woah steelo green seems to really HATE Azhar Ali :))

Surprised cuz he has so much blind support for people like Fawad.

Maybe because Azhar is blocking the spot of Fawad?

In any case, Azhar isn't a tailender, that's an insult. He's good enough and has played a gem so far frustrating the hell out of Aussies.

Just need to go on to score big.

Can't rotate the strike, worst SR in the history of the format, is in horrendous form and one century against SL doesn't change that.

Listen, I am just talking about this match. I have also my views on what players should play for Pakistan but the matter of fact is that right now Azhar Ali is playing.

And given the circumstances he has done a good job. Pakistan were 7/2 at one stage and the aussies were all over them. This is Test cricket, not a T20 match. MJ is bowling tight and all you can do is to survive the new ball and they have done that now.

Now they need to rotate the strike and it will get easier. Had they gone for shots like you want we woukd probably habe been 35/4 by lunch.

Calm down and support the boys instesd of whining.

18 out of 21 failures. Enough said. Since his century, 4 innings, no 50s. Was just dropped, had an SR in the 20s.

I can talk all day about Fawad and prove me right, but nothing to do with this conversation.

I agree his scores haven't been impressive, but he has looked good since his come back, after that historic test.

Hopefully will score big today.

I like fawad and I believe he should in our test squad instead of flash in the pans like shehzad. I would even get him to open perhaps. but azhar is a good player and a gritty fighter. We will need players like him going forward. Yes he's not flashy and pretty but Amin is flashy and pretty and doesn't last longer than two or three balls. In tests strike rate is irrelevant and I never really look at it unless i'm watching some WWE T20. Otherwise its average for me and form. Yes he has been out of form but all players lose form. He is an asset and would be one of the first on my team sheet.

Do you guys think test cricket means block away for 80 deliveries with a sub 30 SR because two wickets fell?

After 50 balls he should have started ticking the runs on.

I hate more than anything when people put words in my mouth. I am no fan of smashing away, I hate the Afridi way firstly and secondly taking 2-3 singles in an over is not asking for the sun and moon.

This man was just dropped, has played 80 deliveries with an SR below 30 and I'm saying play like a T20? Weird conclusion there.

Any batsmen would after 50 balls get some runs at a decent pace but this tailender can't do that so he just blocks until he edges it for his wicket.

Don't throw Amin in there as if I'm one of his fans, I think Amin is an awful cricketer.

As for Azhar, I don't know where this grit you all mention comes from. He's faced 80 deliveries and looks less of a batsmen than Jadeja. There is surviving, then there are good batsmen who play cricket.

he's a good batsman and this is an aspect of cricket that is ignored. You would do well to be patient.
 
Decent over rate from us which is good to see. And a good recovery from Pakistan.

I'm a bit concerned about eight overs for Mitch already.

That's the thing, there is nothing that shows he is a good batsmen.

He started off well in his career, albeit slow, and since his way has been figured out has, for the millionth time 18/21 failures.

He in SL had 0 fifties in 4 innings. Good batsmen!

If they're smart, they throw him out there again when Azhar has an over as he was just dropped and could be reeling.
 
Hafeez was dropped agianst Srilanka because of poor form, what the hell did he do to get back selected ?? nothing. This is Pak selectors for you. Senseless. Azhar ALi can open easily and we can fir in Harris Sohail in the middle order. But in Pakistan if you have approach only then you will be in the team.

exactly. In these conditions it is important to fight and grind out innings and then take advantage of tired bowlers. Our young PP'ers don't understand this!

4 runs for YK, we cant keep starting games at 3/2, 7/2, 15/2 etc... and expect to then build big team totals. The opening situation needs to improve drastically

Younis and Azhar need to keep the scoreboard ticking and pick up the odd boundary. That run rate is too low.

I think that issue is dead and buried now. It's no cheating as long as other teams are doing it too. Had it only been Pakistan doing it then it would have been a cheating ..

I think the out field is pretty abrasive here hence we see a hint of reverse swing . I know it's early days for reverse swing to happen however this how the modern day cricket has become ...

Don't think outfield had much say yet. They hardly played shots.
 
Good news is Jamsheed is scoring some runs even if it's against UAE. That guy really needs some runs.
 
Pakistan have nothing on the board, 2 quick wickets and Aus are all over them again.
 
We need to get some wickets or its going to be a long day for us. Today, our quicks are the threat, if Pak can see them off they can take runs off the spinners. And if we have to toil all day it will have a physical effect on our guys for the rest of the series. So all yall quit whining about the strike rate. I would rather you scored 200 at 4rpo, than 200 at 2 rpo.

if it was us then the response would have been different.

That what I was thinking. It's all about who will tire whom. Pitch may be a road. But it's a test match. All these two need to stay at the wicket. Runs will flow automatically
