Honestly. When in life you have to reconsider a decision. Whether by your own mistake or promoted by other party to do so through communication. You always do that.

Coming towards a better solution is better for everyone. Instead of dying on your stupid hill just because you don't want people to think that you had to reconsider your decision.

Psychologically speaking. I sense you are IK allergic and that's why u turn is triggering for you. In your mind you have divorced not only the word but also the action of u turn.

the problem with having a decision with the likes of you is that the moment there is a disagreement, you start bringing in IK and things un related to the topic.

This only shows your own maturity level, and your desperation on this forum to spin a matter just to look good infront of the Indians.

Real winner in this saga is the BCB, they will get the participation fee from this T20 WC and their annual ICC share, they will get an ICC tournament as well, who knows India might tour them in the future. They successfully used the PCB and emotionally blackmailed them for their needs.

If the role was reversed, the BCB like it did in the past would stay away from the PCB.

Well BCB never asked Pakistan to stand up for them. That was a decision Pakistan took on their own.

But we have posters here from Pakistan trying to spin it as the greatest win in PCBs career.

BCB and Scotland both getting participation fees is ridiculous and reduces what all other teams are getting. Plus, if BNP wins the election and they decide to maintain relations with India, the tours between both countries will continue to take palce.
 
Doing a U-turn now would be a total embarrassment. I hope the PCB don't back down now, I support this boycott as something needs to change. Can't have the ICC being BCCI's lapdogs for this long.
 
I'm sure Pakistan got some concessions but India probably don't want it to be revealed publicly fearing ire from the Hindu nationalist home base, and all this being interpreted as a sign of weakness. After all, all the decisions that BCCI have taken since September have been informed by that home base. From instructing their players not to shake hands with the Pakistanis to askng KKR ro remove Mustafizur.

I dont think so. From the "official" Media release, all I see is no sanction on BCB which wasnt going to happen anyway as ICC themselves kicked out BCB. Then some random tournament hosting in the future. It doesnt mention or wont mention the concessions made to PCB. However, behind the scenes we can assume something was offered to PCB.

Which is fair. I don't mind. PCB used their card their card to repair some of the damage from ICC and BCCI that was done to them in these past weeks.

PCB also won them an ICC tournament. This is massive.

And if we talk about Bangladesh not standing up for Pakistan. Then I have a simple answer. Pakistan owe Bangladesh a lot of repairing for it did to the people in that part of the world when the crisis of 1971 happened.

I know what you're implying but I think this was said in good faith and they will get an ICC tournament and I don't think it will be a women's tournament either @Major

I don't think women's cricket is popular in BD and they might struggle to fill stadiums even for the home team.

There's no ICC tournament in 2029 and Champions Trophy is the only tournament left.

I suspect they will get to host that.

Why is it only upon Pakistan to accomplish that? There is no point dying on this obstinate hill alone if no one else is willing to do the same. Need to take it one step at a time, now atleast the other boards now that the BCCIICC isn't as all powerful and invincible as they think.

naa, champions trophy is the barrell that scrapes them some money and they wont give it to BCB.

They will either get qualifiers, U19 or a womens tournament.

Not talking about social media trolls/ YouTubers but Indian mainstream media is generally more respectful of cricket players like Babar, Rizwan. Shaheen etc than Pak media.

2031 is a long time away. Also, what’s popular in BD may not be linked to what event ICC may hold there.

whatever financial concessions PCB may have got can easily be overturned if not documented. Once the India Pakistan game takes place, ICC can back track.

I wont be surprise if Naqvi asked for an extended tenure as ACC chief.

Is this press release real? I'm not sure man the number is dodgy or these Bangladeshis didn't check it properly before release.

I wanted to ask what happened in the meetings lol better to ask directly than wait for media.

for a cricket team that sucks in every tournament, doesnt get to host anything apart from Asia cup. Its still a win.

Funny thing is PCB were using them all a long for their own mission, but in the end BCB ends up using them, or gets more benefit.

BCB doesnt play the WC and still come out with more money and an ICC event. Meanwhile PCB twice made threats, couldnt even get a match referee change, will still play WC match and in return they win a handshake.

That small clown in a very big office didn't need to tweet about the boycott. Saala sb. could have just sent a letter that our government is asking us to boycott and ICC negotiations would have started.

Not a fan of him anymore but man Nawaz is 200x better than his clown brother & it's a travesty that the dictator chose the lesser brother as his personal puppet.

