What's new

Pakistan U19 v Bangladesh U19 World Cup game abandoned due to wet outfield

140 to mid 140 is high speeds... doesnt look like tht (i hope he is lol ) ....

i think he is in one of the PSL teams as well? any ideas which one?

Yet to see anyone correctly predicting through videos. Some posters were saying Naseem Shah was a 135 kph pacer. What Ijaz Ahmed has said and considering how far the keeper is standing and how it looks on videos, he definitely looks 140 plus. Obviously we will know more in televised Quarter Finals.

If this match is rained of it would probably mean playing Afg in QFs which wont be an easy task.

Look at how far the keeper is back and the speed of the ball after it raced to the boundary after the LBW. 145 clicks me thinks.

Afghanistan is the youngest side in the competition,if Pakistan can't beat this very young Afghan team then it doesn't deserve to go further.

Last 3 wickets.

If I am not wrong their spinner noor Ahmed listed his age as 14 in ipl this year and few months later now he's suddenly 18. Yeah sure they are the youngest.

its still raining...i believe if we finish second we wil play Afganistan and then India but if we win we play South Africa and also avoid India if we win

What time does the match need to start before it's called off plz

We have such a bad luck!!!! Rain keeps destroying our hopes in big trophies for quite some times

Our batsmen can't play spinners.

Then they will never be ready

If they are aspring international cricketers then they need to face the challenge, if they keep on failing against spin then there is something is wrong with the system.

Looks like India is super favorite in this world Cup. After that it will be WI. We still have a long way to go.
Who was the winner last year?

Lol wanted Amir in the team and he made the difference otherwise I would have been right.

What a absurd logic .

M Wasim had a fifer and 3 wicket in last 2 game .You are telling me Mighty bd would've destroyed Pakistan if Pak had played their best bowler.

May be bd is not that good you are making them out🤔

nfortunate news

Stop-start rain means there will be no further play between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Potchefstroom.

And it's predicted to rain when Afg play Pak and if the game gets washed out, Afg will go through.

Inida is not invincible.Their batting looks good but anything happen in pressure games.

Lucky escape for BD, now they better win the cup as they dont have to face the mighty Afghans. :shan

If they bat 1st and get 200, we are in trouble because their spinners can be destructive. But their batting is also suspect so if we get 200, we should have a great chance.

Just checked the weather it says thunderstorms in spots so should get a game thier wont be much spin as it's raining majority of days so better for pakistan

Hopefully the forecast doesn’t get worse. What is the venue and date for this match?

An outstanding bowling effort by Pakistan bowlers went in vain as rain and a wet outfield forced a premature end of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Group C clash at the JB Marks Oval, Potchefstroom on Friday.

Both Bangladesh and Pakistan finished with five points each at the completion of their games; Bangladesh however topped the group on a better net run-rate and will stay in Potchefstroom for their quarter-final clash in the Super League stage.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will travel to Benoni to play Afghanistan who topped Group D in the fourth quarter-final, scheduled to be played on Friday 31 January.

On Friday, Bangladesh were left reeling at 109 for nine after 25 overs when rain interrupted the day’s play for the second and what turned out to be the last time.

Debutant fast-bowler Amir Khan bowled a sensational spell with the new ball in which he took four wickets for 30 runs in six pacy overs.

Abbas Afridi continued his good form with the ball. The right-armer, who had taken a total of five wickets in the first two games, added three more to his tally in an impressive seven-over burst, while conceding 20 runs.

Opener Tanzid Hasan, with 34 runs, was the highest scorer for Bangladesh and Avishek Das scored 20 runs.

Scores in brief:

Bangladesh 106 for 9, 25 overs (Tanzid Hasan 34, Avishek Das 20; Amir Khan 4-30, Abbas Afridi 3-20)

We have problem with wrist spinners, not finger spinners. The batsmen can't read where it is going

The problem is with PCB. I see all U16/U19 regional teams. Most of them are packed with finger spinners. The selectors need to give space to wirst spinners as well.

Why didn't Afghanistan select Mujeeb Ur Rahman for ICC U19 World Cup?.He is only 18 years old!

Bangladesh topped the group and are likely to face South Africa in quarter-final.

Pakistan had the game in the bag but weather had the final say.
