This deep square leg is useless. Azhar Ali cannot play the hook shoot to save his life. He cant even cut the ball.
 
No wicket for 20 plus overs, and australians doing what they do best. I thought they wouldn't need to sledge to get pak batsman out. They will themselves just present their wicket in a platter as azhar almost did here.

This drop will cost Australia the match. You can't drop Azhar Ali early in the innings.

This is the problem with scoring 1 run every 5 overs. The batsmen put themselves under pressure.
 
a very Shoaib Malik esque late cut by Azhar Ali for 2 runs.

He has improved his game against the spin, Mashallah.

On a separate note, Mitch Johnson has become a lethal weapon.
Looks like he's on his way to another fifer here.

That ball really looked dodgy, ball tempering or only due to conditions? Ball looked really scuffed up.

What is his body of work? I attribute that win the Sarfraz not Azhar. Sarfraz onslaught gave us the push otherwise would have been a draw.

Also, even Bhahji had a set of centuries to win test matches except again, you know it won't last.

Mitch hasn't looked that threatening after the first over.

He is lucky Azhar's good shots have been finding fielders otherwise his bowling figures could have been expensive.

Clarke might want to rest Johnson a bit, save him for the rest of the day. Misbah yet to bat and ball is reversing.

He didn't win the match. Sarfraz did. The lower score doesn't mean that Azhar was more vital with a century. He was a part of it but it was Sarfraz that helped us win.

At this point Ashwin offers more as a test batsmen and can bowl. Azhar is a tailender who scored in one match.

18 out of his last 21 innings are sub 50. That's disgusting.

Yah chased a target at over 5 runs per over on a 5th day? Thats what harbhajjan has done?

Azhar is out there in the middle taking the heat like a man. Tailenders cant survive johnson..

He was just dropped. Again without Sarfraz, that match is a draw. You're pointing to one innings for the worst statistical striker of the ball in the history of test cricket.

He was out of form and batsmen go through this phase. He is back and fighting like a man. Yah give all the credit to sarfraz please who wouldn't have trief anything if the platform wasnt set
 
Some posters were really saying azhar would be sitting duck in front of MJ, but well done azhar who is really fighting it out.

Also 18 out of 21 failures is now in form, AND right after he was just dropped against the Johnson you day he's "fighting" against with his glorious 22.
 
After two early wickets Pakistan have done well here to reach 50. Both batsmen are well set though Azhar played a poor shot late in first session.
Hopefully they will milk the spinners and be wary of MJ.

Signs of reverse. If balls starts reversing MJ will be lethal. Any signs of spin yet?

And what match are you watching? The guy has played 86 deliveries and has worked extremely hard. Getting dropped hasnt happend for the first time in Test cricket. He has played MJ well here apart from that lazy shot, but overall we should be happy. You saw how professor played MJ?

Future is safe Alhamdulillah. You saw how the A team performed against australians. That is future and add Aamir and Junaid Khan and no worries at all. You go and worry about bengali future.

I'm not saying he was the only match winner in that game. But his contribution was indeed vital.

Also his hundred was on his comeback. He has been decent on his comeback. Don't need to dig in the past.

You're comparing one awful test batsmen to another one. He has played 86 balls? So what? Is that an accomplishment?

You guys love glorifying awful players. He faced 86 balls and was dropped but he faced 86 balls, that's an accomplishment!

Can't rotate the strike, worst SR in the history of the format, is in horrendous form and one century against SL doesn't change that.

The amount of tunnel vision for this awful player...
