With WC preparation in hindshight, Pakistan to play very low amount of ODis till 2019 as follows:
1-Pakistan vs Srilanka in UAE Oct 2017 5 Odis
2-Pakistan tour to NZ January 2018 5 ODis
3-Asia cup 2018 June 2018
4-Pakistan tour to Zimbabwe August 2018
5-Pakistan vs Aus in UAE September 2018 5 ODis
6-Pakistan vs NZ in UAE Nov 2018 5 ODis
7-Pakistan tour to RSA Jan 5 Odis
8-Pakistan in England 5 Odis May 2019

Don't just look at the calendar. This will change given PCBs habit of arranging an eleventh hour series every now and then.

It is fixed, In 2015 and 2016 Pakistan played same series listed in FTP, nothing cancelled nor added…

best thing is that pakistan is playing 20 ODIs vs top teams from sept 2018 till worldcup.
that is the best they could have arranged.
only other top team left is india and we dont play each other.

Wow we hardly play any cricket you know, that's a sad thing. I think every team should be roughly around the same matches as everyone else.

Does get busier towards the end of 2018 and into 2019 but PCB should arrange more series for the first half of 2018.

This is the consequence of not having cricket relations with two countries in India and Afghanistan, and needlessly insisting on hosting Bangladesh when we could do so in UAE.

Hopefully now after champions trophy more Pakistani cricketers will be invited to play in overseas leagues and county cricket. I hope to see the likes of hasan Ali, babar azam, Amir etc. In leagues such as BBL and ofc county cricket.

Three windows which need filling:

1-Pakistan vs Srilanka in UAE Oct 2017 5 Odis

Need a tour here to replace the cancelled India series. There aren't too many options though.

2-Pakistan tour to NZ January 2018 5 ODis

Far too big a window. Two tests against England in May, so realistically if PCB do want to arrange a tour in this window it will have to be during March. Looks like only Zimbabwe, Ireland and Afghanistan will be available during March.


3-Asia cup 2018 June 2018
4-Pakistan tour to Zimbabwe August 2018
5-Pakistan vs Aus in UAE September 2018 5 ODis
6-Pakistan vs NZ in UAE Nov 2018 5 ODis
7-Pakistan tour to RSA Jan 2019 5 Odis

Although this looks a big window, Pakistan will be hosting Australia in March for three tests so it is unlikely anything else can be scheduled. Logistically, the only real possibility is a short series against Ireland- the advantage of this is that it will allow PCT to play in English-type conditions right before the WC
