Bro, sometimes it’s better to stay quiet and accept defeat rather than blabber for the sake of it and make a bigger fool of yourself. The Pakistan government, from its official X handle, said they would boycott the India game. Your Prime Minister said in Parliament that he would not allow his team to play against India. And now you’re claiming Pakistan will play because the ICC decided not to punish the BCB? LMAO.
Just accept that the PCB couldn’t show the same backbone as Bangladesh and did a U-turn on its boycott calls. Not sure how being dishonest helps your case.
Basically, the PCB tried to act smart and dragged the government into this, thinking they could hide behind the force majeure clause. In the process, Naqvi threw Shehbaz Sharif under the bus...proving that the Prime Minister of a country has no value, and neither do his words. When the ICC threw the law book in their face over force majeure, the PCB suddenly started called them for “dialogue.”
With nowhere left to run and no option but to play, the PCB then tried to use the situation for bargaining - bilateral cricket, tri-series, more money, handshakes… please, please, please.
When the ICC rejected all of that too, a new story was planted: Pakistan is ready to play because the BCB chief requested them. So now, after everything the PCB supposedly did “for” the BCB, Pakistan will ignore its Prime Minister’s promise and play just because the BCB chief asked nicely.
What an emotional climax. Even Bollywood would be proud.
All Pakistan had to do was shut up and focus on cricket. They already got the hybrid arrangement they wanted, including semi finals and final (if qualify). Instead, they tried to act smart, and the ICC showed them their aukat within days. The BCCI on the other hand didn’t even blink and yet the PCB surrendered in front of the whole world.
From next time, drame kam karo. Humble request. These annual humiliations are no longer even funny.
