes ahead of Amir who can bat properly)
Shinwari (Amir's new ball partner, death specialist and the 2nd pacer in the team - We only need 2 in the UAE or even in Pakistan)


Based on the above, at the moment we only have 2 spots open right now - The second opener and the Number 5. I would personally be inclined to take Jason Roy as the second openere and slot in somebody like a Luke Wright in the middle of this team. Would give us an additional pace option while making sure we have a very good bat who can provide both finnese and dash (as per requirement)

The rest of the picks can be Fawad Alam, Umer Amin, Random Guy #1, Random Guy #2 so on and so forth.

Wouldn’t play Khurram Manzoor.
Look to get atleast one more opener in the draft (one overseas) and if nothing else play Afridi opener. Hit or miss, but when he fires can take any game away from any opponent.
Also Babar Azam could open as he did in PSL 2, this is only if they don’t find any other openers.
Middle order needs to be strengthened cos we all know Rizwan is not that reliable.
Luke Wright if available would slot in quite nicely, or Saad Nasim/Bilal Asif out of the locals

Not sure about Raza Hassan but saw Faheem Ashraf in Qadaafi trhe other day marching with Fawad Rana and Umer Akmal. I'm hoping LQ would pick him up in the draft and that should be a very good inclusion.

Franchises had the choice to pick two players from the Gold category. The categories were decided by the PCB via PSL management. This is why KK let KP and Shoaib Malik go to MS. They couldn’t afford to have KP, Afridi and Malik in the same squad due to fact that the categories were decided by the PCB. KK could have put KP in the diamond category and Malik and Afridi in the Platinum or with any number of different combinations but they couldn’t because they were not in charge of categorising the players into their desirable categories. QG had to release Shahzad because of this very reason!

Request is a key word here. They can request the relegation of ones category but it’s the prerogative of PCB to decide player’s category. I don’t really trust the news sources of Pakistani print media.
