Didn't expect Zimbabwe to make it past 200. That too this team of all teams. Well done, Taylor. But unfortunately, I don't see any future for cricket in Zimbabwe. Their best years are truly a distant memory now.
 
Say what you want about Wahab, his experience has helped Pakistan in the final T-20 against England and now again today.
 
Better bowling in the last 10 overs was the match winner Zimbabwe conceded too many first up and collapsed when looking on course to go close to winning.

No, I heard high quality contest which is true - quality and competitiveness are not synonymous terms. Not many games these days remain in balance till 96th over.

Yes proven by running through Zimbabwe after they almost pulled off a win. We saw when it mattered in Aus and Eng. anyway I am not playing this game. Shaheen is a great talent. No doubts there
 
Once again, individual effort needed to bail out. No plan, strategy, execution - zilch.

Abid, Faheem, Iftikhar et al, won't find a place in a Bangladesh B team, and we're rinsing their opportunities day in day out.
 
Well done by the lads. Batting could've been better. I'd defo want to see Abdullah, Haider and Khushdil play in one of the odis ideally the next 2.

Mamoon was saying Haris would be another Wahab, and I wrote it would beuseful if he was.

Sure. Since Madhevere showed what he has which hacks like AB and Gayle with all their records couldn’t manage in the legendary PSL, he can be a value add

Yep. People don't understand that one of the reasons why Pakistan went undefeated in "home" series from 2010-2017 in Tests was because we were playing in the UAE. Had we been playing in Pakistan, teams like Australia and England would've smashed us. We could hardly win a match in ODIs in the UAE against the big teams so winning against them im Pakistan would be a miracle.

People just don't realise that the skill level is just not at par with any good side in the world. If Zimbabwe is making you fret till the 96th over of the match, then it's really doom and gloom. We are really competing with only 2 good players: Babar and Shaheen and it shows.

Bhai, let’s not be this much excited. A win is win but still it was against Zim. Regarding fast bowlers and Aarons, I would say India has done well against Pak in WCs despite Pak having amazing pace bowlers.
 
Called it earlier that Taylor, Ervine, Williams and Raza will need to pull through and get these runs. Taylor did it mostly himself along with Ervine but he didn't make the start count.
 
We were short by 50 runs on that wicket. A better team would have chased it down easily. Neither Imam or Abid can consistently score close to a run a ball and neither should be in the team.

The logic was confusing even if we didnt play haider and abdullah why was fakhar dropped or not played

Fakhar isn't good enough anymore. The problem with playing the likes of Imam is that eat up poor bowlers and get such great stats that it becomes impossible to drop them.
 
Congratulations to Zimbabwe for producing a high quality performance in the run chase. It was always Pakistan's game to lose but Taylor was outstanding.
 
Gotta have haider and Abdullah in this side for this series. I just cant see Abid as a ODI player. He is a good test opener for us but having him and Imam in the same side just doesnt work. I like Imam and he has good qualities but we cant have two or three like him. Gotta look at the openeing combo as we need a foil to imam. Fakhar is the obvious choice but why not try one of the newbies up top? Actually why not get Babar to open?. Haris looked good but again has no real work ethic.

rauf is just brainless at times..I am seriously concerned about our pace attack as we only really have one good pacer for ODI's and thats Afridi. Wahab isnt gonna be here beyond the t20 wc...

I like faheem too. i really do..but he was poor today..why dont these guys put their hands up? this is their chance..

can somebody tell me who the elading pacers are other than afridi in pakistan right now? I have to check the QEA trophy stats and ighlights to see whats going on!!

Overall a lethargic and underwhelming win that should have been more comprehensive..

PS Babar flitted between brainless and competent at times..but I guess he will learn.. overall he was ok but against a top side he will be under immense pressure!!

He was showing attitude of AB after blocking every delivery. It seems like he is another Misbah type player who loves to boost his own stats and forget about team. Pathetic mentality.
 
players like Imam, Imad and Iftkhar should not have been picked for this series. This is why Misbah is hated because he has this defensive and timid approach who should never have been given this much power.

You can't say Pakistan would have lost if they had played in Pakistan.This is your assumption.The games were never played in Pakistan so no one knows who would have won.
 
Zimbabwe should have won this game. This is the problem with minnows...they dont quite know how to close matches. Everyday likes of Babar Azam wont get out cheaply and everyday Taylor wont score a century. Today Zimbabwe played better cricket than Pakistan and still lost. Remaining matches...they basically have no hope when Pakistan will be better prepared.
 
Zimbabe were in a good position to wind this match but couldn't handle the pressure when Taylor got out.Zimbabwe played good cricket.Abid Ali is not an odi player.Younger players should be given a chance in next matches.

True that. Haris Sohail batted well alongside Imam who did ok but some really bad running between the wickets.

I'm just anxious and eager to see some new faces/caps to be issued. I really want to see Abdullah, Haider and Khusdil (he's grown on me especially, was quite impressed with his National t20 performance).

We need to be fearless in our approach and not be afraid to lose but be thankful that we tried and tested new guys. These are the games they should get and it's a perfect platform.

Haris Rauf a guy i supported is just seriously letting me down, what is he seriously doing!!!!!! I mean it's like the Katy Perry song- "Hot and Cold".