Tbh, I don't see what 1971 has to do with this. Issuing Bangladesh an apology for 1971 would be enough, but ofc that would damage the fragile ego of Pak Miltab.

This probably improves Pakistan's foreign relations with Bangladesh more than anything else. But like I said before, Bangladesh does not offer any real strategic value so not sure how much can be gained there too.

It is a nice gesture though. Bangladesh were treated poorly and kicked out of the World Cup without much debate so this definitely something.

The PCB has no choice but to backtrack now, they officially did this primarily for Bangladesh. Now that the BCB has come forward in public and requested them to play the Feb 15 game, the PCB has no choice but to end the forfeit.

once the ICC released the statement on their website, it confirmed what was being speculated.

I am really heartbroken by all this. Reminds me of the Hitler meme video. One moment we were proud and happy taking everything down, next we get news that Naqvi does not carry out the steiner attack

Firstly elections in Bangladesh are in 2 days. Currently there is an interim government but once an elected stable government is in place in Bangladesh, a lot of things will change. Jamaat which is seen as rabid anti-India just issued their mandate and it explicitly mentions good relations with neighbors and explicitly mentions “India”.

I am not saying we will become best buddies with Bangladesh or they will overnight become anti-Pak but a lot of this tension will be diffused by then. It gives a lot more official access to India for diplomatic moves as well both from political and cricket perspective.

Afghan cricketers thank BCCI everyday even though their intial training happened in Pak.

All GOI has to do is invite Bangladesh for a full series in India and reciprocate the favor, no matter how much PCB says it’s their doing, no one will buy it. Everyone will thank BCCI.

No chest thumping or antagonizing but just like other things, this is exactly how things should happen unless unforeseen circumstances.

BCCI and the ICC offered lollypops to the PCB in 2014 as well during the Big 3 vote. We all saw how that turned out. Promises, offers, verbal commitments mean nothing when dealing with the ICC and BCCI. Once the Feb 15 game takes place and is over. PCB will have no more leverage.
 
My Man of the match and series in this whole Pak-BCB World Cup incident. Didn’t bow down to any demands from PCB. Didn’t bow down to initial threat from BCB. Quietly got the job done. No wonder his name is Jay👍. Haters will hate him but the man got the job done.

If you don't think so. Then at the very least PCB alone played their member role to ensure BCB doesn't get sidelined or bullied by ICC or BCCI.

You answered your own question. Shahbaz is spineless and has always been the messenger/mediator between Nawaz and the Miltab because of his diplomatic demeanor. Been saying this from day 1, Pak doesn't have the guts to boycott the Ind-Pak of all matches.

They do have some nuisance value, and that's about it. The stuff my dog leaves on the sidewalk is worth more than the nonsense Naqvi talks.😂

Just FYI, PCB lost the court case when it tried to sue. Which means 2 things, did BCCI and ICC even make those tall promises or why was PCB incompetent to not get a proper deal. It’s easy to blame everything on big bad ICC and BCCI.
 
By the way how is this a revenue win for the BCB? As far as I can see the release says only that BD won’t be penalised

100% and with all due respect. The chairman of that time. Najam Sethi. Is a rather soft man in comparison to Mr. Naqvi. You have to be fierce to demand things to go in your direction.

I've liked that man & so did my dad once upon a time so I try not to bad mouth him too much but the man has always been a puppet. Just a bit more nuanced & adds a layer of necessary politics on things while his brother is a straight up cherry blosson.

P.s. no one has a better policy vis. a vis. India than Nawaz. Cherry blossom & failed martial are hell bent on making Pakistan a hate centric nation that hates everyone irrationally.

Funny thing is PCB were using them all a long for their own mission, but in the end BCB ends up using them, or gets more benefit.

BCB doesnt play the WC and still come out with more money and an ICC event. Meanwhile PCB twice made threats, couldnt even get a match referee change, will still play WC match and in return they win a handshake.

Bangladesh hosted the inaugural Champions Trophy and the World T20 in 2014.

They can host it in a hybrid model with India's matches being in India (Kolkata) but at least on paper they can host and get hosting fees etc.
 
Also, can someone pls confirm why BCB chief requested Pakistan to play India when he didn't allow his own team to play in India. Its like I dont go to someone's house for marriage as the guy is evil but encourage my neighbour to marry him.

Some logic even breaks even Newtons 3rd law.
