Pakistan U19s (303) comprehensively defeat Afghanistan U19s (220) by 83 runs to qualify for the Semi-Finals of the ACC U19 Asia Cup

Exceptionally poor umpiring. Zeeshans bat was miles away from the ball. It seems umpire is just judging based on vociferous appeals.

Even though Pakistan U19 lost quickly but still they are going at 6.55 runs per over, which is not bad. 288/6 in 44 overs

It was strange to see both Saad Baig and Azan Awais coming late down the order. Why shuffling so much?

Azaan looks so good. Has all the shots. First ball charges down the track and lifts the fast bowler over his head for 4. Second ball steps across to offside and sweeps it over square leg for 4. Third ball waits on the stumps and slashes the wide ball down to third man for 4.

You jinxed him bro.

With just 3 overs remaining in the 1st innings, Pakistan U19 should try and take the score to something around 330-340.

Cannot bat the full overs and Pakistan U19 is all out for 303. After such an explosive start from Shamyl, the boys lost the plot and ended up with 20 30 runs short.

I really liked the way Riaz ullah bat against the spinners , very confident and literally toying with him on all parts of the ground but his game against pace is very limited.

Khubaib has got some pace and bowling beautiful outswingers and getting bounce too but is currently all over the place.

yes but the u19 team has sprayed the ball and is bowling wides just like other teams. Does this mean PJL did not work
Khubaib didn't played PJL infact two months ago he was playing as a batsmen , it is only in last month he has started bowling.

Khubaib making the batsmen hurry in his shots , I guess he is bowling between 134-138K which is good enough pace for his age.

Terrific delivery from Ubaid and with a bit of pace too. I think he can go to the worldcup but not Amir.

Ubaid's 2nd wicket was beautiful. Anwar Ali esqe . Swung from wide outside off into to bowl the top offstump.

They had M.Ibtisam , M.Ismail and Abidullah available and all of them being quicker than Amir Hasan by 5ks and Abidullah is a left armer too so I don't know whey they opt the slowest of those 4 bowlers?

Both Ubaid and Khubaib are not polished like the PJL guys , So the difference is there for everyone to see.

Saad baig captaincy is brilliant and aggressive , He wants Afg batsmen to go aerial an clear the infield and brought on a part timer to encourage them.

If the wickets are not falling Saad baig is thinking out of the box to manufacture a wicket.

We deinitely needs a Naman or Khalel type pacier bowler , the lack of pace from our pacers is trully embarassing at the moment being the land of fast bowlers.

When Khalel came back to bowl in the middle and late overs he looked like a beast and troubled all our batters , we don't have such bowler in our ranks sadly.

Mashallah this bunch is a pack of proper rockstars. Was watching Yousufs interview today where he said that his boys will be going to compete and there wont be any dosti yaari with the opposite team before or during the match. They will be in the faces of the opposition throughout

Ubaid with a M.Asif delivery once again. Bowled the batsmen , This guy might not have pace but is definitely talented. My views on him are changed.

A seam bowler who can clock 130k and seam it both ways is still better than swing bowler at same pace or even 140k gun barrel straight bowler and Ubaid making the ball talk even on batting friendly wicket.

He is also the brother of Naseem and Hunain

He is also the brother of Naseem and Hunain
Yes but I initially thought that he is 130-135k and was super disappointed seeing his effort delivery hardly reaching 130k but he compensated his lack of pace with brilliant both way seam movement which is indeed a rare quality.

There was another guy with a beautiful Dion Nash type action in the PJL. I wonder what happened to him

This Afg player has the name "Allah Mohammad" and they are displaying his name on the screen as only "Allah". Can someone keep their name like that??

This U19 team we have is the best in years when it comes to mentally strong cricketers

Pure pace and quality spin is still missing though but batting has been the best since years

He seems to have that temperament

Definitely not. Allah's name must be preceded by Abdul(slave). Like Abdul Razzaq which means slave of Razzaq(one of Allah's name)

Match Report of Pakistan U19 vs Afghanistan U19, ACC Asia Cup 2023.

Pakistan U19 head to the semi-finals of ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023 riding on a three-match winning streak. After beating Nepal U19 and India U19 earlier in the tournament, Pakistan U19 defeated Afghanistan U19 by 83 runs at the ICC Cricket Academy Ground in Dubai. The Saad Baig-led side posted 303 in the first innings, on the back of half-centuries by Shamyl Hussain, Shahzaib Khan and Riazullah Khan. In turn, Afghanistan U19 were bowled out for 220.

After being invited to bat first, Pakistan opening batters Shamyl and Shahzaib stitched a masterful partnership that yielded 115 runs. Shamyl took charge from the get-go, hitting 75 from 54 and showcasing seven boundaries and five maximums, to put pressure on the opposition.

Afghanistan U19 captain Naseer Khan Maroofkhil trapped Shamyl LBW to break the partnership. He struck again soon after to take Mohammad Tayyab Arif out the same way. At the halfway mark, Pakistan U19 were 154-2 with Shahzaib and Riazullah on the crease. The two batted together to add 76 runs more to the total.

Shahzaib was the next batter to walk back to the pavilion, when he was caught off Faridoon Dawoodzai’s bowling after scoring 79 from 95, including nine fours and a six. In his subsequent over, Dawoodzai also removed Arafat Minhas. Shortly after, right-arm pacer Khalel Ahmed struck on two consecutive deliveries to dismiss Saad and Mohammad Zeeshan.

Azan Awais, who had an unbeaten century in the previous game, joined Riazullah on the crease. He scored 20 from 19, including three boundaries, before he fell to Dawoodzai for the latter’s third wicket of the day.

Riazullah was the third Pakistan batter to get a half-century (73, 69b, 5x4s, 2x6s) in the innings, ensuring that the team were in a position to put up a solid total, before he got out to left-arm seamer Bashir Ahmad in the 46th over. He took two more wickets in his next over to bowl out Pakistan for 303 in 48 overs.

Right-arm fast Khubaib Khalil, playing his first game of the tournament, landed an early blow on Afghanistan U19 as he took out Khalid Taniwal in just the fourth over.
