Can someone summarize what happened? What did PCB get in return for the boycott drama? If they didn’t get anything material in return, I think they’ve outdone India’s handshake drama.

Indian media was super confident that the match will take place. I was skeptical but they turned out to be right.

Good that sanity ultimately prevailed and Pakistan didn’t burn the bridges. Cricket is a sport that unites people in Pakistan and is important for the society. Pakistan need to strengthen their cricket and ultimate target should be to move away from over reliance on ICC funds

ICC should re-enter negotiation with broadcaster and renegotiate the rights.

This match got more hyped and these Indians should pay more for it.

But unlikely Jay Shah will have guts to do this.

naaaa, our issue is much bigger. Its a case of discrimination, we were getting all the right attention to the point hta even India was feeling pressure. But we as always bended over.

It is for sensible Pakistanis to introspect but Moshin Naqvi is bluffing them big time.

In Asia cup, he said Pakistan will boycott if Pycroft is not removed from match referee. ICC didnt remove him and Naqvi circulated a muted video claiming Pycroft apologized. Then continue to play the remainder of the tournament with same match referee.

Here also, knowing they cant boycott, they staged a drama and asked BCB chief to put some lines from their official handle so that they can sell a story that only on BCBs insistence Pakistan agreed to play India. I am sure even BCB is laughing about it in close quarters.

Bro same day we got record fee for Multan franchise we also saved 20+ countries from extinction in cricket and saved Sri Lanka tourism industry.

These Indians were saying nobody cares and nothing will happen if Pakistan plays or doesn't play.

But their kids will be watching international cricket only due to the actions of Mohsin Naqvi.

Still they can't give credit.

An FYI. I disagree with your posts and most certainly will disagree going forward as well, but this was not written to offend you . It was made in jest and to be taken in that fun spirit !
 
According to the senior sports reporter Waheed Khan who is normally very critical of the PCB and Mohsin Naqvi, he confirms that the PCB did demand increased revenue share for the PCB from the ICC and the ICC in term commented that nothing can be done now, wait till the end of 2027 and then we will address your grievances.

The reporter feels that the PCB and Pakistan was never going to boycott and risk the ire of the BCCI, ICC, Broadcasters, other ICC members and by mentioning the pleas from UAE, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to end the boycott, they managed to get some face saving.

Not sure i agree. I don't think the PCB should have involved itself to this extent for Bangladesh.

What drama the last few days.
Perhaps PK got something out of it but as was proven this was all about Bangladesh-and frankly it wasn't Pakistan's battle to fight. They already got what they wanted-a neutral site match vs. India-what more do you want?
Following the commentary here let's be blunt had IK been Prime Minister none of this would ever have happened. PK would have either stuck to their guns or boycotted no matter the cost or they would not have even raised the issue in the first place.
SS is much more pragmatic-I think this was an attempt to negotiate something more a businessman than a politician and this was his attempt to hold the match hostage.
